Unprofessional staff with unethical practices. Staff breached confidentiality, falsified documentation and unethically billed my insurance company. Stopped returning my phone calls, however sent me bills for services that I did not receive. I would not recommend this office to anyone. I worked specifically with Andrea and Dr. Aja, office staff is rude

I had my first appointment here today. (FYI: the practice is in the James building, in case you forget to look at the directory sign at the entrance like I did, haha!). The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. My clinician, Cara Henry, is very kind and understanding. I am looking forward to going back for my next appointment!

Doctors are fine, but the receptionist staff was extremely rude when I had an issue to resolve with my prescription.

I went here for several months, as did my son. The therapists/psychologist were all very friendly. My son's child therapist was absolutely wonderful, and mine was fine as well. Reception was often very cold, and scheduling an appointment was tedious. They're very full, and as a working single parent it was difficult to be seen as often as they wanted while they were getting my medication regulated. Overall a good experience, though.

Called to make an appointment as recommended by several friends following the loss of my husband. The receptionist answered the phone and I could barely understand her as her enunciation was so poor. Also, it was quite apparent she was in a rush. She asked what my insurance was and had to put me on hold to see if the practice accepted it. I have Medicare and a supplemental but this practice does not accept Medicare. I would think that she should have already known what was accepted! When she returned to the line, her response was “Dr. Wessels can’t see you”. No explanation of why he could not see me. I thanked her and hung up. I am in the medical profession and I was completely appalled at the whole incident. There was no empathy exhibited by this receptionist, whatsoever. If I were a doctor or therapist and this receptionist was the first person with whom a potential patient had contact, I would be horrified. Curt and unhelpful are a couple of the best adjectives to describe her attitude. One would think that the practice would employ people that had a kinder, more sensitive demeanor due to the need for the appointment to begin with. I have been treated more kindly when calling Wal-mart!

Best psych doctors office I have ever been too. Love the office staff, love my therapist and doctor. They will even work with you about copays !

Rock Landing used to be such a wonderful place to go, my therapist was very attentive, helpful, and kind. Too bad she retired a few years back because I had to change therapists, and now I have to find another one again. She interrupts constantly, questioned the validity of a trauma I suffered, and uses transference. The whole thing makes me feel like giving up.

Rude staff. Trying to send me bill year later for what they claim is missed appointment fees, but no one is stupid enough to believe you wait a year to bill and I've never heard any office charging $100 for missed appointment fee. Bunch of rude liars trying to get over on people. I'm in process of hiring lawyer to fight it and refuse to pay it. Good luck if you choose this practice

I started going to this office in 2016. My phys was fantastic, the doctor who tested me for adhd was great. But the front office staff is horrible. No manners, very rude, they do not care about the patients. I would have to call over and over to have them send a message to my doctor that I needed refills and would never get a call back, would go weeks without my medication. I asked for all visits to be faxed to my PCP and they never received 1 thing for this office. I called the office today after I found out my PCP had no records of me even being in this office to get my information faxed. I called around 145pm and I get a call at 500pm telling me I need to come sign a release form. When it is the offices fault for one not faxing my information after ever visit like requested, two not updating the paperwork, and 3 getting back to me at 500Pm after I told them at 145pm my PCP needed the info by tomorrow morning. Who ever I spoke to on the phone had no desire to help me and get my records faxed hints why I get a call back at 5pm and she says “I just got to it”. Now my medication will be denied for the THRID TIME THANKS TO THE POOR FRONT OFFICE STAFF. I do not recommend ANYONE to see any doctor in this office all because the front office staff just does not care!

When I finally arrived at my first appt. after a 6 week wait. I saw Dr. Aja for couples counseling and had no problems with her at all. I found her to be helpful. The staff, however, complicated things. Dr. Aja requested to see my husband and I separately. When we went to set my husbands appt., they refused, stating he needed to contact his insurance. He did, several times, going back and forth between the office and the insurance. Finally he put the office on conference call with our insurance, per there request. To which they replied on the conference call: they are no longer accepting that insurance. The impression was they did not want to deal with the insurance and so decided on the spot they would not accept it or my husband. This has made it difficult to continue our treatment with Dr. Aja. Since my husband cannot go, I feel it is less effective for me to continue sessions. It should be made aware that the wait time for the initial appt was very long. Appts. needed to be made well in advance in order to be seen more than once every six weeks.

Between moving and changing insurance year to year I'm very glad to be back at this practice. Ed Whitacre and Rabia Jafri are the most helpful people I've yet to meet; thank you both!

The office staff makes this entire place horrible. They speak to you like you’re stupid. They don’t get anything done in a timely manner. They can’t call you back. One women is just flat out rude. We like our therapist but won’t be returning because of the office staff.

Eddie Ridout

Illegitimate. Very nice building but that's all they had going for them. Appointments would vanish in thin air, doctors withheld useful information, receptionists were even snooty. I usually adopt a "don't knock it till you try it" mentality, but seriously, don't even waste your time with this place, let alone your money.

Its obvious that some of these reviews are from people that need psychological help and I will tell that I have had nothing but a positive experience at this establishment. The office staff is very professional and the doctors are definitely there to help you but you have to be willing to help yourself. I will definitely send others here. Great business!!!

Staff were extremely nice! As far as doctors go, don't bother with making time to be seen. I had problems with insurance needing to be reinstated. So I called plenty of days before my scheduled appointment, and told them I needed to cancel until my insurance was active again. I called immediately following my insurance activation and the staff told me the doctor no longer was interested in seeing me due to cancellation for first time appointment. How professional is this? I can't control what the insurance company decides to do/not do! I couldn't even make an appointment with another therapist. So much for putting the patient needs first?!?!

Lisa

Receptionist is rude. Takes months to see a doctor Wait for intake coordinator to call you bk It's only certain docs that take Medicare. Patients need help Riverside Behavioral closed down Community service board has no therapist. This is why so many just give up because they say the help is there but by the time you get to them it's too late. Can you imagine how many people tried & gave up?? The system is broken it should never take months to see a doctor not when one seeks out mental health care

Adrienne A

Staff is always pleasant and helpful. Dr. Barnes-Parker is personable, relatable and an awesome therapist!

Jess Wollin

They have the perfect doctor for each person in my family, no matter the challenge. And their psychological evaluations are very thorough and easy to understand. I recommend them to anyone in need.

I was a patient of Cara's for depression, divorace and other issues. According to her bio she should have been able to help me. She how ever is not equipped to do that. Her bio in my opinion is not accurate. All we did was talk about how my week went. She seemed more interested in my attempting to date and have a life. She did not help with the physical and, mental anguish that I was experiencing from recent back surgery and process of divorce. Absolutely a waste of you time!!. I finally had a discussion with her about.my progress because she was not helping me. I could talk to my mother and get a better insight. I was promptly kicked out of the practice and could not see anyone else. PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS GROUP. IF I WAS KICKED OUT OF THE PRACTICE BY ONE ASSOCIATE THEN THE REST OF THEIR STAFF WOULD BE THE SAME WAY WOULDN'T THINK!!!
