After a year at Doctors For Kids I have experienced a steady decline in service, so much so, that I have moved to another practice. In the past few months the two doctors under Dr. Mavani left the practice suddenly. Disappointing experiences in the past few months include: waiting for one and a half hours for a vaccine and being told over and over it wouldn't be long before a nurse would see my son, only being able to make an appointment with an interim Doctor who did not have good "bedside manor", finding out my son had an ear infection which was not found by the interim Doctor when we took him in after having a fever for several days (another Ped found the ear infection after our visit to Doctors for Kids- we have since switched to this new practice), and being talked down to by the Office Manager when we called to fight the cost for the past visit where my Son's ear infection was not caught by the interim Doctor. My Husband called and asked to speak to Dr. Mavani personally to inform her of these disappointing experiences, however we have not received a call back from her. It feels there is no other way to let Dr. Mavani know of our frustrations than by leaving this review. We hope to share this information so these things can be looked at closely by Dr. Mavani and considered by anyone looking to bring their child to Doctors for Kids. We no longer feel we can trust this practice and will be taking our son to a different Pediatrician.

Dr. Mavani is amazing. She is holistic and likes natural remedies but doesn't mess around when something needs to be addressed. She really knows her stuff and is always willing to explain her choices and recommendations. The staff is also great and the nurse practitioner usually available same day for sick visits. Best choice I ever made.

“Doctors for Kids”??... They should call their office “Bigots for Kids”... While taking my son in I overheard the front staff badmouthing a transgender girl who had been in earlier that day. At a different appointment several months ago, I saw the way they looked at a same-sex couple. It was like they are second class citizens. Sure, Dr. Mavani is a good doctor, but I can’t believe it is 2017 and people can be so close minded, inconsiderate, and judgmental, especially in a profession setting.

Dr Siddiq is really great. My son is very apprehensive with doctors and testing and she made him very much at ease. She was thorough in her evaluation of the issue and we were happy with the outcome. I would definitely recommend Dr Siddiq.

We have been going to Doctors for Kids for almost 10 years now. Dr Mavani is so vested in the kids. We’ve never had trouble getting appointments for our kids when they are sick and Dr Mavani is very thorough and makes sure that all our questions are answered. Nurse Kathy has always been patient with my kids and they absolutely know that they are in good hands. All the nurses, especially Jennifer treat us with care and help us when we need referrals etc. They all go above and beyond normal requirements of a doctors office. I can’t think of ever taking my kids anywhere else

We have been going to doctors for kids for 2 1/2 years now and would recommend them to any one looking! We love all of the providers, medical assistants, and front desk staff at this office. Not only do they know us all by name when we are in the office but they know who we are when I call and are so quick to get us in as soon as possible. The providers are so thorough at well checks and listen and ask about all concerns!!

Dr. Mavani is amazing. She is so knowledgeable and I like that she takes the time to suggest holistic alternatives before she jumps to prescribe traditional medicine.

I took my child in for checkups but Dr. Mavani totally rejected my child in front of him and me because she only wants patients who are immunized. It was not professional and she was very rude. My son stated "She basically is kicking us out of here". I don't support immunizations because of the toxic substances such as mercury that is loaded into these injections. Dr. Mavani has her own philosophy of how her little world should operate. She wants her perfect little world in her perfect little way. I respect that, but, on the other hand, she misses out on the point of helping every child that walks into her medical office as human beings. She is a doctor that comes from a third world country in India. I can see how she doesn't want to deal or face children that she has to fix up that don't compete to her standards. Her philosophy is one that has to take in patients that are new babies through teen years. So, for example, if your child is 7, 12 or even 15, she doesn't want them.

We have seen Dr Mavani since April 2000! I can't believe it's been 17 years but I wouldn't take my children to any other doctor. Dr. Mavani and her staff are amazing! I would recommend and have recommended her to family and friends. I would not take my children to anyplace other than Doctors for Kids. Sometimes you wait to see her, but then when you need to speak with her for a long time, she is there for you and your children. I am okay with that because the care and knowledge that I get is above and beyond. She not only cares for your children but for the well being of the entire family. She understands that if 1 of your children are ill or having issues, it impacts the entire family. And she wants the best for your children and family.

