Having worked in insurance for over 30 yrs. I have NEVER seen such incompetence in trying to get insurance approval to even get a consultation appointment. My insurance doesn't even require approval. If something is out of network, it should be my choice to accept or reject. Waiting 3 weeks and they say it could be a month. Definitely need education for customer service. No apology, no phone call for status, no specific information as to how long I have to wait (or how many are in front of me in the line). What line? Do you only handle one person at a time? Their lack of staffing has become my problem. Completely unacceptable, especially when you're in horrific pain. I now have no confidence that the rest of the facility has competency. I feel forced to go elsewhere.

I wasn't expecting miracles from PRA and admittedly I didn't experience any, however, what I did experience was very, very helpful on my road to recovery. My brain injury improved noticeably while attending their Brain Injury Rehab Center, but maybe more importantly, I gained tools to continue my recovery once I left. It's now been 14 months since I graduated from the program and I can confidently say that I am SO GLAD I went. I still deal with a couple of my sequela, but I'd say I'm 80% recovered (injury took place July 2015), and I'd attribute a good portion of my recovery to PRA.

Mario is a shining gem of a person and a physical therapist, and I’m so lucky I had the opportunity to work with him. As a nurse and as a patient who’s recovered from multiple musculoskeletal injuries with various types of practitioners and modalities, I’m keenly aware of the wide range in quality of care available, and Mario exceeded my lofty standards in his bedside manner, his skill, his ability to connect with me, and his professionalism. From our initial assessment, through the completion of our extensive physical therapy program for a gnarly, work-related shoulder injury requiring surgery, Mario consistently held the space for me to feel secure and safe in his presence. He reassured me by his skillful hands, his astute mind, and his on-point application of his knowledge. Mario’s particularly talented and astute with his palpation abilities. He immediately and accurately understood the nature of my injury this first time he laid his hands on my shoulder. His first assessment was about nine months after my injury. In this first assessment, Mario could feel crucial subtleties that had been missed in prior care from two physiatrists, an orthopedic surgeon, and another physical therapist, all of whom are highly regarded with shoulder care. Mario told me he could feel what the injury was by the way the adhesions had developed in my shoulder. He recommended I return to my orthopedic surgeon for a revaluation, and as was confirmed by additional imagining and ultimately surgery, Mario was completely correct in his assessment. Mario always demonstrated through his attentive presence and advocacy for me that my health and recovery were his primary concerns. He was clearly committed to our work, and I believed this entirely. During our sessions, I felt like my care was the only thing on his mind, and I even felt like I was his only patient. Before and after our sessions, I’d observe him have the same quality of focus and devotion to his other patients, and I loved seeing this. Mario instinctively met me where I was, and I moved through many places during my stressful and challenging healing process. He intuitively adapted his approach to my needs each day and with each phase of treatment, whether I needed a comforting gesture, encouragement, education, a belly laugh, gentle support, quietness, space for a good cry, playfulness and lightness, a serious conversation, a cuddle with a therapy dog, a creative solution, or even a good cooking technique! He cared for me with great kindness and exceptional ability, and I can’t adequately express how grateful I am that I got the chance to work with Mario during my recovery. Additionally, Nastashia, Chris, Amanda, Amy, and many others (including the dogs!) who were not assigned to my rehab, showed me care and concern that warmed my heart and made my physical therapy sessions even more special. I’m grateful for everyone’s involvement and support.

I was lucky to be referred to PRA a few years ago after 3 failed back surgeries. The staff there is so compassionate and helpful, definitely among the best I've experienced. More importantly the alternative kinds of physical therapy they trained me in have been immeasurably helpful since I went through their program. I use things they taught me every day. They gave me tools to manage my pain and stay very active, which is great since my pain isn't likely to ever go away. Prior to going there I was in constant pain and starting to get depressed about the surgeries having failed. Now, I'm happier and healthier and manage my pain far more effectively. Admittedly I was skeptical at first, but am a true believer now that I have the training they offer. It is way different from many other physical therapy clinics I'd been to in the past. Plus the things I saw them do for other very critical patients while there, were nothing short of miraculous! I'd highly recommend PRA for anyone who is dealing with chronic pain in life and wants to reduce their dependence on medications and live a more active life.

I was lucky enough to photograph for PRA for their marketing and website material. As a photographer it is my passion to find truth and capture it. I see everything that happens behind my lens. And the genuine love and tenderness that EVERY employee had for their patients was powerful to see. No one works there, they are called to those positions. I would recommend PRA to anyone in need of rehabilitation.
