Jack Lingo is not at all a good company to deal with as a landlord. They take a 15% fee every month and do nothing for that fee except collect rent and send it to landlords. They do not check on the rental as they should to make sure there is no damage from tenants. They always seem to side with the tenants when there is damage. As an example I have a screened in porch and the screen was ripped off when I went to inspect after the tenant left. The agent at Lingo told me that they have strong winds there and that's why the screen came off. Now I'm a pretty smart guy and have several technical degrees in science and I know that the wind cannot rip the screen off unless there was some hurricane winds which never happened. Plus the screen is a mesh screen where the wind would blow through it. Also tenant left holes in the wall and Lingo never inspected the place after tenant left. I had to go down there which is a 5 hr drive and check it myself. What the heck am I paying these idiots for if they are not doing anything for the money?? They cannot be trusted to do their job. I eventually fired them and I am no longer using realtors to get tenants. If you want something done right you have to do it yourself. So I am doing it my self! What a waste of money!

Be very careful using this realtor. After our rental at Rehoboth Beach, they sent me an email saying that that the cleaning crew reported that we had broken a futon at the house we rented, and they were sending us an invoice for damages. I inspected the house and the futon in question before we left and there are 9 people in my family that say that it was undamaged when we left. I refused to pay and will think twice before using this realtor again. The futon in question was a number of years old. We used the futon for 8 days as a bed for a 12 year old, and did not see any visible damage when we left. Either the cleaning crew broke the bed after our departure, or someone is trying to get a replacement for a futon that is worn out under normal use.

We want to inform people, who in a future want to rent the housing from this company for year round. Be aware that you will get screwed with you deposit. The reason for complain is that we never experienced this kind of unprofessionalism anywhere else. Any time you go to the office, all workers are angry and mean for no reasons. We been renting from this company for 7 years and we changed 3 houses during that time. Also every time we got our deposit, we never returned it in full. The examples of not returning deposits “ almost $ 200 for ONE fridge shelf( for that amount you can get almost a new fridge!), loosing knifes from apartment ( specially we had our personal stuff), changing air filters for air conditioner , lastly we were charged for batteries for fire alarm, which was never even worked when we moved in. As know all this issues with the deposit, we prepare apartment and left it in better condition as it was before we rent it. We had mice problems, but never been helped with this issues. All furniture was ripped and old. We bought new drawers and left it in the house after we moved out, because the old ones were falling a part, I guess we had to charge them as well. Because of this rudeness and unprofessionalism we would rather rent from Airbnb!

Not worth dealing with these people. I had my house sold by Christina Haag. She was very rude, difficult to deal with and ignored my concerns and instructions. This company just wants to sell your house as cheap and fast as possible.

If it were possible to give NEGATIVE stars, this company would earn a -5 from me. Our entire vacation was burdened by senseless issues that could have been prevented/addressed much quicker than they were. First, the house was FILTHY. Then, there was no hot water - which is super great for giving children showers! The basement room smelled musty, and members of our family have terrible asthma/allergies, so we couldn't even use it to sleep in. OH! And did I mention that the "heated pool" wasn't heating? When we called to express our concerns, they sent a realtor over to "check it out." "I'll inform the homeowner," she said. "There's no way there isn't hot water," and "the pool isn't advertised as heated," this company claimed, brushing off our concerns almost immediately. The house listing clearly listed the pool as "heated pool and spa." And the maintanence man fiddled with the boiler for the hot water for half an hour before establishing, "officially," that the house had no hot water. "It's a basement unit," the company claimed, "They're usually more damp." A little dampness, we could handle, but certainly not the mildew growing rampant by the over-worked dehumidifier. I showered down there for ten minutes and needed to use a nasal spray. Ultimately, the boiler for the hot water needed a part replaced, as did the heated pool. We were reimbursed a fee for the pool, since we couldn't use it for FIVE of our seven days, but that doesn't cover the other issues (come on, y'all don't have a cleaning crew to check the homes you're renting?!). It also doesn't mask the fact that we were brushed off when the complaints were first made. We frequent Rehoboth, but will NEVER use Jack Lingo again. PS - start listing your "basement units" as "dungeons." It'll give people a better feel of what they're getting themselves into.

Renting from jack lingo this year never used this rental agent before and sadly very disappointed in quality of service from agents plus I can't pay for anything over the phone and I had to mail everything in and I never received confirmation of payment until I asked for it. I will never use this agency again.

We arranged to rent a house from Lingo in February of this year for our annual family vacation in Rehoboth Beach. When we arrived last week we found the house dirty and moldy and bed bugs were discovered when sheets were being put on the beds. We were told by Lingo to leave the home because they had to fumigate the house and to return to their office. We expected the Lingo team to help us find other accommodations, but the Lingo team made very little effort to help secure an alternative option for us. Unfortunately they made a minimal effort and seemed to show no interest in the fact that that we were going to have a cancel our long-planned vacation. We explained that we had family members that had traveled internationally for our annual retreat to Rehoboth Beach, but that had little to no impact on the effort the Lingo team made to help us find a place to stay. We were extremely disappointed in the lack of concern Lingo showed us, particularly given that the home was so obviously in disrepair. As consumers, we have new options like AirBnB and HomeAway for finding rental properties. They are less expensive, but we have chosen over the years to depend on Lingo as they are a trusted, local company. We expected that they would have our back if something like this happened, but this experience deeply undermines the value of spending a little more through Lingo.

