I recently went to this office to be tested for ADHD, but have also been struggling with anxiety and depression. My appointment was scheduled the day after I returned from a week and half long trip. When I scheduled the appointment I was told I would be receiving some paper work to fill out before hand, but was never described to what extent the paper work was. So I just thought it was the usual insurance paper work. However, it was very extensive and I was not able to complete it before my appointment because it was sent to me while I was away. I arrived at my appointment without the paper work which I understand is my fault, but they should have turned me away and told me to reschedule. Rather than doing this, I was very overwhelmed by the receptionist trying to get my insurance info while the doctor was very rudely trying to get me through the necessary paper work and signatures so that we could start the appt. Then a third lady came out and started talking to me in the lobby in front of other patients and I was swarmed and overwhelmed by three different people all trying to talk to me at once. I was literally spinning in circles trying to answer everyone’s questions. After a very rough start, the doctor took me back to her office. She never once introduced herself and I honestly didn’t know she was the doctor. I was never informed how these appointments go and how they work. She rushed me through the paper work (that I should have completed) the entire appointment and never let me ask any questions. She kept referring to “the manual” and “the score sheets” and never explained anything. At one point she ended up changing one of my answers without me agreeing so I would meet some criteria. Like I said before, she rushed through the appointment and never explained anything to me and only wanted my money. When the appointment was over I was trying to ask her questions at the scheduling desk and at one point she just ended up walking away without saying goodbye. After arriving home from this appointment I immediately had the worst anxiety attack of my life because I left the office feeling so hopeless and overwhelmed. All the doctor wanted to do is write me a prescription and get me out of there. I had to schedule an emergency appointment with my family doctor just an hour after seeing this office to get me feeling better and to get a healthy plan of action together. This office was recommend by my primary doctor, but I made it very clear to them that this office should never be recommended and should not be in business. For a place that deals with mental health they make their patients feel absolutely hopeless and further worsen any existing mental health condition.

Three weeks ago I put a call in. No call, no email, nothing! until today. I understand that people have varying degrees of problems, but no one was even prepared to make that determination until three weeks later. Most people have to be suffering pretty bad to contact a therapist, and to advertise that you have openings is pretty good indication that help can be found. But to not know and be in pain does more damage than good. I couldnt write this review and give them zero stars, so they get one.

My family and I go to the Dublin office on Sawmill Rd and have not had any complaints. I am amazed at the negative reviews I have read and just wanted to add my own positive one. The therapists that my daughters and I see are great and helpful. The girls trust theirs and have had no complaints about their sessions and I can't complain when I have been in the room with them (my daughters' choice if I am in there with them or not). The only thing I can come close to complaining about is not being able to schedule an appointment for my spouse but it is honestly understandable. I was there when a woman showed up for her appointment and learned that she went to the wrong office due to not knowing which one she was going to and going by the address for the main office. She was treated with respect and her appointment was rescheduled and the other office called to inform them of what happened. EDIT: So, my review still stands for me and our daughters, but my wife's therapist seems to be very unprofessional. She will be making her own review shortly.

This group may have good therapists but I will never know. I called for my 18 yr. old son suffering from OCD and was told he would have to call himself. Everytime he worked up the courage to make the call (which was NOT easy) he was transferred to voicemail and had to leave a message. And this was just to make an initial appointment. After several calls an appointment was set up only to be cancelled a week later when they realized that the provider was not covered by our insurance - despite the fact that he had given the office insurance information on multiple occasions. Over the course of three weeks he would call to reschedule and was always put through to voice mail. The ONLY person who could set him up with a provider was never immediately available and was often out of the office. Usually someone would call back in a couple of days later and leave a message for him. This went on and on! A full month after the initial contact I eventually called another group, spoke to a live person the first call and the next day he was able to make an appointment. What a frustrating experience. No urgency and very impersonal. They need a better intake system.

I tried to setup an intake appointment. It took 5 calls, 2 of which I talked with a receptionist to reach the intake person. The intake conversation was fine, however my confirmation email contained an incorrect date and time for my first appointment. I then had to call 4 times in order to connect with the receptionist to cancel my appointment. They recorded my DOB incorrectly, and had no appointment on file for me. When I asked to have all appointments for my name cancelled, the receptionist hung up on me. Fortunately, there are other places where I can receive the services I require. I cannot attest to the quality of their service providers, but their intake process is a nightmare. I have no desire to seek medical treatment of any kind from such a disorganized facility. I would suggest going elsewhere if you can.

