Great Doctor for pain

Renaye McDougall

Was accused of taking other pain meds, when in fact it was the head doctors charge nurse that made false accusations. Apparently she doesnt know how to read ones chart. Because when I first startex going there I was on Tramadol, but was switch to Morphine by doctor K. His head nurse Kayla, found that in my chart and didnt look at date and accused me of abusing pain meds. When 2 days later it came out that she was reading the chart from 2 years ago. Dont use tbis clinic they do not care about their patients they only care about how much money they can make.

Doctors and staff constantly yell at the poor girls in the front. Terrible place. I would never go here after hearing about what happens in this clinic.

This "doctor" invited me to come for a visit to determine if I would like to apply for a job as a Family Nurse Practitioner. When I arrived, he had mean start seeing his pain clinic patients as if I was working for him..I had no idea how his clinic operated etc.His wife is an RN co-owner..neither of them gave me an a interview..at lunch time, I still had not had a job interview, but he was charging patients I saw, as if he had provided the care. I informed him I was leaving to go eat lunch...when I returned he got angry and told me I never should have taken a break...he wanted me to start seeing patients again..I saw lots of red flags that gave me suspicion that patients were treated a bit codial to their faces, but were, called names and ridiculed outside the room door by the doctor/ owner of the clinic. I finally told them I would be leaving after working all day but not having an interview..so the doctor owner and wife took me into a restroom, closed the door, and said they wanted to hire me. Feeling threatened, I told them I would be in contact with them with my decision. The doctor called me at home repeatedly even after I informed them I was no interested in accepting employment. He kept calling me and leaving inappropriate messages...I was in fear of this guy and would never recommend anyone go to him for care, or work for him...I think there may have been insurance fraud, overtreating...watch out!!!

This place is a joke i was there for 2 hours and got nowhere. They wanted me to do a psychological eval for the arthritis in my foot. I had an mri done back home a few months ago and they wanted me to do 2 more and for what. I will never waste my time or $$ on this garbage

The doctor is terrible and the nurses are also pretty bad. They did half my procedure when the full procedure was schedule and I had to schedule the other half a different day! They then did the procedure incorrectly on the incorrect body part!!!! And they billed insurance incorrectly. They are very rude when trying to work through issues and put all blame on patient. After 3 procedures and 6-7 visits here, I would never refer anyone to this location.

i dont know how to even start this review because there is so much ground to cover.First dr.k is VERY pushy. If you dont want a risky only 50% succcess rate procedure done on you you will be pressured beyond belief to get it done along with being borderline insulted and critisized. Second....the wait times....my first apt had a 1 hr wait time BUT my follow up apt left me in the lobby for FOUR hours past my apt time before i could see him. Third...dr.k insulted his staff multiple times right in front of me.(some of his staff deserve it but it shouldnt be done infront of paitents) Fourth...They love cortico steroid injections!!!! an injection that destroys tissue and there not supossed to use(look for yourself)and they cant even do them correctly.my husband had to endure MULTIPLE stabs that lead him to worse pain AND THEY WERE DONE IN THE WRONG PLACE THAT WASNT EVEN THE LOCATION OF THE PAIN HE CAME IN FOR....the actuall location of pain was his shoulder NOT HIS L5,THAT WASNT EVEN BOTHERING HIM AT THE TIME! Fifth...MOST NOT ALL of the staff are condecending and rude. They act as if there above everyone, even the doctors themselves. If you didnt go to med school you need to stop budding your knowlegeless &^% into peoples lives and they DONT get that.So you end up with a completely inexperianced person making huge decisions in your life if you go here. Sixth..yes dr k spends the majority of the apointment bashing other pain clinics and hospitals and claiming there trying to run him out of bussiness. i say RUN from this place.Chances are if you go here you will be PRESSURED BEYOND BELIEF to get unneccisary procedures done incorrectly, treated like garbage and in worse pain in places you didnt have pain before.Dr k is SO unprofessional, condecending, careless and rude. The ONLY good thing about this place is the mri tech and alan the physical thearapist.everyone else in the reviews seem to agree on that and that this clinic does not deserve them and they are right.WOULD NOT RECCOMEND!

A Google User .

I was in a car accident in 2001 in which I fractured my neck and back. I had to wear a brace for three months. I have been dealing with pain since 2001. I lost my ability to walk far distances, driving a car for more than an hour, any type of physical activity effected me. In 2011 I had a motorcycle accident and broke my neck and upper back. I started a rehab program and I was diagnosed with hip dysplasia. I was referred to a different pain clinic and all they did was inject me with multiple steroids. I felt like a pin cushion without relief. They ultimately labeled me as only wanting pain medications despite all they were offering is multiple injections. I explained that pain medications make me sick and that I didn’t want pain medications and wanted pain relief. She was told that after multiple procedures that there was nothing else they could do. They basically left me in pain. Ultimately I was referred to IPPMC. IPPMC really seemed to focus on my pain. They tied in mental health into this. All the doctors work as a team. I felt like I wasn’t coming in being labeled or judged. I feel IPPMC has addressed my pain rather than blew me off.

