Martha Fernandez is the most helpful therapist I've seen. She utilizes the Marsha Linehan based therapy of DBT. Mindfulness is a current trend, however many groups and individuals are not using this model exactly. She (Ms Fernandez) stays current with training, attending workshops given by Ms Linehan and brings this back to her patients in practice. Searching for DBT can be hard so I hope you find this helpful.

After years at Prestera, Marshall Psychology brings back hope. Hope that educated, caring doctors still exist. Thank you for all you do.

Please stay away from here. I used to see Dr. Boggess here and I loved him. Unfortunately, he left, so when I returned I had to see another psychologist. I was unhappy with her and the practice would not allow me to change doctors so I decided to see a psychiatrist for the first time in my life. It will also be the last time in my life. The psychiatrist I saw was a very nice but abrupt young man, a resident of course. I told him my symptoms and within 5 minutes he wanted to put me on an antidepressant, even after I firmly established my opposition to them. I told him I would prefer a low-dose benzodiazepine as a rescue just for panic attacks, even just 5 or 10 a month, but they don't prescribe them due to addiction. He put me on Buspar, an anxiolytic. After one dose I had such severe brain zaps I nearly passed out. Foolishly, I took a second dose with the same result. Before my second appointment, I had to cancel due to a personal issue. I got a dismissal letter from nurse Emily saying I had missed 3 appts and could not return. When I called to tell her I had only been there once, she lied through her teeth about it, insisting I had missed 3 appts. The administration automatically took her side. Finally, the administrative assistant took it upon her self to get to the bottom of it, listen to our phone calls, and discover that I was right all along. She waived the dismissal and I got a second appointment. This was an even bigger mistake... When I discussed the side effect with my doctor at the second appointment, he totally dismissed my concerns and said I should have taken it longer- and also told me he was leaving the practice and I would have to see someone else. I asked to see his supervisor, Dr. Holroyt, to tell her I wanted a more long-term provider. She interrupted me mid-sentence to tell me they couldn't help me, and if I didn't like it, I could leave. I left the practice in tears. I did nothing to these people to justify the way they treated me. If you are sick, you deserve to be met with compassion and the best care possible.
