If i could put one star i would. They over medicate their paitents, the staff are unhelpful and rude. They NEVER respond back from the pharmacy for refills after their "psychiatrist" left. Its awful.

I have been going to The Saluda Center for at least seven years now. I started with Mildred Hathaway (great lady). She retired and I was assigned to Laura Dunn (also a great lady). I was called in April 2018 just before my upcoming appointment with Laura Dunn which was scheduled for 4/30/18 to be informed that Laura no longer worked there and I was then assigned to Jennifer Stutts. My appointment was changed to 5/7/18. No problem. Beware though, folks. On that first visit, I along with others waiting for our scheduled appointment were taken to the back and handed a drug test cup...never have I had to do this, but no problem because I understand alot of people are not taking their meds (selling on the streets instead) so I had no problem with this. However, no one explained why the change but I went about my usual visit. Well, between that visit and my November appointment, I received an invoice from MAKO Laboratory for $65.70 for the drug test. It had gone through my insurance and this was what I owed. So, I paid the bill. November appointment comes. As I'm in my session with Stutts, I pulled the invoice from my purse with the attached paid receipt and showed her because I wanted some clarification as to how often will this be done etc... She immediately told me that I was NOT SUPPOSED TO HAVE PAID THAT BILL. How was I to know. Since then I have been talking with staff and they keep saying they are working on it but I keep having to call them for updates to no avail! I just keep getting thrown to voicemail!!! So I get into my 'PI mode" and pull my insurance info up and start scrolling through my EOBs... Low and behold, I see where Saluda Center sent a claim for my visit on 4/30/18 (which had been rescheduled for 5/7/18) and also another claim for 5/7/18.... Can we say BUSTED?!!!!! I can only assume they are ticked with me seeing as I immediately had my insurance company on their tails... I still haven't heard a peep from them concerning reimbursement of my money. I think I'm at the point of contacting BBbureau. And I'm going to find another facility because I am totally disappointed at this point. Look over your insurance claims folks because I'm sure I wasn't the only one!!!!!!!!!!

All of the staff have been friendly and helpful. They've helped me with a condition that I've been fighting since adolescence... We have a ways to go but so far, I like them. However, due to the loss of my favorite physician and various other changes I had lost my faith in this practice. I've loved the staff, and have been treated with respect mostly, and after a rocky road, we've rediscovered our connection with each other. They have done a few light, but impressive face-lift procedures to their team, building and procedures, and it would seem that everything has balanced itself out to a neutral and safe space. There was a great loss in my original physician, but I've gained a bit of hope as my prescriber is currently one who has paid great attention to what I've said, and may have adjusted me to a good place. I also must say that my experience with the counseling side of treatment has been great to excellent; at one time I may have said that my counselor wouldn't be a good fit, though through these years I've learned that facing a new personality is just like facing a new subject in school... Learn it! I had to learn to ask questions because as I can read my mind, my counselor cannot. I'm also excited for upcoming appointments with them, as my most recent appointments hsve shown the progress that I have been craving. As I ask more questions, the counselor may learn to read me BETTER than I can read myself! Fingers crossed In conclusion, I place this at a hearty 4 for the month of May! I have hope that they can push me to a 5 in the upcoming months. There are a good number of personalities, so if you need gruff, they have it. It didn't work for me. Regardless, thank you for reading my long-winded post.

Been coming here since about July 2017. Everything was perfect until my doctor relocated to work elsewhere in Columbia. Ever since seeing a new doctor and their change of procedures for prescriptions there has been issues ordering my medications and me being able to pick them up Consistently for Several months. Right now its been about 2 weeks and im still not able to pick up my medication. I showed up and waited behind a line for my appointment then was denied seeing my doctor at all unless I wait until 0940 or reschedule. Its a 2 hour round trip making it here and under these circumstances and situation if they actually cared you would imagine at least a minute of their time for you. Now im off unmedicated and looking for a new provider and I got 45 minutes to do so before I will get way too busy with my busy schedule. I get screwed yet again. The least I can do now is WARN you don't come here. Its not the same anymore. Go anywhere else... Dani F.

Horrible facility - difficult to get appointments, unprofessional and just plain rude to people who already have a fragile mental disposition!! They even charge a $50 fee for missed appointments no matter what the reason!! Do yourself a favor and find a much better clinic.

