Went in here for my first time and while waiting I heard, who I assume to be Dr. Vivian, saying racial slurs when referring to patient. I hope I heard this out of context but for the time I cannot recommend any one sane go here.

Joshua Neace

Calls people mentally retarded without evidence.

Dr. Vivian is awesome! I have suffered from anxiety and depression since losing a child. I have seen 4 different doctors over the course of 6 years and Dr. Vivian is by far the best! I got in within a couple of weeks (unheard of in psychiatry field), he spent so much time with me and truly listened. For the first time, I felt validated and that he truly believed what I told him I was experiencing. And on the second or third visit, he gave me free samples of a very expensive medicine I am on. I am so grateful to have found him!!

We started on a down note. He doesn't give away RX's...you have to talk & talk & talk to him before he gives you a prescription. If you have the information to give to him!

Kat Wolf

I’ve only been seen at this office three times but each encounter with the staff and providers have been great! The receptionists are friendly and helpful, wait time is average/respectable (15-30 minutes depending on provider). So far I’ve only been seen by Dr. Vivian once but he seemed very down to earth and genuinely invested in my care rather than making a black-and-white diagnosis. I can see how he may come off a bit dry and blunt but he is far from a cruel doctor and we got along famously. I look forward to continuing my sessions and working towards a common goal with this staff! I would recommend this office to any and everyone searching to better their mental health!

Very condescending. Very Rude. Total waste of money, don't go here!

Kiri Pasch

This place is actually the first I've been to that really takes the time to figure things out.

We have been going to Dr. Vivian since 2014. He is always so kind and understanding to my daughter even with all the challenges she faces. We have had nothing but great experiences with Dr. Vivian and his staff. He has gone above and beyond to help our family. Some people complain about their wait time for their appointment (other people in the waiting room area with us) but I know from experience sometimes he needs extra time for his patient to provide the proper help they need. We are truly grateful for his time and patience.

Don't go here. Nobody should have to be treated so horribly when trying to get help.

He doesn’t care. He didn’t give me my meds, the wait is hours after your scheduled appointment, he’s In it for the money.

I am just like most. Read all the reviews you can find and take them with a grain of salt and try to make a decision as an informed patience/consumer. If you don't understand "the squeaky wheel" scenario remember, those that are treated poorly tend to vent the most. Those that find help in the service tend to stay quite. To be exact, I've never seen Dr Vivian. Would not know him from Adam if we passed each other on street today. But in my search for a new provider I have passed through his office and the system he has in place to be seen. Here's the deal. I could go on for some time about my brush with his staff. Here's the long and short of it. I found his office process stiff and cold. Being screened prior to being seen is not new. I'm sure this is done in many settings. Office staff was less than cheerful so I see why this has been remarked on. But here's the rub. If your being seen by others for other conditions in your life and your honest with your interview you may well be denied services or even being evaluated further. If your a new Ohio Medical Marijuana patient and have the need for psychiatry don't bother wasting your time here. This is viewed as, and I quote, "street drugs" and if your truthful in your intake you will be told that Dr. Vivian does't see people who do street drugs. So, that being said, I am still looking. I would suggest you do the same. Don't start with a dead end and being treated like a social pariah for the help you seek. I am sure there are much better choices in the area. Find a group who is more in tune with today's world not holding on to the past.

Dr. Vivian and his associates are fantastic, its the front window that needs a course on how to talk to people. I've gone here for years and calling or dealing with the office staff at all has always been a nerve racking and terrible experience. To keep my appointments and prescriptions up to date, I call or see them every three months and I have purposely run out of medication I need to avoid dealing with them. They always have a snippy tone, and a bad attitude. If I wanted to be spoken to like I'm stupid or inconveniencing someone every time, I would just got to the BMV in Batavia.

My grandmother has went to Dr.Vivian for a few years. She doesn't have transportation so I have had to provide so a good few times for her. I have nothing bad to say about the office staff or Dr.Vivian. From what I've saw with my grandmother the front desk staff have always been kind, cheerful, or upbeat in some way. If they are rude to anyone you must take into consideration sometimes people have bad days, as do you. No need to judge a whole office on one opinion. But we do live in a biased society, it's like follow the leader. I have read through these reviews, and my own person opinion reflects on what was done or not done for you. My grandmother hasn't ever mentioned anything bad about the doctor or the services. She has mentioned the wait time sometimes exceeds limits and I have been there and sat longer than her appointment time but what doctor is really on time anyways.

