The Walk-In Clinic (8am-10am M-F) was quick, easy, and extremely efficient! The staff was amazing! My children and I ALWAYS feel comfortable around the medical staff. My family and I HIGHLY recommend Carolina Pediatrics of Wilmington!!

Dr. Henderson has been great with my one year old twins since they were born and great with my four year old daughter. She has always respected my alternative choices towards vaccines and listens very well. We are very happy with her. :) I also like that they play Disney movies in the waiting room.

If I could give this office 10 stars I would. I have been so impressed with the office staff. The scheduling ladies are so helpful. We had a hard time getting all of our records from previous offices for vaccines. Paulina worked with me and helped me every step of the way. She was friendly, courteous, quick in responses and very professional. That in itself impressed me because you cannot find many friendly office staff at medical offices. It was a breath of fresh air!! When I went in this morning to get the vaccines from the nurse, I was seen quickly and the staff again was friendly, welcoming and professional. The nurse called us back, she explained in detail what the children needed, made sure I was completely comfortable with the number of shots given today and the side effects they may experience. I had had my youngest two in the office with me so I was short of a comforting parent today. After the nurse gave my son his shots, she turned to my little girl that was still upset from her shots and cradled her in her arms and comforted her!! It was so beautiful it almost made me cry. I have been so pleased with my whole experience with Carolina Pediatrics in Hampstead. Thank you all so much for your help!! I am so glad to have found your office.

Would give less than one star if possible. This office is only concerned about bottom line, not the well being of patients or potential patients. Don't waste your time with them their staff is not helpful at all. My wife and I were awarded custody of my her niece and the niece had Medicaid. My wife immediately called for termination of Medicaid and I added her to my insurance through my employer. Called them to set up a physical immediately due to other situations and they said that they needed proof of insurance. I worked with my employer and insurance broker to get them proof that day. They received proof and then required a release of medical records. No biggie, went gave them the release and asked them if they needed custody papers they said no, but then said they couldn't see her because she was a medicaid patient. I explained the situation and they had received the call from my insurance broker but they still refused to set up an appointment. They stated that they were not accepting Medicaid patients. They said they would need proof of termination but I could bring that back in later and they'd schedule an appointment as soon as I got that I asked if I could go ahead and do all the paperwork they said yes I asked if I needed to give them a copy of custody papers they said no. So I left feeling a bit let down because I wanted to get her in as soon as possible, due to my wife taking FMLA leave and it being dependent on her niece getting a checkup. After I left I got the idea that I could just pay cash I called back and I then offered to pay for the visit in CASH but they would not accept that either their staff stating since they didn't have custody papers and proof of termination. Which was different to what they said in the office. It just doesn't make sense to me that a business would not accept cash. They also said it would take up to 2 weeks to get proof of termination by which time my wife's FMLA leave would've run out. They could never clearly explain to my why they refused to take a termed medicaid patient, or why they refused to accept cash. The doctors are probably really nice but in my estimation it's not worth the hassle of dealing with their staff.

Our first visit and there is no doubt that we have found the pediatrician for us! The attention to detail from check in to check out was fantastic. The MA and the Nurse were caring and attentive. Dr. Egstrom was warm, inviting and prepared for our visit. Wonderful!

I recently took my daughter to the Hampstead office and she was seen by the nurse practitioner Cindy. This was the best doctor visit experience I have ever had. She was so thorough and caring. They followed up twice with us after we left the office over the next few days. The office in general is very friendly and very good at calling back ASAP.

I've been taking both of my children to Carolina Pediatrics since they were born. I feel that all the nurses and doctors we've seen (we usually see Dr. Adams, who is wonderful!) are very kind, professional, compassionate and knowledgeable. They have sick 'walk-in' clinic hours 5 days a week and are open on Saturdays for a few hours too. Its really helpful since kids get sick alot. Both of my kids have Medicaid and I feel very fortunate to have gotten them into such a good practice. Medicaid patients arent always given great choices for healthcare, but after searching online for pediatricians that accept it in our area, visiting websites and reading online reviews, I picked Carolina Pediatrics. Im so glad I did!! I plan to continue taking my kids here until they're too old to go

Dr. Mary Forehand at the Wilmington office absolutely makes this practice. Simply put, she is the best pediatrician I've seen. Ever. I have had my children with her for around 11 years now (2015) and have found Dr. Forehand consistently gentle, engaged, knowledgeable, practical, and kind. Barring emergencies, my children see her exclusively because of her trustworthiness, wisdom, and demeanor. The reception and nurse's station generally operate in a timely fashion and have always worked us in for any emergency issues. The financial/billing department could use improved customer relations including call back times, tone, and flexibility, but the practice is otherwise solid.