Three doctor is completely unprofessional and should be barred from practicing medicine. He has no understanding of anesthesia. He forcefully held my wife down with his body weight while giving her injections into her lower lumbar when she said the pain was unbearable and demanded him to stop. He and his nurse(wife) are so unprofessional that the only way they can practice medicine is by having their own clinic. Avoid at ALL costs!!!

Patti Johnson

Dr k and his staff, has toldy changed my life, his treatment approach to RA or anything else pain realated, is remarkable, 5 years ago I was almost close to be in a wheelchair, but today ❤️

I can only imagine how hard it is to get a happy and positive review when you work in the pain business, but as a person who manages with chronic pain myself, I can say that IPPMC is a group of very knowledgeable professionals that have what takes to get a client to a better state of being provided the client is motivated to take the advice and apply it. #WORKEDFORME

These people take great care of all who come in. They taught me to walk after 14 years in a wheelchair!

When doing research on Dr. K, we almost cancelled the appointment because of the negative reviews. We are sure glad we didn't. My husband has been in pain for the past 16 years, and severe pain the past 3 years, we were running out of options. Four different doctors had told us there was nothing else that could be done for the neck pain, including doctors at the Mayo Clinic. We were given a referral to a pain clinic in the cities to be evaluated for a pain pump. Insurance had approved the pain pump, but then we found out it would be two trips a month down to the clinic. There was no way we could make the five hour trip, and take that much time off so we tried to find someone closer and stumbled upon Dr. K. We had an appointment within a week after calling, were treated with respect, the staff was wonderful, and my husband walked out of there in less pain than he had been in for years. Not only is the pain less, but he is able to move his neck significantly more than he had been able to. We are looking forward to our next visit and the additional treatments Dr. K has offered. It is wonderful to have someone who actually recognizes what is really wrong and do something about it. We highly recommend you try it for yourself and don't let the negative reviews prevent you from getting relief from the pain. What do you have to loose? Either you don't like it and are no worse off than you are, or you have your pain reduced and can live life to its fullest.

Darrell Haufler

The staff is amazing. Dr.K is the best. I don't use any optics or narcotic for Pain at all. Shout out to Stacy, the anesthesiologist, she's the bomb. keep up the good work. I recommend InteKventional pain and Physical Medicine to anybody who has pain and would like to try an alternative to controlling it without going through the addiction of opioids and narcotics.

I was treated horribly by the owner which is the head doctor. I was getting cortizone shots in my knees and the pain was so unbearable I began crying and screaming and pleated with the doctor to stop. He told me flat out that "stop acting like a baby the older patients I have think this is fun and relaxing and you might as well finish you've already paid for it" but in fact my insurance doesn't pay until the procedure was done. I think he has terrible bed side manners for anyone especially for a doctor, plus he did this all in front of his staff, who didn't blink an eyelash. Seems to me this happens allot. Sadly the shots didn't even help. Later talking to my psychiatrist I found out he had heard from other people that see him also who had went there and had similar horrible experiences. In my option, I would NEVER EVER recommend anyone going here. If your doctor suggests so, ask for somewhere else. because going to a doctor should never be a degrading experience. If I could I give it -0☆, this place needs to be taken over by different doctors or shut down

After dealing with a local clinic for 6+ months for back and leg pain, a friend suggested I check IPPM out. Glad I did, after finding all of the issues (back, leg, knees, neck, shoulder etc) from past injuries, several visits for MRI's, shots and other procedures, I am now finally able to work and have a semi normal life again. Dr. K is a personable, friendly, great guy. Ive referred others there and will continue to do so.

Deb Randall

Stacey is among the rudest people I have ever met. She is incredibly condescending. They are very inflexible. With all the great therapy places around today, there is absolutely no way I would go there for therapy.

Beth Marcott

The staff n Dr was awesome...I felt like I was cared about

Korey Sufka

I took my daughter to IPPMC for physical therapy and for a sports related injury. IPPMC was professional and the facility is absolutely beautiful. They offer every aspect needed for injury...state of the art gym, therapeutic pool, hot tub, MRI lab, and the staff from Dr. Kowalkowski to the staff who welcomes you to IPPMC was great! We have been to many other clinics in town who claim to offer pain management or physical therapy only to find out they only offer injections or give your child a piece of paper and a large rubber band and tell them to go home and do these exercises. That's not physical therapy. I would highly recommend IPPMC and would say go there for yourself to experience it, that way you don't rely on reviews from people you never met. You'll leave feeling great about experiencing it for yourself.

