She admitted she couldn't be objective about my distant past despite the help I need today. Being open and honest will lead her to judge you. It's very unprofessional of her to draw an arbitrary 'line in the sand' when you come to her desperate for help and she only focuses on just one aspect about your past, which she knows very little about. All human beings should deserve an equal right to treatment. A psychological practice should not turn away those desperate for help when they come in openly, honestly, and with a willingness to improve and learn. She should advertise up front very specifically what her biases are so you don't waste your time and 'intake fee' ($320 for 45 minutes NOT well spent!). She then offered to refer me to others who, in her words, 'wouldn't react as I would'. I declined, telling her I couldn't trust her any more, not even for a referral. Dr. Judi Sprei is personally and professionally biased! Don't open up to her. Don't trust her. Don't waste your time with her.