Unfortunately they do not have a no star option. Called about a month ago to schedule visit and I was scheduled. Then I get a phone call later that week and they canceled the appointment. I asked why and they said they only wanted to do those types of appointments at 1:30. I told them I would have to call them back to reschedule. So I called today to schedule and the girl on the phone sent me to a voicemail saying to leave a message and we will get back to you within 3 days. So I called back again and asked if this was how they rescheduled the appointments that they cancel. The girl said she misunderstood and took my name and number and said they would call me tomorrow. Then I get a call about 15 minutes later and the girl said she would go ahead and schedule me, and so I did. Then I get a call about 45 minutes later saying they need to cancel my appointment again. I tell the girl on the phone about How they did this to me last time, so I ask for the office manager her name is Amy. So I an talking to Amy and I tell how I have changed my schedule to accommodate there schedule. She does not care she just said that the doctor was not going to do appointment that day and offers Tuesday which I can't make. I ask why they can't seem to schedule correctly. She says that they do. Well if you have to cancel twice on the same person I think most people would say that is inaccurate. So I ask her why they keep doing this to me she gives me no answer. I tell her this is the second time they have done this to me and she says that this is not what happened last time. But it is. She then proceeds to hang up on me not sure how they stay in business if this is what they do to you. I just wanna say that I did not curse or raise my voice but when I asked tough questions they didn't like it and just hung up on me. Long story short DON'T DO IT. TERRIABLE.

I love my therapist, Sarah. She's the only reason I still go here. Office staff are SUPER slow and always talking to each other, so they don't help you for awhile. Also, I've witnessed them multiple times talking about non work related topics and just allowing the phones to ring making it so patients receive voicemail often. The staff don't even attempt to answer the phone.

I have recently suffered a major traumatic event and needed help. On friday I called at 9 am and left a message, 2 hours later I called and left a messege, the again a few hours later I left 3 more messages. No one ever called back. I also sent an email on friday, and one one over the weekend. Here I sit on monday and still no call back or return email. Ridiculous. Dont waste your time..they obviously do not care about peoples mental health.

I saw one of their counselors for marriage counseling due to infidelity of my spouse. The therapist told me to never talk about the infidelity again with my spouse. She also spent a whole counseling session per my spouse direction, talking about my ex-husband and not getting to the root of our issues. She told me my ex-husband didn’t love my son because he asked me once for gas money and that I had low self-esteem that was from my ex-husband. Never once talked about how my low self esteem could have been from my current marriage and the affair my husband had. I did learn some things but because of what I mentioned above, I would never recommend this agency or go back!

Apparently after reading these reviews they have changed how the office staff works. For my visit the office staff were the only bright part of the visit. There was a very pleasant young man working the desk and he was very kind and helpful. Everything he said was with a smile and he really seemed to have a great personality to be working with the public. I had called earlier about a question I had and was called back within the next 20 minutes. I did not really have a problem getting an appointment either and had called three other times and always had someone answer the phone, so for that I am giving one star. The office visit though, I was just completely bewildered by. The Dr had come recommended to us and by more than one person in fact, so I was surprised that our visit was so odd and felt so off kilter. I really don't like to call people out personally, so I will just say this - if you are coming here for a child, looking for advice and or ADD/ADHD - please, make the effort to just go to Children's and get on the wait list, even if it's MONTHS away. As adults we need to do what we can to get the very best for our children. The way in which our appointment went - I can say that I was dissatisfied with a multitude of things and the way in which it all was presented. Again - Look into children's Hospital mental health instead. It's completely worth that wait.

I’ve had really positive experiences with this office over the past two years. The front office staff is pleasant, friendly, and helpful with scheduling. My experience with my therapist has been exceptional. I love her. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone in need

I am surprised by all the negative ratings. I see Patty at the Sawmill location and have nothing but good things to say about my fabulous counselor and the polite and understanding staff.

My experience echos what many others have said.... I finally got up the courage to call, waited patiently for 48 hours, no return call. Call the office back and was told it will be a full week before someone follows up with me to take the initial steps to get seen. This is unacceptable. People need help and they are putting barriers in place. I spoke to the manager and she could have cared less. Kept offering to take my name off the list. By the way, they say on their intake message that if you call multiple times it will take even longer for you to get a call back. Doesn't sound like a company that knows the audience they are dealing with. Very disappointed! Would not recommend.

What's the point of accepting new patients if you don't have time slots for their future appointments? Scheduling process is horrible, and I'm still not sure if my daughter will be treated, because "there is no available time right now."

I initially had a awful experience with CCBT, but Tammy reached out to me. Everything has now been resolved. I am thankful for people like Tammy that are willing to go out of their way to make things right.

