Dr. Brett has significantly impacted our lives. Before seeing him, my husband and I were struggling to deal with the emotional issues of our 3 year old son. Our son experienced a large amount of brain trauma at 2 weeks of age, primarily in the areas of the brain that control executive functions such as decision making, emotions, etc. Dr. Brett continues to help us navigate the waters of our son's extreme anxiety, behavioral, and sensory issues. He has given us hope and equipped us with the tools to help our son continuously improve. We are forever grateful!!!!

Talking to Dr Brett Shapiro has been a great experience for my son. My son is very comfortable talking to him about anything that troubles him. He enjoys talking to him if there is a problem at school or home. Sometimes he just likes to talk to him about sports and fun things as well if he is not feeling any anxiety. He looks forward to his his visits and it has made him more comfortable expressing his feelings at home! Our pediatrician recommended him highly to us for our son and his stress at school because he was putting so much pressure on himself to do all his work perfectly. He has become more relaxed and we as a family have benefited from Dr. Shapiro's expertise! Highly recommend him!

My child has seen Dr. Shapiro for nearly two years. The amount of progress that Dr. Shapiro has made with him is impressive. Our child is much more expressive, less angry, and his grades and sports performance have improved tremendously. Dr. Shapiro is a very kind man, who understands what kids, especially teenagers, are going through, and does a wonderful job of helping them talk through the issues, and arrive at actionable plans. And most importantly, establish future coping behaviors to get them further in life. Life sucks, for everyone at some point; there’s no easy path. But Dr. Shapiro’s gift is helping people understand that even though life can suck, it isn’t insurmountable and happiness isn’t a destination...it’s an adventure. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I’ve had my son tested for autism spectrum issues, as well as IQ with Dr. Brett over this past summer. While it’s an extensive test, I’m extremely happy about how thorough the results and reports are. It’s shed a great deal of light on how far my son has come in younger years with vision, speech, occupational therapies, along with various medical and dietary interventions. It was amazing to see how the results reflected that he probably used to struggle with OCD, as he definitely did, but is within the normal ranges these days. While I have been aware his IQ was high, I wasn’t aware just how high it actually is. This is extraordinary insight and useful information moving forward. My son was, in fact, deeply grateful to understand the results, as well as credit he deserves for all the hard work he’s put in over the years. He had, formerly, tested somewhere on the spectrum medical at the age of 5. Additionally, last summer, Dr. Brett administered an IQ test for my daughter. She said it was a piece of cake, and enjoyed taking it. She said Doc is funny and amusing while giving the test, unlike longer tests at school that are boring, in her words. The results and reports, again, were very thorough and useful to have moving forward with the school system. I would highly recommend his testing services for any parent in need of adequate, thorough and highly understandable reports for personal or medical or educational necessities. Thanks, Dr. Brett!

Dr. Shapiro has been a tremendous help to our daughter, helping her deal with anger and giving her and us as parents practical solutions to everyday problems. He helped to build a safe place for our daughter to talk and helped us build a bridge of communication to be able to understand her even better. Although my son was not formally diagnosed with any specific condition, Dr. Shapiro has been instrumental in helping him overcome some emotional obstacles. Dr. Shapiro's approach of listening to the parents and then seeing the child helps to coordinate appropriate tactics for improving my son's self-confidence and enhance his overall happiness.
