After hearing about this practice online, I decided to give it a try. I had a poor experience right off the bat, as the practice owner (Dr. Malec) was in the waiting room discussing another patient's case in front of others! I was mortified. The other therapist (don't know her name) excused herself (good for her). While my therapist was nice enough, the "business end" of this practice is a mess- unethical, my bill was ALWAYS messed up and no one let me know until several months after I left...completely unprofessional and the "billing person" was unhelpful and not very knowledgable about the insurance basics. Save yourself the headache and go to an ethical practice where they place a high value on confidentiality and respecting you (even after you are done there).

The intake staff are INCREDIBLY RUDE AND THOUGHTLESS. I called with questions about the intake form, and was meet with a harsh and non-understanding attitude, and was told I was the only person to have issues with the form. Maybe a counseling company should treat patients with more respect and understanding ?!

tl; dr: counseling services are fine, billing and customer service is pretty terrible. If you want to fight to be treated well, with people who don't seem to care about your experience, while utlizing their average services, this is the place for you! My counseling experience was fine; not great, not terrible. I had issues with admin/billing. I was told I would be billed rather quickly after each session and I wasn't. I tried to follow up on the billing so as not to fall behind, but received very little contact. This was 6 months ago. I've since forgotten about the experience until today I get an email from Symmerty alerting me to a large charge. This is terribly inconvenient. It's also totally fine with their billing policies. I called to politely explain that this was a problem for me and that I was not at all arguing the charge, but hoped to find another solution for the timing of the payment and was open to what they could offer. The first person I spoke with was great. The second fell back on their policy, argued that they'd emailed me a notice several times and tried to get in touch with me (they hadn't), and that the only thing they could do was charge me less per visit. This is definitely a solution, but again, I wasn't arguing the amount, just the timing. I tried to explain and she was firm. Fair enough, this is their policy, no matter how it actual impacts me as a human being. I then ask to stay in the line while she completes the partial refund, then she hangs up on me while I'm mid sentence explaining that I was seeing two charges and no refund. I then called back to finish my sentence and was told that she didn't hang up on me (she did). The refund was indeed taken care of (so they're not getting just one star), but I'm not sure I had to be treated so poorly in the process. i came at them with politeness, but firmly wanting a more reasonable action. their actions were unnecessary. this is nuanced stuff, but why patronize a business that doesn't seem to give a s*** about you? i'll get my mental health needs met elsewhere with a smile.

I was very hesitant to get counseling because of the cost and the belief that it wouldn’t benefit me any more than just working through my challenges with my close friends and family. However, I am so glad I received counseling from Regis Storey at Symmetry Counseling! My experience was above and beyond my expectations and worth every penny! He helped me to learn about myself and others from a brand new perspective in a way that my closest friends and family wouldn’t have been able to. Regis was very easy to talk to, made me feel genuinely cared for, and I left each session confident and with a concrete plan how to take the next step toward health. He even provided me with a plethora of resources that will help me well beyond our counseling sessions. If you’re looking for someone to give you the tools to radically improve your mental health challenges in a sustainable way, Regis and Symmetry are for you!

I am grateful and appreciative of Symmetry and their outstanding counselors. I've seen 2 therapists for separate reasons at the Adams and Washington (now closed) locations. They each kept very reasonable and flexible hours, including evening, lunch, and weekend appointments. Both have proven to be knowledgeable, kind, and committed to seeing their patients improve. Their guidance has helped me grow personally and professionally. The waiting and individual rooms also offer magazines and literature on mindfulness, water fountains, tissues, paintings, and some pretty comfy couches. You could tell they were trying to create a positive/healing environment that I'm not sure is offered at other practices. Despite other reviews, I never needed to interact w an intake specialist. All of the introductory forms were available online and the therapists have been very responsive via email. Kudos to Symmetry, Emma, and Alexa. You rock!

Their lack of diversity is sad.