In sum, this facility is a disgusting representation of the mental health field, and if you can help if you would be better seeking guidance elsewhere. Although I was not a client, my husband recently is, and after reading other Google reviews I now understand why he has had such a frustrating and miserable experience with this business. To say they are an atrocity to the mental health profession is an understatement; they constantly claim they will "call you back" or have the professional call you back regarding a question and never do. I'm glad he wasn't in worse condition, because this surely would have pushed him over the edge. How can you sit there and know that you are making patients continue to suffer due to the incompetence of your staff? Whoever runs this business would do better just packing up and leaving, because after seeing these reviews and having the experience we have had the past month, we will be informing both of the primary care physicians who referred him and tell them about the care he received at this facility - which was none. If you look at every review, the business even responds with excuses for their behavior and posts paragraphs of reasons as to why their office has been operating so poorly, always assuring the problem has been rectified, which it CLEARLY has not. Horrible business practices and customer service, and I agree with almost every other review that this should receive 0 or -1 stars instead of 1.

I’ve been trying for two months just to make an appointment I have no idea how this place could ever help me

Joann Ferrigno

If I could give a minus star, it would represent my contact with this facility. They are an insult to the profession. They do not return calls and if you call back, you are told you lost your place and it would takes even longer. When asked why it took so long, the response was they receive 500 calls a month and need to check out insurance; so obviously insurance is more important than the patient! This center is unprofessional and uncaring. If initial contact with the receptionist and office manager is an indication of this facility, this is not a place you want to get help. Do not waste your time. They are listed with Psychology Today which is a trusted magazine for the profession but they should be removed from their list. And if they receive 500 calls a month, there is a mental health epidemic in Columbus!

It's unfortunate that the first point of contact with Center for Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy of Greater Columbus is not trained or empathetic regarding crisis intervention. When working with people who are reaching out for help, staff must/should consider what brought this individual calling to this point. It takes a lot to admit there is a problem- especially regarding mental health. The stigma of mental/chemical imbalance is so great that many folks don't often reach out. So, when finally, the problem is so severe- regardless if the individual is still managing to function at work or home- it's reached a point where help is needed and greatly desired. Reaching out for help should be recognized as the "cry for help" it is. It's about the individual calling and not about what may be happening at the Center for Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy or the administrative assistant. The caller is seeking help. Phone tag to reach an initial point of contact, finally scheduling an appointment (weeks from when initial contact was made), cancelled appointment, snippy points of contacts when attempting to reschedule after being bumped around from admin to admin, requesting an appointment with ANYONE who can HELP, no empathy/patience with the caller, and no returned calls to set any appointment only exacerbates the caller- the person seeking help- more. Anyone reading this: It shouldn't be this difficult to get help! You simply called/was referred to the wrong place. Don't be discouraged! You are taking steps to get better. There is help out there. Call your healthcare provider- ask your doctor to NOT recommend this place and ask for another recommendation. If you are reaching out on your own, google "behavior health" and there are other options for you. Don't give up.

We took our 7 year old to be evaluated for possible ADHD today. Upon arrival the receptionist talked on the phone for 15 minutes about tables and an upcoming personal event she was going to attend this weekend? Seriously? We were new patients bringing our child in and were not even greeted until 15 minutes after our appointment time? Three other patients came in during this time. She never got off the phone to greet or assist? Horrible customer service. Not to mention my son had to use the restroom and had to wait ten minutes for the girl to get off her personal phone call as the door was locked. It gets worse. We go into the evaluation and the psychologist who handled the ADHD evaluations was awful. No personality. Ignored half of my questions. Only seemed to care about the "scores" on the paperwork and "how they added up"? Seriously? She is a psychologist who does not know how to talk to people. Where is her compassion? There was none. Basically- change these answers and we have a diagnosis. DO NOT GO HERE! Wait the three months to get into Children's Hospital. This was Terrible!!!! I should have read all these terrible reviews before we scheduled! Thank goodness for good insurance. We are only out $23 dollars. But I am seriously very upset by this person we saw. Terrible experience all around!

I have not been to this place yet, just left a voicemail. I think it’s important for everyone to understand that this group deals with more complex types of mental illness. Would you take on let’s say, more pets, if you were already having trouble caring for the ones you have? While the office staff complaints may be justified, don’t knock the practice as a whole. These guys are probably dealing with crisis and the aftermath of trauma daily, from people who they know to the core. I read somewhere down there that they’re taking in hundreds of new intakes every month. Have a lil understanding, and for kids, always go to children’s. For anything, they’re the professionals.

A. Dawson

After finally deciding to schedule an appointment to seek help with some issues I had been dealing with from a recent traumatic experience, the counselor I was assigned to spent half of our first appointment going over her “rules” and informed me that she enjoys a “consistent paycheck” and how important my attendance is and continued to tell me that I would be charged $120 if I did not show for future appointments or cancelled last minute. I understand that rules and guidelines should be enforced. However, as an adult who finally decided and willingly reached out for help, I was extremely nervous about coming to my first counseling appointment and I felt her approach and choice of words were not only unprofessional but unnecessary. As my first experience to counseling, I was not only disappointed but also felt extremely discouraged.
