Marissa is the only person at this facility even worth my time. She's great. With THAT said, here was my experience:
You can never get ahold of anyone. They must not believe in a receptionist, because I have never in over a year, had anyone answer the phone. It's extremely inconvenient for those of us who work overnight/graves to leave a message and NEVER get a follow up. Horrible system, stop being cheap and hire a desk worker. Easy.
Anyway, I was assigned a counselor and had one or two sessions. Not enough to have an opinion either way, but after telling her that I am partially dissociated during most therapy sessions and even regular conversations (with people I'm not familiar/comfortable with) she seemed to think I wasn't an EMDR candidate...despite me having great success for years beforehand with EMDR. So, that was a red flag.
One day I showed up for my appointment and was told my counselor had went on some mission out of the country. They never notified me or anything, not until I was there, that day, after a 12 hour shift, in the waiting room. Then they, publicly in that waiting room in front of other bewildered patients, informed me I'd need a new therapist and asked if I had a male/female preference and what I was being treated for. Jesus Christ, talk about putting someone on the spot. They chose someone then and there, and the assigned counselor came and sat out in the waiting room to introduce himself to me and set something up.
Do you have any idea how awkward that is between two people, let alone in front of onlookers? Sorry but I'm just not into everyone in the waiting room knowing my personal business. You should have considered my privacy as anyone in the healthcare business SHOULD have known to do.
I cancelled the appointment they set up for that and absolutely will not return.
