I had an absolutely horrible experience with this man. I requested his grievance process to file a serious complaint against a therapist in his clinic, David Roethe. After meeting with me at his office under false pretenses, those being that, after I threatened a legitimate lawsuit against David Roethe and The Psychology Clinic, he insisted we meet in person to resolve it. I agreed to meet with him after consulting with an attorney.
Our meeting mostly consisted of him telling me to think about his reputation, think about the Clinic's reputation, warning me how much information about me would be made public if I were to file a lawsuit, asking me my "number," telling me that his maximum liability with his insurance company was $1 million, pretending to know my current therapist, asking me what my current therapist had diagnosed me and what medications I was taking- and who was prescribing them to me, refusing to even investigate my complaint beyond merely speaking to his partner David Roethe before filing a grievance report, AND violating HIPAA by digging through my entire records, then letting another "staff member" dig through them as well, (among a laundry list of other patient rights violations, state law violations, and ethics violations), and then refusing any resolution whatsoever.
One of my initial complaints was David Roethe's intentional falsification of my records- which I proved with multiple emails and text messages between David Roethe and myself that directly contradict what David Roethe wrote in his records about me. I would stay away from him and his Psychology Clinic. As of today (6/1/2016), they are being investigated by the State of Wisconsin and a HIPAA violation complaint is pending screening.
I also intend to file a criminal complaint against the Clinic- specifically against David Roethe and James Black.
