As much as I hate to give a bad review, after my experience I am compelled to do so.
My wife and I were house hunting and became interested in a house she was listing that was already in escrow by the time we inquired. Fine, we moved on, found a different property that we made an offer on, went into escrow on it, long story short, we had a terrible experience, everything that could have gone wrong did. We uncovered numerous coding/permit/safety issues, had an uncooperative seller, and a bad listing agent so we decided to walk.
So back to searching, We noticed that Nancy's property was still on the market 4 months later and had been updated in August at an increased rate. So my wife called on it and asked Nancy Metcalf if there was something wrong with the property? She said no, that it was an issue with the buyers and the deal was falling through. My wife said, ok because we just had a really rough transaction and don't even want to look if there is anything wrong. She assured my wife it was fine and said if we wanted to see it, to call and she would show it to us. Went to dinner at the Grove that night and were sitting right next to some folks talking about a house they were in escrow on and how much trouble they were having. It sounded so much like our issue, we had to introduce ourselves. Would you believe it was the buyers of Nancy's home we were getting ready to go and see? And come to find out, the issues they were trying to deal with was...yes...permitting and coding issues! We never told them that we had called on their house because they were still actively working on it, and I didn't think they had any idea Nancy was taking backups. They seemed pretty convinced everything was going to work out. The thing that really upsets me is that we were actually happy to see this place was listed by Nancy Metcalf because we know she has been around a while and has such a good reputation. And the fact it was back on the market (or so we thought) seemed like it was meant to be. But to find out that she was not truthful to use was really very infuriating! I am sure we would have gone and looked and fell in love, just like these people, then ended up going through the same thing we just got done dealing with!!
All I can say is this is a small town! Anyway, We were so disgusted after that we wouldn't even look at any house offered by CBP.
So Thankfully we dodged that bullet and found and are closing on a Prudential property. I am sure there are plenty of great CBP realtors so I don't want to scare people away entirely. This was just our experience with one. All I can say, is to do your homework and don't take anyone's word for anything!
