It is unfortunate our relationship had to end over a billing error. Make sure you know how to read your Explanation of Benefits (EOB) because she does not. It is clear to us she tried to take advantage of our vulnerability. She looks great on paper, but remember this is a business and money comes first. Red flags - she was 10 minutes late to our first appointment, no heads up. When you arrive at her office, you won't know where you are because there are no signs and not a soul in sight. You just wait and hope you are at the right place. She kept bringing up payment during our sessions even though we confirmed from the get-go that we are covered and stated our co-pay. She says you can contact her anytime - not true. She does not answer or respond to phone calls. Email is your only option. All of this to say, it took a very long time for us to take the first step into counseling. It is a scary thing for many, as most new experiences are. We trusted Ms. Copeland and she breached that trust in a few ways. Her lack of professionalism and ethics has been discouraging and has shaken our faith in counseling. Hopefully her future patients will have a better experience than we did.