Sense of urgency dies not exist in thier vocabulary, my 4 month old was 9 days behind on shots when i made initial contact with Carolina pediatrics, as i explained to them when i first contacted them. After 12 additional days (daughter is 3 weeks behind now) they finally told me they could see her after another 11 days. They have walk in hours and refuse to take my daughter as a patient until she is over a month overdue on shots? Nonsense. Also, trying to get in touch with the billing department there (to figure out self pay costs) is nearly impossible. Unprofessional paper pushers, don't waste your time!

My experience with this business had been less than ideal. The reception staff and nurses are rude and unprofessional. The only reason we kept returning was because we really liked Breony Vinson. Did not have a pleasant experience with Dr Adams. My child had an ear infection and while examining my child the doctor was rude. Wife is currently pregnant; we found a pediatrician closer to where we live and decided to switch due to ease of location. It was nothing personal against Carolina Pediatric. However, they decided to send a letter stating because we switched, my family would never be able to return as a patient. I found this letter extremely unprofessional and rude. I will never recommended this place to anyone.

Love this practice!! Dr. Forehand has been my daughter’s pediatrician from the day she was born and has simply been the best! We have gone through some crazy health issues and I feel so blessed that Dr. Forehand was the one walking me through it all! She definitely helped me to navigate all the stress while encouraging me as a mom all at the same time. It’s so nice to have a doctor whose not only great with your child but with you as the parent too. They are also open half days on Saturdays and arealways available by phone to address your concerns and child’s needs. Every person I have met there, from the receptionist to the doctors, has been super friendly, caring, and helpful. I highly recommend them if you’re looking for an awesome pediatrician for your kiddos!

I chose this pediatric office at the recommendation of a trusted fellow mom, and I have not been disappointed! I was looking for a pediatrician/group that would see my twins from day 1 in the hospital. I preferred to have my pediatrician know their history from birth first hand. I met several of the doctors during our hospital stay after birth, as one of them came by daily to check on the babies. They were all very professional and knowledgable. We primarily see Dr. Henderson and we all absolutely love her! She is genuine, patient and so great with the little ones. They have an after hours nurse line which is very helpful and gives great peace of mind when a baby is sick in the middle of the night! The office staff is friendly and most of the nurses have been great. We would definitely recommend them!

Dr. Forehand is a dream of a pediatrician! She listens so well about your concerns and you can tell on your first visit how much she loves children. She always takes the time to listen to their voices too, not just mom or dads. When our twins were born, literally everyone I asked recommended her and I quickly understood why. My kids are almost 7 now, and she has walked with us through it all!

Got charged double because my 3 year old couldn’t give them a urine sample. They charged me for the appt and for dropping off the urine at another Time when the nurse said it would be ok. Then I tried calling to get it situated and the lady from billing refused to return my calls.

We have lived here for only a few months and have never had an issue getting a same day sick appt for any of our 3 children. Office staff is helpful and the doctors have been great! I love that it is close to my house as well because there is no need to drag sick kiddos all over town. I highly recommend them for fast and friendly visits even if it's just routine :)

Very rude, unprofessional office staff. They do not care about the patients, only money. I had an unconventional insurance situation and they were condescending and acting as if I was trying to rip them off. They also compared my situation to someone else’s, saying since that other person didn’t pay their bill, I wouldn’t. I have never met that other person in my life, yet they were acting as if I would leave a bill unpaid. I have never left a bill unpaid in my entire life. They would not listen to what I was saying, acting as if they knew my insurance situation better than me, despite even my insurance company calling them and speaking with them. I even broke down in tears in the waiting room one day in their office because of their rude, unprofessional behavior and they acted as if I wasn’t there. Also, the billing lady tried telling me what my veteran rights were based on what she knew from her husband being a veteran instead of contacting the appropriate personnel. Women veterans are 100% covered for reproductive health and their child is covered the first 7 days of his or her life. If she contacted the VA with the contact information they provided her in a letter they directly sent to Carolina Pediatrics, she would know that. I am not the middle man, especially since I don’t understand the insurance codes or forms. Again, the VA provided her with an information letter with contact phone numbers, links, and instructions to get the bills paid! Yet, I still try to facilitate communication between the VA and Carolina Pediatrics, but they hardly pick up and don’t return calls promptly, if at all. They also do not call back when they say they will. Completely unprofessional. I will be going to the BBB and any other resource available to push them to do their job and collect their money from the VA.

Doctors are nice but the wait times are horrible. Had an appointment for 11:00 arrived twenty minutes early and have been waiting over an hour to be seen. They seriously need to have a better scheduling system and be much more considerate of people's time.

An overall great practice. Each Doctor, nurse and staff member I have interacted with has been a true professional. The sick kid walk in hours from 8-10 each day is a huge convenience. The nurses always return your calls, and are a great resource of information. In my opinion, hands down the best pediatricians office in Wilmington!

We see Dr. Adams for well checks and my daughter, who has anxiety about new situations, always calms down when she walks in!
