I was diagnosed with ADHD a few years ago, and was on medication for it. I left the area, and got off the medication for about a year. After having various struggles with my disorder, i came back to Raleigh, and consulted best day psychiatry, to try to get back on my medication. The psychiatrist, was extremely quick to try and prescribe me antidepressants that I had no interest in. After explaining that I wanted to get back on my old medication, I was told that the psych needed to see “the results” of my diagnosis. After having to go through the trouble of making a doctors appointment to get the paperwork with the “results”, I paid to fax the paperwork to them, which they lost at first, so I again had to pay to send another fax, constantly calling to make sure they got the paperwork, and that the psychiatrist would review it. I have been given the ABSOLUTE RUN AROUND for a week now, and after learning the psychiatrist finally got around to reading the paperwork with my diagnosis on it, it still is apparently not sufficient enough for them to put me on MEDICATION THAT I HAD ALREADY BEEN ON FOR TWO YEARS. This is absolutely the most frustrating thing I have had to deal with in a while. This doctor does not care about my needs whatsoever. After being put through the ringer for almost a week and a half, receiving no calls back about the situation, having to call them every time to figure out exactly the status of my “results” I am probably just going to have to consult a different psychiatrist. This doctor wasted a huge chunk of my time. It should not be that impossible, to receive caring service, from a PSYCHIATRIST. I won’t use the doctors name, out of respect, but she has made this experience horrible for me.
