The counselor we were seeing was the absolute best thing about this place, but sadly she has left Hope and Healing and so I need to review the actual company (not our old counselor).
It is very difficult to get ahold of people at this agency. They don’t always answer the phone. But that is not my main concern. Beware about relying on this place for your child’s medication. They won’t see you once you stop going to counseling. We accidentally missed our follow up appointment for the medication my daughter was prescribed and because of that, the psychiatric nurse won’t see us anymore. My daughter has three pills left and hopefully our pediatrician (who doesn’t feel comfortable prescribing mood stabilizers) will help us get medication so that my 8 year old doesn’t suffer cold-turkey withdrawal symptoms. I’m beyond frustrated that Hope and Healing told us to go see someone else just for missing one appointment. And the policy of no medication help if you’re not already being seen for counseling is frustrating. My daughter has gotten to the point where she doesn’t need counseling but she is going to need medication for much of her life. Medication isn’t something you just stop taking because you don’t need counseling anymore.
In addition, it took an entire week, three attempts at contact by my pharmacy, and a call from me to finally hear back from the psychiatric nurse about whether she could refill my daughter’s prescription. Only to be told we needed to go somewhere else. Cool. It would have been nice to have been told that on the first day we tried to contact you so that I wouldn’t have to scramble in a mad panic to try to find a way to refill these pills that my daughter very desperately needs. Great business practice. Thanks a lot.
