my son went through a lengthly and expensive intake at Penn CTSA, and when he needed to see a psychiatrist for medication, there was not a psychiatrist on staff, because the one psychiatrist was on "maternity leave". I would imagine that a number of patients who come to this clinic may need medication in addition to therapy. as you can imagine, Penn was not our first rodeo, and i had really hoped to find a top notch doctor who was up on the research and who could help my son with therapy as well as med management. We spent hundreds of dollars not covered by insurance for the intake appointments! If not Penn, then where??? Back to the Philly suburbs to find yet another psychiatrist who is just that.
