If I could describe Mike in 3 words They would be; obnoxious, condescending, and unprofessional. He made me feel so uncomfortable, and worthless. If you want real help stay the hell away from this guy, he will only tolerate you if you've got the wallet to let him prance around like a douche bag for however long you allow it. Because of this guy It's really hard for me to trust therapists with anything, or even consider them. If you don't believe me you go ahead and waste your money on this guy.

Down to earth guy that can give you a clinical or no nonsense diagnosis. Be careful what you wish for though. Has me on a good path and has given me the tools needed to improve my situation. Mike will help shead light on what those problems are and gives resources to fix them, but as a patient it's your responsibility to follow through.

Michael is incredible. The moment I walk into his office I breath a sigh of relief. The first time Michael saw me, he and I both knew if I didn't get help immediately I was going to end up dead within less than a year. I was very self destructive. I didn't know how to cope with life at all. I had no respect for myself or the people in my life. Michael changed my life. He is incredibly knowledgeable in his field. His eclectic style is on point. He is compassionate, understanding, inspirational, informative, witty, and 100% real. I highly recommend him for people dealing with any type of issue(s). He helped me through my struggles with addiction, abuse, depression, anxiety and much more. I am incredibly thankful for him. BTW he has snacks and drinks in his office. Bonus! :) He's a great person and counselor. Go see for yourself. You're welcome.

After being in detox for 6 days I got released by the Dr. with no meds and no after care nothing, didn't know where to turn I started calling therapist and with no luck with call backs from anyone. I decided to give one more person a try which was Carney. I really wasn't sure because of his google profile pic almost turned me away cause he appeared a little creepy but Im glad I didn't let myself judge a book by its cover. Michael Carney has been a blessing to my family from the day I met him I felt comfortable with him with my life in his hands to guide me in the right direction. The first day I met him he set me up with everything I needed to do that I didnt know before and got me a great psychiatrist as well. furthermore my wife and I are eventually going to start couples therapy with him as well. If you have any issues that you feel you need a therapist I highly recommend Michael Carney!

I went to see Michael Carney to get help with an issue. The first two times he cancelled on me. The last time he did, it was about an hour before I was scheduled to meet with him. The next appointment, he was over a half hour late. My last scheduled appointment, I waited over a half hour and finally got frustrated and left. This was a vulnerable time in my life and his actions showed he didn't care for me or my mental health. Take my word for it, if your going to spend a hundred bucks to see a counselor, go to one who at least pretends to care about you. This man certainly doesn't.

I first contacted Mike, via email. Without even meeting him face to face, he was genuinely helpful in a simple introduction. I scheduled an appointment with him at that time. The first visit was much easier than I expected. His office is a relaxing atmosphere. He let me lead the pace of the visit. I was able to speak freely without feeling judged. He did not try to interject while I was talking. Once I finished my initial rambling of EVERYTHING, he helped me sort through the thoughts and was able to assist in prioritizing my needs. It immediately alleviated the sense of being overwhelmed. His insight is quite helpful. Not only does he have the vast knowledge and expertise of the clinical side, he gives real life, day to day examples that you can relate to. If counseling is something you are seeking, Mike can certainly assist you.

After cold turkeying off of my psych meds and suffering a complete psychotic break, I was hiding in my room for 10 weeks hallucinating, and having constant panic attacks my mom got me in with Mr. Carny after a 5 day visit to the psych ward. It was exactly the office I needed to walk into. I was coherent on meds and we got to know eachother pretty quick, not only is he qualified but hes funny, and my favorite part is that hes real. He doesnt treat you like a crazy person, he doesnt talk down to you, and he can help you with all kinds of issues because of his connections with other doctors. He really got me on the right treatment track. Hes very realistic about psych meds, which I am very happy for because personally I was beyond terrified of them. he got me to trust a psychiatrist and im enjoying life again after 10 weeks of physical and psychological hell. And the best part is that Im going to continue to work with him so that eventually i wont need to depend on meds to function normally its a long road but I'm glad that I am in good hands.

Michael Carney is an awesome person and a great counselor. I was recommended to him by family and friends that have seen him and they love him. He is caring and easy to Talk to. He is very honest and has gone above and beyond to helped me dealing with my past family deaths, childhood and my addiction with alcohol. I become stronger and stronger everyday thanks to him. Mike is great at what he does. My husband and I have been going to Mike for almost a year and he has really helped us. Mike brings a different perspective and ideas of how to look at situations that has really improved the communication and strength of my marriage. I would highly recommend him. Sometimes you might have wait in the waiting room for just a bit after your appointment time but if you want a truly helpful counselor...you wait. He will definitely spend that extra time with you as well when you need it.

