Absolutely terrible customer service. Never scheduled an appointment and did not tell me until I called the day before to confirm. Practice wants a credit card number before the first visit, which is ridiculous. Every other practice I’ve looked into doesn’t have this policy. Rude customer service member kept cutting me off on the phone when I tried to explain why I wasn’t comfortable giving all of my info and credit card number over email. NEVER go here.

I've had a very good experience with Uptown Psych. My therapist, Lara, has been really great - I've come a long way in only a couple of weeks. The text message confirmations have been really helpful as well.

I am so disappointed by the services here. I am both a consumer and provider of mental health services, so I have experience on both sides. My first issue was when my psychiatrist grossly misremembered information about me so much so, that I thought she must have read someone else's chart. When I questioned her and she read back her note to me, she had completely misinterpreted what I had said, making me feel like she'd not listened in the first place. I've had great psychiatrists before who were able to remember me even in between 6 month appointments. I decided not to return and found a practice where I felt seen and understood. Today I received an email with the subject line "letter" with no text in the body of the message except "this is a confidential message." I emailed back to make sure it wasn't a phishing scheme and the message returned was "Termination Letter." Customer service is especially important in this field since they're working with people who could be struggling. I understand the need to send this letter in terms of patient abandonment, but there are thoughtful, kind ways to share information that was not reflected here. I am horrified to think a client of mine would receive something so cold, uncaring, and actually quite confusing. This is an unacceptable way to handle business affairs in ANY field, let alone mental health. I would appreciate a follow up to this comment.

I've had nothing but a great experience with Uptown Psych. I see both a therapist and a psychiatrist . I had DR. Cao, who sent my prescription to a pharmacy I later realized was not covered by my insurance. I called them to have it moved and it was moved within the hour. Dr. Cao also has a refreshing viewpoint when it comes to women's sexual health and medicine. Many of my old doctors told me to not be on birth control until my medicine figured itself out. Dr. Cao did not agree and was concerned about safety during a possible manic episode. She worked with me to find a OBGYN to see me. My therapist Lara has been a dream. I struggled to find a therapist who specializes in DV issues in private practice but Lara does and she is wonderful to work with. She is always on time, always schedules appointments before leaving and is very upfront about everything.

Ruined my life for some time now with a hasty prescription of medication that had long term affects that I was not warned of. They also once prescribed the wrong drug because it had a similar generic name when they were upping a dosage, but it turned out that new drug was twice as potent. Awesome!

Very poor customer service. i have been a patient here for few years now. Jokes on me I should’ve left a long time ago with all the different doctors I had to go through. They can’t even retain their front desk staff! Time to find another facility! Who ever is thinking about becoming a patient here, SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!

Though I started with a decent psychiatrist, after she left and I had to meet with another doctor I decided that day (after meeting with her) I would not return. Unfortunately for me, this is the type of place that makes psychiatry look bad. The first doctor I had immediately prescribed me medication after about a 15 minute consultation. I didn't mind because I was already taking medication (I honestly just needed someone to keep prescribing me, and she definitely did this). Once she left, after a consultation with a new doctor I told her I have been working with natural remedies to potentially leave anti-dep. all together. She was very offended by this and told me she can't see me anymore unless I stop taking these natural remedies. I left that day. On the upside, the secretaries are really nice!

Prescribed me 120 mg Prozac on my first appointment. I’ve never taken Prozac before. The maximum daily dose for the average ADULT MALE is 85mg. Could have killed me if my pharmacist didn’t catch this error.

Terrible customer service. I called about over an hour ago to become a new patient and the girl I spoke to had no idea what she was talking about. I was put on hold 7 times and I waited about 30 minutes. She told me she wasn’t sure if they accepted my insurance. I had inquired about paying out of pocket since I really need to see someone. She seemed very irritated by my questions and kept raising her voice. I am glad I decided to shop around and look for another place to seek treatment.

