Our counselor at Perspectives of Troy worked with my husband and me, helped us examine our parenting patterns and make essential changes that dramatically altered the way our children related to us, and the way we related to one another. We are so incredibly grateful. Thank you so much.

Jean Patterson

My therapist at Perspectives gave me back a belief in joy of life, work and family. She pointed gently the changes I might choose to make in my life in order to live and stay happy.

Henry Calla

Our counselor has an aptitude for getting to the issues at hand, listening well to understand and then quickly developing the strategies to resolve. She is confident, compassionate and delivers on her word. Thank you.

Scott Witinko

I had a very pleasant experience visiting Perspectives Of Troy as my first counseling center I have ever been to. Without getting into too much detail, I was just seeking some feedback, support and advice on some areas I wanted to 'grow up' in and how it could better improve my life and mental well-being. I have to say thank you and that my returning visits only helped to build on the momentum my therapist and I created when I first started going there. Not only am I happier these days, but I feel well balanced emotionally and just more appreciative of the people in my life and the things I have. Thanks!

It’s the WalMart of mental health. I figure it’s all about dollars and this place gets cut rate mental health workers. Both my daughter and I have been. My daughter got zip over about 12 appointments and after 4 or 5 visits with my guy I feel the same. He was nice and the only reason I kept coming back was I kept thinking he was setting the table for a few breakthrough moments. They never happened. Indeed I’ve done way better with a couple life coaches over the years. Might I add that several of the reviews on this company are bogus. Click the reviewers name and look at 1) where they review (different ends of the country and multiple states) 2) who they review (odd) uncommon and unlikely. They lack a theme if you will.

BEWARE!!! PERSPECTIVES OF TROY WILL LIE TO GET YOU IN THEIR DOOR. THEY'LL TELL YOU THEY ACCEPT BOTH YOUR INSURANCES. HOWEVER THEY DONT EXCEPT HUMANA OR MEDICARE. THEY WILL SEND YOU $200 BILLS FOR EVERY VISIT, 5 MONTHS LATER!!! WHEN YOU CALL ABOUT IT THEY WILL ONLY BE RUDE TO YOU AND HANG UP ON YOU. BEST ADVICE I CAN GIVE IS TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS STINKY RAN DOWN CROOKED DISHONEST ESTABLISHMENT. BE WARNED!!!

I believe that there is no substitute for having an unbiased and trustworthy ear of a specialist who is committed to you as an individual and to working with you to help you feel better. My experience at Perspectives has been both enlightening and satisfying.

Gwendolyn McDowell

When I began talking to my counselor at Perspectives of Troy, it quickly became apparent to me that she was not interested in judging me. She listened to my story compassionately and empathetically, and stated that she wanted to help me to seek a healing path for my life.

I go to the Novi location and I honestly love it. First time I really connected with a therapist. There is no secretaries there when you walk in because it's so new so instead you just pick up the phone and the receptionist speaks with you while you fill out a half sheet of paper if you have a copay or anything then you just give it to the therapist. I see Charles Vanmulen and I highly highly recommend him to anyone hes a great listener and a really good motivator. For the first time I feel like someone professional is actually listening and acknowledging all I have to say good or bad and gives me the best advice as if he was an uncle more than a stranger. 5 stars for sure in my book :)

Sabreen Victoria

Dr. Susan George, psychiatrist, is the worst mental health professional I have ever worked with. She was completely dismissive of my issues. She would ask questions and cut me off in the middle of my answer to ask me another question. Seeing her made me feel worse than if I would have just stayed off my meds. I met with her once out of desperation and will never return.

Elaine Morrow

I am not someone who can easily open up about my issues and I am not someone who is easily taught. However, in going through this counseling process I can tell you that it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made.

Patricia Julien

Thanks to Perspectives of Troy, we have once again found the love, “spark”, joy and fun in our marriage. Thank you all so very much.

Very unprofessional! Very Money hungry! I was here for a year and at the beginning I loved it! Dr. Jackson seemed very attentive to my needs. Down the line, I ended up needing paperwork filled out for work. This place charges $150 for paperwork no matter the reason on why you need it! It’s $150 each time! Not practical at all! The first time I paid it because I needed to! As time went on, I began to see that this place was only worried about the money. My insurance pays for 95% of everything, with that being said I was only responsible for my $25 copay. I missed various appointments due to personal reasons and each time would require me to take off work which would mean I wasn’t getting paid to be off for my personal reason. Each time I would bring my paperwork to get the inconvenience fees removed... welp, before I knew it I found myself in a hole. At first I wasn’t a problem that I had a balance of $200. I was still able to pay my copay and be seen. It only became a problem when my therapist Dr. Jackson started declining to see me numerous times, telling me I had to pay half of my balance off before being seen by her. Who does that? That only dug me in a deeper hole because if I couldn’t pay at least half, she would mark our appointment as if I didn’t come and they would charge me another $75 on top of my balance I had already owed. Fast forward to yesterday, I was calling to confirm my appointment with the psychiatrist Dr. George and was told that I had been discharged as a patient with Dr. Jackson. Since I was no longer a being seen my The therapist, I could not see the psychiatrist! My heart dropped, I felt like I had just been dumped! The receptionist informed me that Dr. Jackson had called me a month ago to tell me she was discharging me. I still have the voicemail and she did not tell me she was discharging me, she was actually calling to let me know what appointments she had available and to call and let her know which appointment I wanted. Thank God, the psychiatrist decided to take me off of my anxiety medication weeks ago but you’re telling me if I were still on any medication, I would have to pretty much fend for myself and figure out how to get more medicine? That is completely unacceptable and very unprofessional. I wouldn’t have even known I was discharged if I hadn’t called! If you need any kind of therapy I recommend you take your time, problems and money elsewhere because this company does not care about you! They will dump you like a bad habit