My wife and I are current patients at the Saluda Canter and it has been the worst experience ever! (I wish there was an option for NO stars). Over this past month, we have both had appointments cancelled with only a few hours notice. Because we are running low on medication this is obviously a HUGE issue! My wife called to reschedule her appointment and was told there was nothing they could do bridge her medication and is looking as if she is going to have to go 2 weeks without it. Sadly, the same thing happened to me! I am a mental health professional and am sickened by there unwillingness to do right for their patients. If any other veterans get a referral to this center, call Tricare and try to get it switched! I am truly disgusted! Centers such as this are part of the reason people give up on their mental health!

BE wary of Guy. He supposedly is a marriage counselor, NOT! He imposes his personal feelings and beliefs on his patients. A marriage counselor who thinks that marriage does not involve compromise. He needs to go back to school and learn that his personal beliefs are not appropriate when counseling others. When I moved to another therapist at a different facility they were surprised to hear such a ridiculous idea. Therapists are there to help you not impose their personal beliefs. I almost ended up divorced until a good friend suggested I try someone else and I can happily say my marriage is back on track with joint work and yes, even compromise.

I've always had a very positive experience working with the office and counseling staff at the Saluda Center. I give them 5 stars +.

I have been visiting a psychiatrist here for over 2 years. He is helping me cope with my PTSD and some other issues I have from serving in Vietnam. He doesn't always tell me what I want to hear but he does give me sound advice and suggestions on how to work through the things I can. And the prescriptions he has me taking help me throughout the day and night while still allowing me to function and be productive during the day. He has helped me with the problems I have more than anyone at the VA ever did. All they wanted to do was give me drugs and keep me numbed. The doctor and the office staff have always been extremely helpful to myself and my wife. I will continue seeing them as long as I possibly can.

This was my first time here, so this review is more about Dr. Shah. I have been seeing him for roughly a year now and he has been the best that I have ever seen. We have a great plan and I have never felt better. He is truly a great guy and cares about his patients. He is also a guy that you can talk with and joke with as well. I will continue to see Dr. Shah until the day he retires! The absolute best!!

If I could leave half a star I would. The office staff is unhelpful, rude, and terrible.

I wouldn’t bother going since they have changed staff. Didn’t even bother to leave message that counselor was not even going to make my appointment and I had asked off from work.

So call and make an appointment 2 months out was the first available at NO time did they EVER tell me that we charge you up front for your deductable.... So I get there and they want me to pay $85 which I know damn will is way more than the insurance will let them charge AND I have already met my deductible for the year...... Don't waste to time.

Dr. Shah is an excellent psychiatrist and genuinely cares about his patients’ suffering while very knowledgeable concerning treatment options available.

This place is worthless!!!! Not only can they not get you in before 3 to 4 month, they don't answer emails, and their contact phone number rings busy when you try to get ahold of them. Way to run a business Saluda/McMeekin!!!!

I have been going to the Saluda Center for about 3 years now and I'm not over medicated . He listens to what I have to say and the feelings I have been going through . The staff has always been pleasant to me . I've called and I got the answering service and within 15 minutes my phone is ringing. The doctor is calling me back not the answering service so to me that's great . I'm very content.

Worst experience ever. If your suicidal dont go here they will make you jump! I schedule an apt with my counselor she cancels twice! One time she says she's on vacation and I dont know about the other time but I was starting to feel like she didnt want to see me until today. I take time off work show up and I'm waiting for her only when I finally see her she talks to the people at the front and then leaves and they tell me I waited and took time off work for no reason. I had already paid 30.00 and everything and they tell me sorry she is leaving for the day she was supposed to be off. What the heck! Then they say she doesn't have anything else for another 2 weeks! I have been trying to see her for a month this is ridiculous and unprofessional. I have never had such a horrible experience before. I ask for another counselor and they said they were all full. It's sad cause I really just need someone to talk to.

Dr, Mahir Shah, is a wonderful doctor, he completely changed my life, just with a stoke of the pen, changing my medicine and rediagnosing as ADHD, and reducing some of my medication. I feel alive again and I feel like the old me, but I'm a new me, now. For 20 years a had no emotions and no real feelings about anything. Now I can feel again, I laugh, I cry, I feel wonderful inside and beautiful outside and I'm happy all the time, always smiling now. Not afraid to speak to people anymore, and on a scale of happiest I'm always a 9 or 10. For the longest time I was a 6. For years. But Dr. Shah, in the last 2 month's, I've lost 20lbs, in enjoy life, I excrise again , I have more energy than no what to do with myself, and no more nightmares. I can now live my life to the fullest. I am, now dating and meeting new people and going out, where before for 8 year I stay home watching tv and eat freezer pops and candy. By reducing my medicine, i don't crave sweets anymore either. I'm a whole new person, thanks very much to Dr. Shah.