Doctor Mavani is amazing! Two of my children have food allergies and she has helped me so much with that. She always takes the time I need with her and doesn't make me feel rushed or that she she's too busy to sit and answer all of my questions and concerns. Her nurse practitioners are just as helpful and follow the same philosophy as Dr. Mavani which is to approach things with a holistic option when possible before pumping drugs into your children and I appreciate that so much. Great office! You'd be lucky to have Dr. Mavani taking care of your children.

I could not hope for a more knowledgeable, kind, patient, and caring pediatrician for my children. Dr. Mavani was recommended to me after I was dissatisfied by the care my 1.5 year old daughter was receiving from her original pediatrician. In our first appointment, she listened to my concerns, identified a previously undiagnosed issue, and developed an effective treatment plan. I am so thankful that Dr. Mavani was already involved with my family when my second child was born. He has had a number of health issues, and it is so comforting to know he is being cared for by the best! She has beautifully integrated traditional medicine with some more holistic approaches to optimize his care. After seeing such positive results (improved sleep and digestion) from the massage techniques she taught us, even my more "traditional medicine- minded" husband became a believer. Dr. Mavani also surrounds herself with a great team. My children love Nurse Vicki, and I will forever be grateful for the care and support she provided via a nightly phone call as we were going through a medical emergency with my son. The combination of Dr. Mavani's intelligence, kindness and impeccable bedside manner paired with her excellent team, make Dr. Mavani one of the very best doctors I have ever encountered!

not even a one star, office staff is very rude and uncooperative, when you arrive for your appointment on time you have to wait for almost one hour beyond your appt time. I called the office right when the office had opened advised that my daughter was very nauseous and couldn't keep anything down, they couldn't give her an appt until the late afternoon, ended up taking her to urgent care. Very disappointing. Owner responds to review two years after my original post! Pathetic! thank God my kids don't go to this place anymore

Dr. Mavani was recommended to me by another mom when we moved to the area two years ago. We’ve been taking our three kids there ever since. We’ve been very please with her approach to care. She doesn’t rush to medicate and she is concerned for the care of our childrens’ bodies and minds. We have been very happy with everyone at the practice, especially, Dr. Mavani, Nurse/Dr. Kathy and Dr. Osburn. They have been amazing with our children. There’s nothing more comforting than to find a pediatric office that you can trust the care of your most precious gifts with.

Dr Mavani is an amazing pediatrician. She has been our kids' doctor since they were infants. We stumbled across her as our oldest was having a severe egg allergy & the other doctor was not able to see him. I happen to called her office & she personally got on the phone with me. Then she had me bring in our son right away to make sure she can treat him properly. Since then, she has always treated my kids & she is always accurate on her diagnosis & treatment. She works with her patients & parents to meet their needs. She is incredibly passionate about her profession & she takes her time with her patients in order to truly understand the issue. Sometimes you might have to wait to see her, but she will give your children the same high level of care & treatment as she has done for other patients.... so be patient because you are in great hands! I would strongly recommend her! She is a very intelligent person, an amazing doctor & very open minded!

She was recommended to me by my OBGYN since I wanted someone very caring who Took their time with kids. Two of my kids have had allergies and one of them had chicken pox. We have been coming to DFK since our oldest was born, and absolutely love Dr. Mavani. In the nearly seven years since, we’ve had another daughter, and we wouldn’t take ours kids anywhere else unless we were turned away! Everyone there is so gentle, and caring with our kids. The nurses, med techs, and NP’s are always patient and available, spending as much time with us as needed. Everyone practices a holistic medicine that I appreciate. Very respectful. Can’t say enough good.

Dr. Mavani and her staff are wonderful and caring towards not just their patients but the parents too! I like it that her first approach isn't always medicine, if something can be done with holistic medicine, she will recommend that. When I told her I was uneasy about vaccinations, she walked me through it all and suggested a slower/longer shot schedule. I would highly recommend Doctors for Kids to every and anyone.

When looking for a pediatrician or doctor to care for your precious children there's no where else you want to go. Dr Mavani has been our doctor now for almost 14 years. She has been a true blessing. We have been through several hard times and she never missed a beat. She is so caring, compassionate, considerate, loving, humble, and a true friend as well. I love her. My family loves her and all her staff are so professional and thorough on every level. We are blessed to have her as a doctor as well in our lives.