Our family owes the entire staff of Perspectives of Troy a huge debt of gratitude in our path to recovery and mental and emotional health and I am grateful beyond words. Thank you so much.

David Villa

In today's world, stress plays a huge part in our everyday lives. Perspectives is the place to call. The therapists are very professional, caring and accommodating. Thank you so much.

Charles Lazzaro

I've seen many therapists over the years and not one of them has matched our Perspectives' counselor's combination of empathy and problem solving ability. He believes you can improve and will give you the tools you need to do so. Every meeting is productive, helpful, and a pleasure.

Nicolas Ortiz

The staff and therapists at Perspectives of Troy are a true inspiration to everyone they come into contact with. Each client that comes in to the office is greeted with a supportive atmosphere and always treated with kindness and respect.

Joe Jackson

The Perspectives office is well kept and laid back at the same time, which allowed me to relax and let my tension just slip away. Highly recommend you come here for your mental health needs!

Deborah Montgomery

I feel heard and understood; I feel stronger because of our counselor's help and am able to focus on resolving the issues I am facing. Thank you so much.

Perspectives of Troy really helped me be a more effective parent and helped my son mature in making good choices and to build up his confidence.Having a positive adult role model that my son is comfortable confiding in and talking to about his life is priceless!

Mario Verner

I'm grateful for finding Perspectives of Troy. I learned many many useful tools from every interaction I had with our counselor. Thank you for encouraging me to work on myself, as it is definitely the best thing I've done for myself and my family.

At this point I am EXTREMELY disappointed with this place. My son's first appointment was on February 9, 2019. He had 9 sessions with his first therapist Andrew and unfortunately, Andrew left the practice to go into missions, which is admirable, except it set my son back even further than he was on his first session because he felt abandoned again. We switched to a new therapist whom he has seen twice now. However, it has been starting over from square one after 9 visits and over 2 months of footing the bill. The switching of therapists was throwing away hundreds of dollars paid for the first 9 sessions. We scheduled an appointment with the clinics psychologist back in February for April. It has now been changed FOUR TIMES. Today it was changed for the forth time putting it off for another two weeks AGAIN!!! I feel like I have thrown away a ton of money and have seen no value of this counseling yet for my son who since starting in counseling was expelled from his school. We are doing our best as parents are paying the money for counseling, but so far there has been no benefit, just a lot of funds and a kid that is in a worse place from where we started. We are going to give 1 more month to this practice before we will have to look for a different practice if things don't improve.

David Corley

Counseling saved my marriage. It enabled me to find joy in life again and regain my confidence. What I received at Perspectives of Troy is beyond what I had found with other counselors and I am very grateful.

Debbie McDaniel

Our counselor at Perspectives challenges us without pitting us against one another and without being confrontational. She is gracious, patient, kind, thoughtful and compassionate and her guidance has been invaluable to us.

Hester Collins

I was never a huge fan of the concept of counseling, but if I was going to do it, I wanted to go to the best. We researched therapists until we thought we had found the best fit, and we were right! Coming to Perspectives was the best decision we've ever made (my husband and I).

Cameron Masi

Don’t go to Dr. Fradi by any means necessary. He diagnosed me with depression and anxiety and put me on a drug that made me unhappy and was absolutely unwilling to work with me to find something better. EDIT: The comment below told me to call and I did and got no answer back and its been over a week. This place will rob you blind and ignore the problems they caused.

Mark Moorey

Perspectives is providing a service to our community and its residents that is invaluable. I am fortunate to have learned about the center and been referred to an excellent therapist who continues to work with me.

Britney Mills

Thanks to Perspectives of Troy, I've learned to control my stress, think things out without anger or anxiety and that keeps my emotional state on an even keel. Additionally, counseling has helped me from hitting the fridge when I am stressed or at the very least make better, healthier choices. I truly feel it was the best decision I have ever made.

James Christiani

20+ years ago, Perspectives was great, they did wonders for my step niece who was a very troubled teen at the time. More recently my Step-son attended counseling there. Instead of my son's therapist helping him quit his attention seeking behaviors that he was there to get help with in the first place, John N. encouraged further like behaviors! My son followed the therapists instructions, making the problem much worse, costing the family time, money and a whole lot of unnecessary hassle. A full year after I pulled him out of that money soaking, issue causing, preying on the cognitively impaired facility, Perspectives has the audacity to bill US for a cancellation that the therapist initiated. Still, after two letters explaining the fact that the money is not owed, we are getting billed.

