Please if you have a loved one whether it's drugs or mental illness don't bring them to this crisis center. I wouldn't bring a pet rat there. First and foremost the guard that works overnight shift is the most disrespectful security guard I've ever came across, talking to these patients like they are dirt. They are people with feelings, our loved ones and I don't care why they are there. Your insurance pays for this security guard to degrade and humiliate patients. BTW did you know that you can only have two tiny cups of water no matter if you're there two hours or sixteen hours. Yes this is how this guard treats the mentally ill and/or addict. What a disgrace that Pennsylvania hospital pays this man a paycheck, and insurance companies pay this hospital all this money so Hall Mercer guards can make the sick feel more worthless, scared, nervous, sad, low, hopeless, shameful, than they did before they walked through the door. PLEASE IF YOU OR YOUR LOVED ONE NEEDS HELP TJERE ARE OTHER PLACES WHO HAVE EMPLOYEES THAT ARE NICE, KIND, COMPASSIONATE, AND SPEAK LIFE TO THE SICK, NOT DEATH. STAY AWAY FROM HALL MERCER CRC!

Staff was very nice but the security guards are mean and ignorant and someone who is coming to get actual help and is scared to death may be put off by this. Shame on them!!

Horrible place!!!! I was there for help, and was physically knocked over backwards by one of the male nursing staff!!!! Everyone talks down to you with an attitude!!! And yet these are the people deciding our fate!!!! Someone should go there undercover!!!! Its a mess! Needless to say i was the one thrown out!! So i never got any help, and I'm back to square one, physically sick and mentally in a bad place!!!! Thanks CBH

If I could leave this place 0 out of 5 stars I would. It's an absolute joke! If you want your loved one to get proper treatment, DON'T send them here. They turn people away that are in need of real help for depression or addiction. To top that off, they can't seem to get their story straight. We were given many many different answers and responses as to why my family member was not approved into a treatment facility.

They can be disorganized at times, and the intake process (for outpatient services) takes a bit. But I've been going there for psychotherapy and meds management for over a year, and have had nothing but a positive experience.

I have been going here for 8 years and got kicked out on 1 appointment I didn’t make myself. Unhelpful staff and social workers walk around like zombies. They shuffle you from dr to dr to dr. This is a place that makes your mental health worse by causing you huge hassles and sacrificing your own time.

This has got to be one of the disrespectful places for the mentally ill who at time don't understand their situation. Dr. Christian Kohler of Pennsylvania hospital runs this place and he isn't the best penn has to offer. There is no respect at Hall Mercer and the staff at 4 Spruce Pennsylvania Hospital is horrible, you have this bunch of doctors that don't communicate with families. My child was kept well beyond what the voluntarily requirements were, despite Dr. Kohler treatening to commit her if she didn't. I was on 4 spruce mental times with strong smell of feces and no housekeeping attempting to clean it, many lazy staff thru this unit.

Physically the place is a dump, came back with flea bits on my arm. However the staff was wonderful and caring to my wife. Even the security guards were very kind and soft spoken. The nurse and doctors really try to help. They gave us referrals when we left

These people deserve no stars, they have a bunch of underpaid people with no respect for patients. Dr. Christian Kohler is the director of this unit and looks at everybody as being a pre-medicated pyscho. After spending a night at hall Mercer it left me with more trauma than what the original problem was. I spent a week on 4 spruce at Pennyslvania hospital and the people running that were very unprofessional. I was threatened multiple times to be restrained and there was no reason for it. I was given meds that doctor knew I had a bad reactions with previously but refused to listed due to Ego issues. The unit smelled liked feces and urine and they regulary had people in restraints locked in a solitary room screaming for everyon,. nobody checked on these people on restraints. 4 Spruce at Pennsylvania hospital reminded me of an asylum for the mentally ill and it was a sad place, University of Penn backs this place and someone needs to investigate everybody involved, including ' Dr. Kohler

This place should NOT be treating patients with mental illness or addiction! Releasing a patient after they said they don’t want to live, or a patient who attempted suicide and continually threatened suicide after arriving, is insanity. The staff here, are the ones who need help. I’m glad I don’t need their services but a loved one recently went there for help after he was told by Penn Presbyterian that, that’s where he had to go for the assessment to enter their rehab. After over 9 hours they released him, saying his insurance wouldn’t cover rehab. They gave the wrong assessment code to insurance company. Lorna was rude and defensive and I was told that he would have to come back to be reassessed! She didn’t follow up with my family member or the insurance company as she said she was going to do. Later that day Shannon said, he’ll have to go to a hospital in his area. If that’s the case, he should’ve been told that when he went to them for help! I guess they keep people long enough to BILL THEIR INSURANCE. Sounds like a SCAM to me.

This place is just awful. (CRC) Please CBH send a undercover there to check-out the service , it would blow your mind how the staff from the front desk to the back treated those with such sickness it would amaze you....Asked for the manager and she even blew me off for just the one simple question I asked to make sure I was in the right place... Got my family member out of there!
