I have been going to New Life Counseling Services since Dr. D started her business 7 years ago- since I was 14 years old! I highly recommend her. I always speak to my friends about how amazing her and the other staff is and have even had friends go see her and tell me how amazing she and the rest of the staff/counselors are. I'm always greeted with a smile and have been since the beginning. Even if I move away from the area, they offer online meetings as well so I will definitely keep her as my counselor even if I move! They always go beyond expectations to care for their clients. If you want to feel like a person who is genuinely cared for, I highly recommend New life Counseling. Even as a growing person they have always made me feel welcomed and understood, heard and cared for. You won't be disappointed by choosing any of the members there!

Although they do have flexible hours for appointments on weekends & weekdays, that’s about the only positive review i can give to this group. The location is not good and the rooms are VERY uncomfortable, more like a small school office—just overall unwelcoming. We were sitting way too close together in the room & there was nothing personal about her office. My appointment was at 9am, but since the practice administrator was about 10 minutes late and noticeably unorganized, the check-in process was so lengthy for ONE other client that my wait was extended another 10 minutes. The sign in sheet still had yesterdays clients name sitting out, which honestly could lead to future HIPPA violations—i was the one that changed out the sheet. Clearly some effort was put in to making a “cute” waiting room, but lacked style and comfort. The seats were hard and not comfortable. I finally was taken back into the office where instead of feeling like i was able to talk, i was being berated with questions. I understand needing to know some background, but there were moments i clearly needed to expand on something and talk about it. There were moments i wanted to cry, and needed to, but felt like i was stopped. I cannot speak for all of the counselors there, but mine talked about herself so much. I think her good intentions to relate and give advice got in the way of me being able to just TALK to someone. She was very friendly, as were most of the staff, but their manners do not make up for the lack of professionalism of the front office—if you can even call it that. Speaking from my own experiences, it’s important for me, someone seeking behavioral health, to be in a positive, structured, professional, comfortable environment. I also feel like she may not have much experience dealing with different types of mental illness. I wanted someone that was confident and seemed to have different resources to help. I know this practice has outstanding reviews, which truly confuses me. My counselor even said something about how she was trying to hurry bc someone was after me (BUT WE STARTED LATE BECAUSE YOUR COWORKER WAS LATE), not to mention she was talking about how her 9am (me)canceled before she knew i was sitting there and had a confirmation text—i’m sure this was a glitch in the system, but no coincidence considering other “oopsy-daisies”. I just really needed someone to talk to today, and i just felt rushed and unsatisfied. There were moments i wanted to just get up and leave because i was tired listening to her own experiences. Very disappointed