As a former psychiatric patient who was duped and sucked into the system, I learned how nearly all my issues and my so called "bi-polar diagnosis" were merely induced by the very SSRIs and Antidepressants I was irresponsibly prescribed by reckless money hungry physicians. Here is how to become educated with information from the International Coalition for Drug Awareness - drugawareness. org

I recently had a virtual visit with Dr. Richelle. We had technical difficulties, but that's not the reason for my low rating. Once we got on the phone we had a great visit and I appreciated that she listened to me about how I know my disease well and know what I need and that I was coming to her just for medication management. The low rating is for what happened after. She prescribed a medication that costs $426 on my insurance, and this is the medication I wanted to take, but when I called to request that the script be modified from 40mg to 80mg so I could cut them in half and save money (the cost was the same for 80mg, so I'd get 2 months for the price of one doing this) Dr. Richelle flat out NEVER RESPONDED. I called the office to follow up twice a week for nearly a month before I gave up and my depression was bad enough I couldn't go without the medication anymore. This is the only medication that works for me, so I don't have the option for something cheaper, and I was really hoping she could help me with this request. Even hearing a "no" from her would have been better than the absolute disregard shown to me. The office kept telling me that she just hadn't responded to her messages. The office admin ultimately apologized to me for her behavior and admitted it wasn't acceptable and he understood that I would not be continuing treatment with their offices. Dr. Richelle's lack of response to a patient request is unacceptable when it comes to medications that are time sensitive for severe psychiatric issues. I can't recommend her or this office to anyone needing treatment.

Dr. Rochelle cancelled my appointment without telling me and when I showed up was told she was taking investor meetings. She then changed her last name and when I came in for my appointment they acted like they had never heard of her. Turns out she got pregnant and moved to Florida without telling any of her patients, well not me at least and the others I saw come in confused. She claims to call in meds and doesn't.

Love my providers here. The reduced rating is only because they overdo it on the appt reminders: texts, emails, robocalls & robovoicemails--even if you've already responded to one of these and confirmed your appt, they still send ALL of them, repeatedly. But again, I very much like the services offered here.

My therapist, Meenal Patel, is incredibly personal! I feel like I can truly be myself in our sessions. Finding the right therapist can be very challenging, but Meenal certainly eases the process. Dr. Medina has been super helpful too! He takes time to listen, unlike most doctors who are looking at the clock the whole time. I highly recommend Uptown Psych, especially Meenal and Medina.

1:00pm: Arrived at appointment with Dr. Cao, had a productive session, had my meds adjusted, and Dr. Cao filed my prescription electronically. 1:30pm: Waiting for the train to my pharmacy, the pharmacist tells me they can't fill my prescription as they're out and I need to have my doctor change it. I call the office and the receptionist says that it's an easy fix and it should be done electronically before I reach the new pharmacy. 2:00pm: Pharmacist can't find it. I call the receptionist back and she says it should be any minute. 3:00pm: Still at the pharmacy with no luck I go home to pack for a work trip out of town. 3:30pm: I call a third time and the receptionist says to call again in 45 minutes. 4:15pm: I call again (as I was told to) and get a different receptionist who I have to explain this all again to, including that I have a train to catch. 4:20pm: Dr. Cao calls me and tells me she can't move it. I try to ask her if she can cancel at one and reassign to another but she keeps interrupting me and finally I give in and thank her for her time. (During this conversation she told me missing my prescription for a few days won't kill me so deal with it) I checked with both pharmacists at both locations (one a doctor) and specifically about my medication and they assure me that the prescription can be moved right now in about 5 minutes if Dr. Cao simply cancels and reapplied the prescription. 4:40pm: I call their office for the fifth time explains that this treatment is unprofessional and am told Dr. Cao will call me soon. 5:00pm: Having now missed my train I call their office and tell them I'm canceling my appointment and will be seeking a different physician. The receptionist tells me if I call again she's been instructed to call the police. This practice is a joke and not only does Dr. Cao not understand how pharmacies work, she's incapable of letting another person explain a situation and is verbally abusive over the phone. Avoid at all costs.