Jennifer Perkins

I was there one time and then seen his therapist 2 times,do not go there, all he wants is the money! He did not give me any anxiety meds then he upped my depression medication, and then my insurance will not pay for it

Erika Gaul

Very dissatisfied with Dr Vivian. Met with him once and within only a couple minutes of "listening" to me, he made alot of inaccurate assumptions about my life and my past. DO NOT recommend him at all.

Brandon Richter

The office workers are just rude majority of the time. Snap at you and you never get a straight answer.

Nina Marx

Just got off the phone with this office-6 weeks to see a psychiatrist, when someone is severely depressed is a waste of time!!

Lobie 1Kenobie

Called and scheduled appt. and gave them insurance information over the phone. I then attended 3 sessions and by the 4th session was advised that the counselor I was seeing was not approved by my insurance (Anthem) and I would have to pay out of pocket for my visits even after I paid my co-pays. Even though it was their screw up they were insisting I pay or it would be sent to creditors. Absolutely horrible office staff that would screw up so badly and cost me way more than I should have paid. Do not recommend!

I missed one appointment by accident, and being someone with severe ADHD and them knowing this, they had 0 regard for that and charged me 75$ for a missed appointment right? Not even the bad part. A week later, after waiting 2 months total, I go in for a perscriber appointment and now THEYRE running late and break my appointment and the earliest I can go back IS ANOTHER MONTH LATER. NOT ACCEPTABLE. so their logic is if they miss an appointment for you, you have to wait another month. If YOU miss the appointment though, guess you're paying them money!!! Horrible office, good doctors thoigh unfortunately which sucks because I liked my doctor but I can't deal with this office anymore

A lot of negative reviews here, some of them seem very warranted, some of them do not. Dr Vivian is, undeniably, very brusque and has a rough 'bedside' manner. My first appointment with him, I didn't like him because he did come across as judgmental and incredibly rude. However, I only had to see him once every 6 months. It was because of my counselor that I see intandem with him that I stuck with this practice... AT FIRST. I've been seeing both my counselor and Dr Vivian for almost 4 or 5 years now and my opinion of Dr Vivian has changed. He does require you to talk to him before prescribing you medication, which I think is a good thing. It gives him an idea of whether or not he needs to adjust your meds and helps him stay personable with you when he sees so many patients. He knows me by name, remembers my issues, and talks to me about things I find interesting. Yes, he has obvious opinions that perhaps he shouldn't share in a professional setting, but he is human and I don't fault him for that. He is not someone to talk you through hard times and as far as I know, he isn't meant to be. When I started seeing my counselor, I was told that I would need to see both of them in order to maintain getting prescriptions. Which means my heavier issues - the issues that I need to talk through - go to my counselor and Vivian gets my summed up versions, he gets my medication questions. He is not meant to be my sounding board. My biggest complaint is with the front desk. They can be rude, they can rush you off the phone, and they're never there to take my copay (which is problematic when I get a bill); however, whenever I've called them about my bills... they've fixed it. They fixed my insurance when I saw there was an issue and they always do their best to get me in to see Dr Vivian as soon as possible. Sometimes finding a psychiatrist or a therapist takes time, I went through 6 before finding Dr Vivian and my counselor there, so if you felt uncomfortable with him... then that's okay. But if you're the type of person who reads reviews and then stakes an opinion solely on them, you could possibly be missing out on someone who can truly help you. Good luck.

The doctor's are fine, but the receptionists are the absolute worst I've ever seen. They're short with everyone, snarky, and didn't even call me to remind me of my appointment. Nor did they call to check up on me when I missed my appointment. Don't schedule to do anything right after your appointment because you will be left waiting multiple times. Up to an hour at times. I would consider leaving this practice due to lack of care from the receptionists and the absolute disregard for the customer's/patient's time. There is a reason this place is rated so low.
