My daughter was seeing a therapist there - my daughter started an evening DBT group while seeing the therapist - my daughter benefits, greatly, from DBT - for various reasons, the therapist was not a good fit - my daughter was hesitant to change counselors, because she liked the group therapy and feared that she wouldn't be allowed to continue - a financial contract was signed that said she must be seeing a therapist at southlake, in order to be in the group - I can understand not taking patients from the general public - but I feel contract or no contract my daughter was already in the group and the business priorities should be her continued support and well-being - I understand not being able to enroll in the next group session - however, I find it very concerning that they put policy over a teenage girl's needs - my daughter deserves someone who cares about her

One star is too generous for that crook Wendyleigh Bodick. When I called to schedule my initial consultation I was told the visit would be no more than $20.00. I called the day of because I had misplaced my insurance card, and was told that my appointment would now be $140. I don’t have that kind of money and am sick and tired of people denying other humans the right to the mental health care and coverage that they need, just because they get a bonus check off the fact that someone misplaced their insurance card. It’s wrong and dehumanizing. I dare someone to talk to a suicidal HUMAN on the phone like I was just spoken to by the receptionist at this facility. It’s not right, it’s not kind, and it’s dangerous. They’re walking a fine line between not helping people and giving them the basic care they need and deserve, and having a liability lawsuit on their hands. I personally am going through a trauma and left this place feeling way worse off than when I arrived. Thanks for nothing Southlake Counseling. Real kind of you. Do NOT go to this place for your mental health needs. They don’t care.

I attended training with Kimberly Krueger and Wendyleigh Bodick and cannot say enough good things about the skill level of the clinicians at Southlake. As a clinician with 25 years of experience myself, it is often hard to find training that is challenging and helps me grow my skill set, but this team is on the cutting edge of treatment. Any client or clinician would be well served to work with someone on the Southlake team.