One of the worst experiences I’ve had with a psychiatrist’s office and I’ve had a few. I’m a chronic pain patient with stage IV endometriosis who has also been prescribed anti anxiety and anti depressants off and on for over a decade. I’ve gone years the “all natural” route and now believe in relieving symptoms when possible through medication. I was in the process of financially and physically preparing for my 4th surgery, a full hysterectomy I wanted to avoid because I had wanted children. My PCP referred me to this office as my anxiety, depression and PTSD from endless medical procedures began to kick in. I saw a nurse practitioner named Frank Rodell for about 4 months. He told me he would be leaving the practice temporarily and set me up with someone for the next 3 months. On the day of my first appointment with the new doctor I was hospitalized and immediately charged a $100 fee for missing my appointment. When I called to talk to them about it the woman I spoke to was extremely combative and said I would need to request my records from the hospital and have them sent over, and even though I was absolutely exhausted from compiling medical records for the last 4 months, I agreed to do that and asked to make an appointment. She told me that I could make an appointment but she had looked at my records and that I should be aware that she was likely not going to prescribe me the same medications. Her actual words were, “You realize that you’re on a lot of different medications right?” I said I understood that and I was attempting to get through to my surgery date before switching up any meds. As most women with endometriosis will tell you, we are used to not being believed and/or treated poorly but this doctor was especially cruel. I’m immobile 70% of the time from lesions pinching nerves in my back so traveling anywhere is difficult. She began the session by telling me that she wouldn’t treat me at all and that no doctor in that practice “would touch me with a ten foot poll.” I asked what the issue was since I knew all doctors have access to when/where prescriptions were filled so I knew there was no evidence to indicate I had somehow been misusing my meds. She said that in her opinion the anti anxiety med I was on shouldn’t be used ever. I tried to explain that I had tried almost every other medication ever created and I would gladly re-evaluate post surgery. I told her about my medical anxiety and the 20+ years I had undergone experimental medical therapies including some that did actually help such as biofeedback and hypogastric nerve blocks. Her only response was, “It sounds like you don’t like doctors and you don’t want to do what they tell you to do.” She concluded by saying she didn’t want to waste anymore of her time or mine and that she wished me luck but didn’t want to help. So if you choose this facility be aware that you’re choosing a place that decided to make a physically disabled person in dire need of help travel to their office to be insulted and talked down to.

Weirdos. I felt like I was in a cult in there. Nice comfortable offices, friendly staff. But the doctors have some WEIRD ideas. I'm suspicious of this place. Hasta la vista baby!

Terrible business. I was seeking a psychiatrist in Chicago area. I came here for 30 min appointment- the doctor rushed me out in 5-10 min. I paid in full at time of appointment. I have been bombarded with emails for more payments since. Very disorganized operation. Would recommend going elsewhere

All I can say is wow, in the worst way possible. I verified all my information with them three days before my appointment, get to the building where they are located to check in, and they tell me that the information is wrong and need to pay 350 upfront. Why wouldn't you call me again if the lady taking my information can't type correctly. Giant waste of time. THANKS

I have been to this office since 2013 and would not want to go anywhere else. My therapist Meenal Patel is the best she help me understand my issues and how to overcome them. Our sessions only an hour but she listens to me and don’t judge me I can talk to her about anything and I trust her with everything I say. That’s what I need and I am satisfied with her services.

I have been to many psychiatrist and therapist's offices in my life, and never have i had a more consistently unprofessional experience with Uptown Psych. I have had THREE separate doctors there get my prescriptions wrong and take days to fix it. I have been without meds I need daily on multiple occasions because of their incompetence. The receptionists are mean and unhelpful. Everyone, from the doctors to the receptionists behave in a way that makes me think they just actively detest the mentally ill. Yes, it's that bad.

Dangerous People - Dangerous Business Model Here is what you can expect from their SSRIs and Antidepressants: Restlessness Insomnia Akithesia Anxiety Brain Damage Suicidal and Homicidal ideation Why are these poisons legal? They are legal so these misguided and defrauding people and places can have jobs, so psychiatrists can charge hundreds of dollars per hour, so social workers can have jobs and these so called "proferssionals" can make a living at your expense. All this profit-driven behavior and reckless prescribing of these poisons is so they can addict you to their business model and drugs and keep the money coming in. Wake up and wean yourselves off of this madness, which is the main reason for the mass-shootings in our country and other problems, like crime and opioid abuse. Sick, sick, sick!!!

This office is very unprofessional. Was forced to pay 150 cancelation fee when I had not been to office in over a year. And on top of that forgot about my appointment. And had to do a rushed appointment for a first evaluation. The receptionist was rude and did not know how to handle client being frustrated with their service.

Michael Peterson

Dr Robinson was fantastic. She listened and didn't rush to go straight to medications for management of my symptoms. She took the time to listen. and give intelligent feedback. The session itself was good. The appointment process and front desk was quite unorganized though. 5 stars

Brandon Halley

I love this place. I started off seeing Dr Gorrepati, but he has since left and I started seeing Dr Rosa De Leon. I had my first meeting with her a few weeks ago and she was really great. I really enjoy the receptionists at this office as well. They're super kind and the fact that you can text their office phone # with questions instead of calling is so convenient as well. I always recommend this place when it comes up.

Megan Parker

I've had very negative experiences here. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Julia Stern

Love this office. Thank you all for helping me our especially Dr. Morrill and Sarah Pinkerton!