Patrick Martin

Perspectives of Troy was able to bring me to a place of contentment in my life that I had never felt before. My counselor gave me understanding so I was able to open up like I had never done before.

Never. EVER. EVER. AGAIN. I was a HAPPY client of Perspectives from years ago. My therapist has since moved on. After a horrible rebirth of a horrible depressive episode, I sought out treatment. I was told I would have to wait 2 1/2 WEEKS to see someone. So. I waited. And struggled. And fell deeper. Then??? I get a phone call LATE in the day BEFORE my apt with my NEW therapist CANCELLING my initial appointment. No apologies. No anything. She was snarky. Rude. I don't need this. So... I cancelled all together, and thought I could man my own ship. Fast forward a few months? I'm now passively suicidal and needed immediate help. I told them on my initial appointment that I worked EVENINGS. The receptionist CLEARLY didn't listen and put me with a therapist anyways. A week later (and $132 WASTED), I'm sitting. Pouring my shattered life to some stranger. Breaking the pieces already broken. Feeling ASHAMED. BATTERED. EVEN MORE TIRED THAN BEFORE. AND THIS GUY SAYS... Wait for it, people. "I ONLY WORK EVENINGS. Sorry, but ohhh. I won't work for you. But I'll try to see if anyone wants your case." ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? 45 minute drive each way, to be put off for how long to see someone else? Then he says "Oh. I can see you every other week". Dude. I am one hair away from jumping off a bridge. You're joking, right? My old therapist would roll over in her GRAVE if she knew how the new Perspectives is. No. Fricken. EMPATHY. I also knew I needed medication. He made no mention or making an EFFORT to get his new passively suicidal client help. NONE. Told me to go to my PCP. Funny!!! My old therapist? Referred me IMMEDIATELY and my depression in the past was no where NEAR where I am now. He made comments about how I'm PAYING them to LISTEN to me. Really? Salt in the wound much? I want my money back. For wasted time. For further mental damage. For the hour and a half I spent BAWLING in the car because I thought I was doing the right thing by seeking professional help. One problem. Nothing about this was professional. I did in fact drag my sorry butt to the doctor. Somehow. Where she IMMEDIATELY diagnosed me with SEVERE depression. Sent me to see a local therapist who scheduled IMMEDIATELY, and gave me meds to keep fighting this battle. PS- this all only cost me $40 :) Meds included. OH!!!! Best part? My appointment was on Monday. It's now Friday. I have NO idea who this "poor soul" is who's going to be persuaded to take my charity case. Mental health is nothing to screw with. And these people screwed me over on MULTIPLE occasions that pushed me closer to the edge. How long will I have to wait???? Weeks? They aren't in it for the humanity. The receptionists are RUDE, hang up on you, and are EXTREMELY SNARKY. SHAME on you Perspectives!!!!

Nancy Kramer

My husband knew our marriage was in trouble and I didn’t want it to end, either. When we finally went to Perspectives we went as a couple. Even though it was my issue, he got to go too. He was also dealing with a lot of things. Now things are much better for both of us.

Greg Larsen

I find all the therapists to be engaging, caring, honest and trustworthy. I believe firmly that the foundation for happiness comes from within and in working through my issues I have found there help to be insightful and extremely helpful.

Sally Mack

My daughter celebrated one year of sobriety on November 3rd. By God's grace, we have our child back. Perspectives of Troy helped me learn how to communicate with her with love rather than manipulate and control. That made it possible for her to open up to me like never before.

Joycelyn Brisco

I both admire and respect my therapist and I am thankful to them every day for the insight and help which they provide. Thank you all so very much.

Kelli Delaney

Perspectives helped us understand how to forgive and ask for forgiveness. They showed us how to look at things from a logical and objective perspective versus letting emotions control our decisions. Thank you.

Matt klinkhammer

All I got to say is that there is a reason there is no local guides that have posted 5 stars. A majority of the reviews are bought. When I mentioned it to therapist, I was met with a "lot of businesses do that" working personally at a business that thrives on customer satisfaction, I'd like to argue that. Maybe a lot of scumbag businesses. Like Perspectives. Here's a nice perspective, stop buying reviews.

nick koprowicz

Should have read the local guide reviews... I called to set up an evaluation appointment and the receptionist seemed disinterested at best. When I asked to book an appointment in Troy, I was told that there were no upcoming available appointments - apparently ever? This was confusing for me because when I asked what that the next available was - even if it were in several weeks, I was told there simply wasn't any. After a couple more minutes of back and forth, suddenly she found an appointment for later in the week. While this wasn't my time preference, I really wanted to see someone so I agreed to this timing. Not even 20 minutes later I was called back to be told that the appointment I had booked was not, in fact, for the Troy location, but for another. I asked to be placed on a next available list. Since that time, it was been almost a week with no update. Looking through the reviews I can't help but feel I've dodged a bullet.