Becky Heinz

I have been a patient at IPPMC for 8 years. Dr Kowakowski is very good at what he does, when he is focused on the patient. He is a Type A personality. The problem there, is he can be somewhat abrupt, and unfocused. Since I am similar in nature, (too much on the brain) I have trouble focusing on the problem at hand, thinking about all I need to accomplish, or do, similar to Dr. K. In my own opinion, I trust his capabilities, as a pain management physician. The OT/PT staff, as well as the MRI technicians, surgical techs, RN's, are the best I've ever encountered, in my 58 years. I have never felt disrespected by anyone at this clinic, with maybe a possible exception of the multiple front desk receptionists, that have been there over the years. You as the patient are your own best advocate. I have an extremely high pain threshold, so I really don't have any complaints about my treatment there. I've personally done most of my injections without sedation. I've only had 1 unfavorable injection in about 15, Not bad odds. Ask questions of the MRI technicians, or the nurses. They are very well trained in their fields. Overall I rated with 4 stars. I would have given 5 if, Dr. K could get out of his head, focus on my issues and not have every visit, where I see him, become a 4-6 hour time commitment. I understand it can be busy at times. This is not an in and out clinic. It's multifaceted, so your expectations need to adjust!

Kasdar Killgore

I saw Dr. K and he took the time to listen to me, and treated me the same day. For the first time in 15 years I have no pain in my knee.

Not for me

Lindsay Hegland

WORST EXPERIENCE- They do NOT know or understand how to bill insurance, and when they are confronted about mistakes on their end, they blame it on the patient. Allen is a fabulous physical therapist and does his job excellently, it's too bad he can't be associated with a compliant clinic.

Zach Jasmer

Chaos13

I felt attacked the whole time I was there. He bashed my previous physician saying he ruined me by using the pain meds he gave me, that he had gotten into trouble for this, had his hands slapped etc. and even said that he had applied for a job there. I felt like he should not be bashing another doctor for his choices or talking smack about someone who is not there to defend themselves. Who does that? I was with my previous doctor for 9 years before he left the Sartell clinic and I felt he took wonderful care of me and did his best. This guy wrenched on my body and hurt my neck causing new numbness and pain in both arms... then says he was going to "go look at my chart and scans"? That should have been done before he touched me. PERIOD. Now I have to have another MRI of my neck to see what happened. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. EVER!

Great clinic! I see Tim for physical therapy and he is very professional and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this clinic.

victoria jacobs

The head doctor is a complete @$$. Wants to do unnecessary tests and injections so they can bill your insurance. He is a crook and this place is a joke! They should be closed down.

Joe Sikkink

The head doctor is horrible a dr is supposed to make you feel safe and trusting hes just not any of those the nurses are very nice and pros

Micah Pedrick

Very unprofessional. "Dr K." Asked me questions about my previous doctor that were personal and not my business. And proceeded to tell me things about that doctor I found to be inappropriate. I spent over 4 hrs there(8:25am-10:45am/1pm-3:45) and finally left because my child was with me. I had been waiting another 45 mins after the impromptu MRI which took much longer than it should and did not start until almost an hour after they asked me to return. The entire "evaluation" was rushed and just odd. The staff had zero eye contact. This was on Oct 22nd. On the 23rd. Today! I returned at 2:15 pm for a 2:30 appt. At 3:20, I was finally taken to a room. The doctor came in and very quickly told me I need an injection. Ok. He did not explain anything particularly well until I asked questions. The more questions I had. The more side tracked he became. He then said some more innapropriate things about my old doctor. And then started to talk about my sons father!?? Asking how big of a man he was. While it was clear my son and I live alone because I had just stated this because the guy asked me! And yet still thought it was appropriate to ask my 4 yr old about his dad?? His nurse came in a moment later and asked if i wanted to do the injection right then and there!!!??? ***Not a trigger point injection.*** A Transforaminal injection!!! I said no. Id schedule at a later date. Like when my small child was not with me! The few minutes, both days I was in the same room as Dr K.. I had a very uneasy feeling about his demeanor. His mouth and body moved like he was under the influence of drugs. His nurse, Whom I now know was his wife. She did try to re explain the injection he wanted to do. She did a better job at explaining. Though they both have the same spiel about, "water on flames". They both seemed high on a stimulant. Or extremely strong coffee?!