Do not go near this therapist. Does not understand the concept of addiction AT ALL and has no idea how to provide therapy for it. Claims an alcoholic is able to drink as long as it isn't "excessive". Terrible with marriage counseling - has a difficult time staying neutral. Has actually provided MORE harm than good in marriage counseling and instead of saving a marriage that was salvageable, has turned it into a full blown custody battle/nasty divorce. Other than that - personality is totally douche bag-ish. Don't bother with this guy, save your money and your marriage.

I would highly recommend Mike Carney! Our experience has been above and beyond my expectations. My son and I have been seeing him for his bad life choices. He's been a lifesaver. He has connected and guided my 25 year old son when dad and I could not. My sons comments are; he's caring, relatable, he really listens and addresses my concerns and it's a comfortable environment.

We have consistently seen good results from him and I feel strongly that he is a valuable asset in our community. He works very hard to ensure that goals are set and that there is a reasonable plan in place to achieve those goals. I recommend him highly for many of my patients and he is one of just a handful of therapists that we will refer to outside of our own office.

An incredible guy and an even better therapist. I was diagnosed with severe clinical depression over 25 years ago, so I know a little about therapists. Several years ago, my therapist passed away and as you can imagine, was reluctant to start over with someone new. As is the nature of depression, the option of self remedy was quickly closing. Tried several, worked with one for months and realized we weren't moving forward. Then I was referred to Mike. He has me figured out cold!!! He knows where I am and where I can go. I'm excited to go to my appointments and best of all, my wife likes ME!!!

Made two appointments with Mike Arlington...the first time he canceled the morning of the sppt. and suggested later that week. Never heard back. My wife was impressed so I made a second appt. And you guessed it. I got a text while I was parked at the center to delay our APPT. For an hour... I dont feel like he respect the time of vlients.

I LOVE Mike!!! The very thought of therapy was kind of heavy, but after I got in there, it was MORE than comfortable! He offers multiple ideas, thoughts and opinions, AND listens and accepts yours in return. He offers great advice outside of your personal relationships to help you improve upon them and yourself. In turn, I've been able to open my mind to perceiving situations from other people's perspective, which helps with understanding and self control. He's down to Earth, open, honest, funny, and respectful. I can't say enough great things to describe my experience! Highly recommend him if your looking for a comfortable place to rediscover and improve upon yourself, your relationships, and your life! Thanks SO much Mike!!!

I have been going to Carney off and on (as I have need) for about 4 years. I have a chronic condition and whenever I need to get in, I'm able to and he's always helpful. I contacted several therapists and psychologists (male and female) prior to choosing Carney. All of them were very, "you're going to sit on my couch, talking about your feelings, I'll tell you it's all your dad's fault and pat you on the back and send you on your way all better." Carney was the only one who talked about a plan and course of action. He's honest, he helps you realize things that you're doing wrong and then come up with a plan to help you. I know I can trust him and always feel safe in his office. I never recommend anyone else! And I always leave his office feeling more confident.

Carney has canceled on us 2 out of the 3 scheduled visits same day last minute through text message. I own, manage and still drive at my logistics company and schedule my entire week around these appointments. Woke up at 3:30am this morning to make a roundtrip to Odessa TX and back to be on time for my 630pm appointment so I wouldn't disappoint my wife. (PS Friday rates are double)

Its very hard for me to read someone say he knows nothing about addiction. I have been to several counselors and Michael by far knows more about addiction. He has taught me very good things in regards to relationship. If you want the truth and not have someone bs you then he IS the counselor to see.

Mike is so easy and fun to talk to and I always enjoy and look forward to my appointments with him. He has a way with connecting with people and makes you feel so comfortable the minute you meet him. I have learned so much in the past few weeks and now have a new perspective in how I view everyday life. He is so funny, smart and caring and gives awesome advice! Speaking only from personal experience, he gives hope to the hopeless, makes sure his clients are comfortable, and provides excellent tips techniques to potentially reverse years of maladaptive habits his clients have developed to cope with stress and trauma. If you are the type of person who has never quite "clicked" with any particular therapist, Mike is the guy for you.
