Do not go to this man. I was put through a battery of useless tests after meeting with him and divulging my entire life and background to him with complete authenticity-- that should have helped him treat me with the right medication. Instead, he put me on a medication that, despite telling him I had previously had an adverse reaction to, he went ahead and insisted I try it. Once a successful, focused and motivated professional, I became a hermit that could barely string two words together. I contacted his nurse, Mandy, about this and she was rude and insensitive. I couldn't get another appointment for two months. Horrible experience. Do not waste your money. Go to a real M.D.

Dr Dammers is the best in the business!!!! I owe my life to him!!!! I’m very thankful for everything he did and helped me achieve. Sometimes he may tell you things you don’t want hear. After losing him in 2014 I regret everyday not having his support. I appreciate Dr Dammers more then words will ever say. I’m a hard one to please and after he refused to see me ....,to this day I still REGRET NOT BEING ALLOWED HIS SERVICES!!! This DOCTOR IS THE SMARTEST IN HIS MEDICINE!!!!!!! Angela DeFrances Dietrich

This dude is a wimp. He wouldn’t treat me because I used to take suboxone. Passed me off on another doctor that can’t prescribe meds for my ocd or general anxiety disorder. Took a day off work sat and waited. Ended up leaving. Guess docs don’t want to see someone with addiction. Buyer beware.

My initial visit with Dr. Dammers was questionable. I was nervous and am not used to talking about myself. I didn't know what to expect. I'm not sure he knew what to expect from me either. I was referred to him by a PCP that I no longer see due to a lack of consideration from the staff and other physicians in that office when I complained of chest pain. I feel that he accepted the PCPs opinion before meeting me. After continued conversation, he had me take a battery of tests. These tests assured him I have ADHD. I am thankful that he continued to speak to me rather than taking the other doctor at his word. He really is a great doctor.

Dr. Dammers was highly recommended to me by a friend, and when I mentioned him to my GP, I received an equally positive opinion of him. I got the necessary referral, and have been seeing him for the past few years now. I find him to be very reasonable and easy to talk to. I feel he really listens, and neither over, nor under prescribes regarding medications. I’ve never had longer than a 20 minute wait before my appointment, and his nurse is always very friendly and helpful. I have encountered other aquantances since, who also see Dr. Dammers. Due to that, I know that a few particular grievances noted in some of these poor reviews are in direct difference to his general practices, so I would take those with a grain of salt. Yes, it can take a while to get an initial appointment, but that is true for anyone in his field, and you can make multiple future appointments at that time.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Dammers for over a year now. He has been a lot of help and has helped me on several issues. I’m not sure what all these negative comments are about, I’m stunned. Make your own opinion.

Just walked out of my appointment, after waiting extensively for an error on the clerk who schedules part. I made my appointment on April 11th, for June 14th, 10:00 am. Put the phone on speaker and entered the app into my calendar on my phones as I do for everything. Today I arrived promptly at 10:00 am, with all the paperwork they mailed me completed, ID cards and insurance. Signed in and waited. 11 am I ask if this wait is normal, and at that point I'm told my app isn't until 12:30. I disputed that with my calendar, the entry time and the entry time in my phone was exact to the appointment entry made by clerk CHA. At this point the registration clerk apologizes and says it happens often with them, and speaks to the nurse. They tell me to go downstairs for a min there is 1 person ahead and they can get me in. So I do, and come back up. 12:00 nothing. 12:45 I go ask the reg clerk what's taking so long now, at which time she calls Dr Dammers nurse they tell me 15-20 more mins. In the same SENTENCE tells the nurse on the end that she "No Showed" her 12:00. So you no showed your 12:00, I'm your 12:30 and you can't see me til 1-- for what? So I got a refund of my copayment and left. After being told if I left it would be hard to get back in. No joke, I waited 2 months nearly to get in, and 4 hours for my app, I'm not interested. Really hate it, was referred by some great colleagues. Terrible customer service!

If it was not for Dr. Dammers, I would not be alive today. He has helped me so much through my anxiety and depression. I've been to several physiatrists and other doctors before but never felt comfortable discussing my issues. Dr. Dammers listens and actually gives back advice that has helped improve my life so much. I do not understand why the other comments are so negative. Sure it takes awhile to get in with him but if you really need to see him fast, his nurse makes it happen.

Dr Dammers Dismissed me for missing one appointment in 2014. I missed the appointment because I had to work over. When I attempted to reschedule, I was told because he had "Dismissed" me, I could no longer see him or any other person in the department. I highly recommend AVOIDING this Individual at all cost. Prior to missing the appointment, I had only seen him once because no one else was available. I was very concerned after our first meeting, that he would be a waist of Time and Money. I am disappointed that the Neuromedical Center grants a single PHD this amount of authority without the ability to at least see another doctor first, before making such a decision.
