If you are looking for a place of witch doctors and quacks this is the right place to go. If you are a murder witness against the state make sure the cops kill you too instead of sending you to this place. I have touched base with other witnesses who can confirm there's nothing delusional about what we witnessed so some of the quacks at this place are subjected to criminal charges when I get through with them. Also don't have any important evidence against law enforcement while in this place because they'll destroy it. Also do not have your family send you cloths because the staff running the building will steal them. Also if you have teenagers and live in Atlanta get them out of the state because if they are young enough they are subjected to become victims of human trafficking and prostitutes to cops, prosecutors, judges, lawyers, local politicians, doctors and state legislators before the get shipped to D.C and sold to members of Congress and the CIA if the live to make it there.

Not a good place to go if you are serious about getting treated! There is no one site experienced couseler only students who are studying. The doctors often lie to patients and they jump to conclusions for a dignoses! You are treated like a prisoner. You can not get showers when u like or drink when u like. You aren't treated like a patient in a normal hospital because I guess mental illness isn't you really being sick. The nurses are terrible and if u self admit yourself even if you realize u made a mistake u can't go home! You are in prison for being sick here! You are treated as an animal! Everything u have seen in horror movies is this place just in a lesser does! Please refrain from this place or any state funded hospital and go to your local community center for mental health!

My sister called me this morning with a panic attack. She suffers from grave mental and emotiobal disorders. I was at work I called 911 and sent them to her house. She called me back 9 hours later stating She was 10:13. Detained pending phyciatric treatment. I asked to speak with the doctor and or attending personel. Doctor refussed to get ob the phone. Addending lady who refused to say who she was said she couldn't tell me anything. These people are rude to say the least and more out of control than the people they treat. I will be filing a formal complaint with the medical board

Terrible facility!! They release my mentally ill daughter after she was in their care for 3 months without even telling me and I had Power of Attorney! I had no idea until she called me after she was out.

My beautiful daughter in there. Staff and Dr. Mercer have been extremely infomative. You really have 2 know what to ask. I like them. My daughter says some are nice and some seem not to care. But they are caring her good

I wish there was a lower rating than 1 star. This place is indescribable. I waited until our family member was safely out before writing this because if you question anything, the staff takes it out on the patient. The staff curse at the patients and call them retards. They refuse to unlock the bathroom for them and then punish them if they have accidents. The refuse to give them cups for water. All patients are treated deplorably, but the white patients are treated even worse. They are called stupid white boys and dumb crackers. The food is deplorable and in no way constitutes a healthy diet. The staff deliberately do things to antagonize the patients and then sit back and laugh when they react. Or worse, they give them a shot or put them in isolation for behavior that they provoked. A lot of the times, they blame the patients for imagining things because they are mentally ill but the families see and hear enough to know what's going on. Even most of the professionals are rude and irritable. The few staff and professionals who are compassionate seem helpless or unwilling to challenge what's going on.

Mr. Smith or Dr.Smith is excellent! He treated me like a normal person in Admissions. For the other ppl, thank you for treating me.

My daughter was admitted to Georgia regional hospital on 04/17/2014 with major depression and mental disorders. She also had physical problems related to Lupus. She was very frail and was in a wheel chair. She had both mental, physical and major health problems. The doctors there especially Dr. Pham, DR. Christopher, Ms. Deene Belame a nurse practitioner, the nursing staff and social workers worked with her for one year and she was discharged on 04/20/2015. She had completely recovered from her physical issues and she walked out of the hospital on her own without a wheel chair or walker. When she was admitted she weighed 86 pounds but when she left she weighed 130 pounds. She was coherent and no longer delusional. I am indeed grateful to the staff there especially Ms. Belame who took special interest in her and never gave up on her even though she was a very difficult patient.

Horrible experience today. The lady in the the front at the security gate is extremely unprofessional and rude for No reason! She shouldn't have a job working with the public. Very disappointed

I admitted myself to a hospital for help. They sent me to Regional. In the 23 hours i was here, I was kept in a sort of waiting room. We were not given beds and even though I was in for a minor reason, I was mixed in with prisoners there for evaluation. They didn't separate gender and had only 3 orderlies watching the 13 of us. Some of the patients had violent tendencies and were free to wander. It took 6 hours for me to even speak to a doctor who said I will be released whenever they got around to it. Do not send anyone here. They took in 5 more convicts before I left. It isn't safe.

Was assaulted by a staff member who was over 6'5" and 300lbs when i was a child. I was 14, maybe 100lbs. Punched me in the back of the head. Then picked up by the throat and slammed on a couch and then the floor. Then was kicked a couple of feet at a time, in the back (I have one kidney from an accident when i was 8) all the way down the hall and through a swinging set of doors. Placed in confinement. Because he was hearing noises coming from a room after lights out. There was noise being made but not in my room. They did an internal investigation, took pictures of the bruising that was obviously a handprint on my throat, etc. Then said that because the witnesses and my statements were too similar that we had to have gotten together and made up the whole thing. That i had another patient do the bruises on my throat and all intentionally to try and get the staff member fired. Unfortunately my mother was severely depressed at the time and didnt pursue any type of action from someone outside of the hospital. So im not even slightly surprised with everyone on here talking about a bunch of people who have died while there.
