I made an appointment on 4/2/19 for 4/10/19 at 8 AM. I put it in my phone while I was talking to the woman. I was told I’d have to be established as a new patient again since it had been some time since I had been and would be seeing Amanda. I arrived at 7:50 AM and signed in. I waited. One young girl was called back and was accompanied by her mom and another woman. They came out and said she had just been sitting back there waiting for the nurse and asked who was in charge and who was the manager. I couldn’t hear what the receptionist said. Then another woman was called up and the receptionist couldn’t verify the insurance for her little boy so she was on the phone with their insurance company for at least 30 minutes trying to get what the receptionist said she needed. At 8:35 I was called up. She said I couldn’t find you on our schedule and it looks like you were put down for 8 tomorrow. I said I would not have made an 8:00 appointment for tomorrow because on Thursday’s I take my daughter to preschool and I have a physical therapy appointment. It was definitely today. She asked me to sit and said she’d talk to Amanda. She called me back up and said Amanda has an 8:45 and is already double booked so we will have to reschedule. I said I don’t think it’s right I sat here for 40 minutes already and I got a babysitter and I can’t be seen. I made the appointment because I need help. She said yeah I had to wake up at 5:45 and bring my 3 year old to work so I’m having a rough day too. (Her child was in the floor) She asked if I would be willing to see someone else, I said sure. I’m a new patient so I don’t even know Amanda. She said you weren’t just here on the 3rd? I said no. I haven’t been here in 2 years. She said I have someone else that has an 8:45, I said that will be fine, that’s just a few more minutes. She said no, he already has an 8:45, he can try to work you in at 9:30. I said this was the office’s mistake and the whole situation is unacceptable. I shouldn’t have to sit here 2 hours to be seen when I got here early for my 8:00 appointment. She was very rude and did not apologize or seem to care at all about the situation. I ended up leaving. Every patient there was having some issue. The receptionist looked unprofessional and was totally incompetent and should definitely not be working with mental health patients. God forbid if that was someone’s one time to reach out for help before they did something to hurt themself. Shame on Lifecare.
