My husband is a vet and we were referred to seek counseling here. Beautiful clean setting and receptionist/greeter seems like a super nice guy hence the two stars. We had an appointment at 9:30am, we arrived about 15 mins early. The counselor that we were referred to was half an hour late and when he came in we waited about 10mins more to see him. We got to talking for about 10-15 mins top and off the back he said what seems like to him is that my husband is seeking counseling for more percentage on our benefits? I'm sure this counselor deals with a lot of ppl who abuses things like that, but it was so unprofessional especially on the first meeting to say that right away. There was no sincere at all. First, he was really late and then he didn't even try to get to know more about my husband very well before assuming that he is just doing this for benefits, not for counseling. On top of that, My husband was already nervous/hesitant about seeking counseling, but he still went in because deep down he knew he needed the help. Hopefully we can see another counselor who understands and cares to listen, other than cutting meeting short and not giving any sincere or respect on a veteran. Not just my husband, but other veterans as well. What happened to understanding and listening to people who are actually in need of help? We left disappointed and got the vibe that the counselor thinks we were no need of help.
