Here is my honest opinion - I was referred to this office through another physician, which may have expedited them scheduling with me. I do not know, but it sounds like others have had trouble getting in touch with the office. The initial visit is scheduled by someone who works from home and only works through email or text, and that can be frustrating although my experience was that she responded very promptly and I actually preferred this as I am very busy during normal business hours. Further visits were always scheduled at the office when I was done with my appointment and I never had any trouble scheduling, as long as I scheduled in advance, usually about three weeks out and then another appointment for 3 weeks past that. The office staff I encountered were always very kind and attentive, although I only ever went one day of the week each time was on the same day so I only ever saw the same office staff person, never any others I cannot speak for anyone else that works there. I had a perfect experience with insurance, co-pays, etc. Everything was billed correctly and in a timely manner, and they updated me with any information as soon as possible. One big difference to mention between people's experiences is not only the provider that they see obviously, I also only saw one provider, so I do not know about any others, but also the purpose of the visit. when you get an initial appointment scheduled they are either scheduling you with a purpose primarily of counseling or a purpose primarily of medication management, and that determines who they schedule you with. It sounds like those who have asked for help managing medications have had a much less positive experience than those who have gone strictly for counseling such as myself. So do keep that in mind when reading these reviews. Finding a counselor who would accept my insurance in the Nashville area was extremely frustrating and almost impossible, but the Evelyn Frye Center will file insurance and that is a huge positive in my opinion as most others will not and force you to file it yourself while paying out-of-pocket. As a college student this was financially not feasible for me and I am so happy that I have had a positive experience. Counseling is not one size fits all and some counselors will not connect with some patients well but are perfect for others. I have had multiple experiences in the past with counselors that just did not fit what I needed, so I had to seek another. My first counselor at the EFC has been a perfect match, so I don't know any others there but I would encourage anyone with a bad experience to seek another counselor before giving up. Hope this was helpful.