A long story, but I’ll try to be as brief as possible. We’ve been renting in the Rehoboth/Dewey area for 55 years. We mostly used the same company for decades until they had virtually no more focus on the rental market. Once in 1997 and then again in 2012, we had to resort to using Jack Lingo because our usual homes were unavailable. On both occasions and decades apart, we found the staff to be egotistical, rude, impolite and accusatory. Our last rental from this company had so many problems and so many issues, particularly with beds, roof leaks, plumbing and bugs not only the owner of the home herself had to drop by, but two agents from Lingo who were so incredibly rude and ignorant accused of us fabricating our complaints and insisted nothing was wrong with the property. These experiences were so memorable I can even name the specific names of agents (even the one from 1997), but I won’t out of respect. Bottom line, they have, in my own experience, never appeared to care about customer service. And why should they? They sadly have a monopoly on the whole area so they know they don’t need to treat anyone well. I recommend going with one of the other companies in the region. There aren’t many, but you’re likely to find just as nice a property minus the attitude and hassle of dealing with Mr. Lingo’s arrogant staff.

They need to reconsider how some of their realtors conduct themselves professionally. My wife and I both took time off in our schedules to view a property and the older female employee from this company was rude and inconsiderate about wasting our time calling only 20 mins before viewing property. Yes the property was a foreclosed home and the electric is out but she had 24 hrs before hand to let us know that instead of 20 mins before... honestly not professional at all and honestly straight up lazy. Not to give the company as a whole a bad rep. But it’s just ridiculous that she couldn’t do her job. Unsatisfied and do not recommend using millsboro jack lingo.

Terrible customer service. Rude and condescending are putting it kindly. The house was more than problematic. Ants and food were covering the kitchen counters upon our arrival, human hair and pet hair covered the stairs. We found two pairs of dirty underwear in the beds, blood stains on the bedding, pills under the bed, and dust on all furniture. The house seemed as thought it had never been cleaned yet there was a business card left in the bathroom that stated "carefully cleaned by Jack Lingo," and also had a paper seal wrapped around the toilet indicating a cleaning crew had been there. We contacted Lingo with concerns for the cleanliness of the home and we were told the unit had been overlooked and not cleaned (lie). They came out to "clean" and I swear to you, they sprayed febreeze and called it a day. Did not vacuum or dust. The home was supposed to be pet free yet there were dog bowls, dog shampoo, and urine stain remover under the kitchen sink. Our family is very allergic to pet dander, some members had to cut the trip short. Our agent came out once to see the home and was unapologetic. Upon receiving more complaints, she returned with her manager who was equally rude. Most electrical outlets did not work, the home smelled and the owner left their junk in all closets, drawers and cupboards. Actual junk, broken bobble head dolls, busted glass, tax documents and bank statements from 1996 & 1997, old dusty clothes, paint cans, and food to name a few of the items. My sister told the manager she was going to post pictures of the junk and filth so when others search the location, pictures that truly represent the unit will be shown. The manager got sassy with her and said, "you can't do that, people aren't supposed to see these kinds of things." EXACTLY! WHY WAS IT OK FOR US TO SEE "these kinds of things?????" In short, Lingo is the worst. They don't care if you are happy, they take you for your money and treat you like dirt. They do not provide information and photos that accurately depict their property. In short, don't buy their snake oil.

Rented a house in August from Jack Lingo and we had a wonderful time. Our agent, Amanda (and her fellow agent Lynn), was very helpful and responded promptly to all inquiries. The house was very nice and located in a quiet community close to the beach. I would definitely recommend them and will be using them again next year.

Lingo has largest selection of vacation rentals in Rehoboth Beach. Several people on rental staff are very nice (Kathy and Andrea are two that are very nice) some are crabby.

House we rented was not at all what was advertised. Barely any upkeep since at least the 80's. Very outdated. Appliances hardly work, cookware looks like it was salvaged from a shipwreck, beds feel like they're filled with rubble (the floor is literally more comfortable), tacky rittan furniture throughout...just spend a little more on a hotel. You won't regret it.

We rented from this company during our four-month stay in Rehoboth Beach. The company was very helpful getting the rental arranged on short notice and provided an excellent value for a long-term vacation rental in the off-season. After move-out we were accused of taking a cable box from a spare bedroom and disabling the internet prior to move-out (which was still working for us right until we moved out) and are expected to pay any and all related charges. They do seem to have nice rentals and have a large number of offerings in the area, but you'll want to protect yourself accordingly in your dealings with them (we've never had this kind of problem before, and we've been bouncing from rental to rental seeing the country for the past two years). Record EVERYTHING and check EVERYTHING before you sign, and make sure you document EVERYTHING on move-out as well in case accusations are made.
