A very complete examination done for my adolescent son. Respectful and knowledgeable meeting conducted in his office. We learned so much about my son’s strengths and weaknesses. Recommend Dr. Cannell strongly. Came highly recommended from other professionals.

As my psychologist would put it, not every psychologist is right for everyone. Dr. Cannell is appropriate for my parents, but not for my sister or me. He didn't help my sister's condition and arguably made her worse with his involvement. He never even bothered to let her know it's an actual disorder that's difficult to treat for whatever reason. As for me, I always thought Dr. Cannell was always far off concerning my issues. Overall, I think he's helpful only if you're easily influenced by others or have no other option concerning minor issues.

We are so very grateful to have found Dr. Cannell! Our pediatrician's office as well as our school's principal BOTH highly recommended him when our son was experiencing some learning difficulties. Dr. Cannell took the time to gather feedback from us as parents, our son's teacher, his tutor, and the school principal. It felt reassuring to know that he listened to all input before performing his evaluation. Our son felt very comfortable, as Dr. Cannell is kind, encouraging, and compassionate. The results were thorough and clear, and Dr. Cannell is willing to communicate further to make sure we understood the conclusions and suggestions in his report. Since we had such a positive experience with him initially two years ago, we sought his help a second time this year when we faced some new challenges. His insight has been so valuable to us, and we know that we can count on him should any need arise in the future!

I agree with the other review. Old school education and doesn't update his education in neuroscience. He doesn't believe in Neuroplasticity. I asked he said 'no' and commented on luminosity advertising removed by FDA with a big smile. School edu advance person called him. She is against my son staying at the private school and she influenced him. After he gave me the numbers he then gave me several reasons to remove him from school. Numbers don't lie but liars use numbers. I guess he forgot i paid $1800 for unbaisd exam and unbiased report. In the meeting, he said my son can never improve. He also played with his wedding ring which is an indication of insecurity. Before making an appt & paying, ask if they believe the brain can improve itself (Neuroplasticity); if he/she offers constructive advice; & make sure negative people (who fear losing their job) do not speak with them until it is all complete esp the lil meeting after the exams. I learned my lesson. I will be getting a 2nd opinion from an updated, educated, innovated, positive, confident medical psychologist. The private school uses him, i guess thats why he swayed toward her suggestions. Fortunately the exam was complete before he was influenced. Some people think they r god. When he realized i was not taking his pitch, he quickly ended our meeting. He never asked if i had questions. He had a hard time explaining the numbers. He had a hard time explaining the exam. I question his capability. I am sad to think of people who believe everything they hear. The couple that left before me, looked so sad. Before u pay $1800, research, read reviews, and ask questions. Look up Ted Talk Neuroplasticity on youtube. Problems are puzzles waiting to be solved. I wrote this because I believe the brain is amazing. This guy is a stick in the mud and will never find his end in the corn maze. I want others to know there are much better people out there to find solutions to your puzzle. This guy will confuse you and shut the door on any possibility. He called me on Sunday to make appt on MLK holiday. I was excited thinking he was going to be helpful toward my son. My appointment was a disappointment. I hope you find someone who can help esp for $1,800.00
