I honestly can’t stand coming here. They take the longest time. Every time I come I end up having to wait over an hour if not two past my appointment time just to be called back to a room, then I have to wait another ten to fifteen minutes for the doc to come in just to write out the prescription. Like for real wasting all this time when all I need is a prescription written out. What’s the point in having an appointment time when they don’t follow the schedule.

I have been going to this place for several years. I have the best therapist, Tameka Woods, within the practice. I have seen a couple of different therapists here, but Tameka is by far the best. Dr. Hill and Myrtle are also really good. Myrtle takes her time and never makes me feel rushed. My therapist and the Dr seem to really work well together.

This office is the worst. WHEN they answer the phone the two ghetto receptionists are unprofessional and unconcerned. This was the worst experience ever. Multiple times the therapist fell asleep during the session after waiting over an hour to be seen. The ‘good’ therapists have all left because of the way Ms. Dorothy Watts runs the office, which explains why multiple short and long term disability companies are auditing this office. Patients in the waiting room were complaining about how they hated coming to this office. Instead of relieving stress for patients, they add stress because of their treatment of patients. Don’t come to this office if your looking for mental health care because they don’t know true therapeutic treatment. These are not professionals. From the front office staff to the therapists remaining, this place needs to be shut down.

I have had a great experience in this practice. The staff has in depth knowledge about the impact stress has on my body. They are very understanding and the staff are very kind and respectful. I also enjoy the fact a psychiatrist in house,so I do not have to go to separate places. I will highly recommend this office if you are going through intense stress. They have therapists and on staff to help you through difficult situations.

I was referred to Atlanta Psychotherapy back in 2004. I HIGHLY recommend Atlanta Psychotherapy for anything you need. They came highly recommended to me due to the issues I was having. I have also referred friends/family members to Atlanta Psychotherapy and we have all been coming for many years. I must say that I drive over 67 miles to see the staff at Atlanta Psychotherapy. If I felt that any of the doctors or nurses were not good medical professionals - I would not drive that far!!! I am VERY picky and particular about everything. Atlanta Psychotherapy sees a LOT of patients. I have never waited over 30 minutes to see a doctor or nurse - which I think is quite reasonable. Each time that I have seen any of the staff at Atlanta Psychotherapy, they have all been very caring, warm and professional. I have always felt comfortable with explaining my concerns to them. I am able to address concerns with them that I would not be able to address with my own family. They are very organized and private. I have never had any issues with the staff ever after coming for over 10 years. Throughout the years I have had issues where I needed a fast response and the staff at Atlanta Psychotherapy immediately responded. All of the doctors and nurses are very professional, dependable, and caring. It is very hard to find good doctors and nurses that will help you nowadays and Atlanta Psychotherapy is such a place! I recently had a life threatening issue and they helped me tremendously with the issue. They even worked with my other doctors to get me back to my normal self. The front desk has always been very polite and professional as well. They have always been very accommodating when it comes to scheduling. They carry an upbeat attitude and will make any corrections promptly if/when necessary. Prior to coming to Atlanta Psychotherapy, I had seen other therapists who were NOT helpful at all. If you are looking for someone who is going to REALLY WORK WITH YOU and any concerns you may have, I highly recommend Atlanta Psychotherapy. I trust this office with my life - and they have actually SAVED MY LIFE!!

The odds of them answering the phone are similar to the odds of your call being answered when calling a radio station. I have never done business with a place that basically acts as if you aren't their problem because your not sitting in there with an appointment.

I am been a client of Dorothy Watts on and off for about 12 years. Dorothy has helped me and supported me through some very difficult times. She has taught me so many self help skills in order to navigate through some of the most trying time in my life. Loosing someone to terminal illness and another to suicide I didn’t know what I would do most days. Thanks to Dorothy and the entire staff of Atlanta Psychotherapy for giving me the attention and support I so desperately needed. Over the years I have seen this practice grow ( A Lot) and sometimes there’s a little bit of a wait but I tell you it is so worth it because I know she’s giving them the same attention she has given me on so many days. My son appointment was at 930. We arrived at 915. Did not walk in to see doctor Hill till 11. He told us he wasnt ready yet and we had to go back out (assistant brought us in). I stated we have another appointment at 1130. He states its my priorities. I DO NOT RECOMMEND DOCTOR HILL !!

I am even worse coming out than I was going in. I feel like I paid a co-insurance just for my therapist to tell me that she had not yet received my paperwork and to come back in a week. When I did get to speak, she completely ignored my requests and the result was a near mental break down. I made an appt to see a different therapist and they stuck me with her again! After voicing my complaints about her failure to do her job, her recommendation was to send me to a psychiatric hospital that specialized in substance abuse! I don't have substance abuse problems! I don't recommend this place to anyone. I will definitely be issuing a formal complaint.

When Dr. Ray passed away, I was referred to Dr. Ahmed located here. I only got to see him once, then the assistants on 2 of my follow up appointments. I was seen within 20 minutes of my appointment. On my third appointment, I was told Dr. Ahmed was no longer with Atl Psychotherapy. Since he has left I have to wait 2-1/2 hours after my appointments to see the "new" doctor for 5 minutes of doctor time. I miss Dr. Ray so much! I would not recommend this place or their "new" doctor. Don't even know the doctor's name.

I went a couple of weeks ago.They stop taking blue cross without sending any notice in the mail. I personally do not like the management here.If you are removing ANY insurance you MUST send a notice in the mail at least one month ahead of time to avoid inconvenience for peoples treatment. and they stopped taking it since August of this year. When I use to go earlier we used to wait over hours to see a doctor,their timing is better now but I thought it was not professional not to let people know about insurance removal.

Today was my first time going to this practice. Worse experience of my Life. Let me start by saying when you set up the appointment for the first time they tell you to arrival 25 before your appointment to fill out paperwork, I did that. They took my copay and I sat in the waiting area for 30-45 minutes still unseen. Take in mind I live 30-40 minutes away from this place. I had a 3pm appointment scheduled about 15 minutes away from that place so the timing was perfect even if the therapy session went over a few minutes or I had to wait a little bit before my appointment. I was Never seen, they kept my copay for the next appointment ( I guess to ensure I’ll be back) .Very bad first impression, I guess I’ll go back for one session just so I won’t lose my co pay. But this was highly Unprofessional and Not how you treat a first time patient! I hope they can make up for it with good counseling but this place definitely put a bad taste in my mouth!!!

I have been coming to Atlanta Psychotherapy for a little over 10 years. A friend of mine recommended me to this office. They are very helpful at Atlanta Psychotherapy. I wouldn't go anywhere else! I have never experienced a long wait time to see a doctor or nurse. The therapists, nurses, and front desk are all courteous and professional. They provide a very comfortable atmosphere for you to relax and let them know of your problems. They let you know that they are there for you if you need anything. They have your back at all times. The therapists are all friendly and caring. I recommend coming to Atlanta Psychotherapy. You will feel right at home where you can talk to any of the therapists about anything. I also come over 45 miles to see them. They are worth driving the distance!

I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder 20 years ago I know my medication what works and what does not dr hill if you can call him dr is the worst I have ever delt with you wait over an hour for your appointment he tries to change your meds constantly his office staff just passes you off from one person to the other because they dont want to do theirJOB.. you would think that that kind of office they would handle their patients a little kinder..needless to say I will never be back and I would advise anyone else not to either your waiting your time and money..

I am a long term patient at this office. The staff is always helpful with my medication. I cannot understand all the hateful comments. I have witnessed rude patients, who argue about paying their bill. Well, nothing in life is free. Even after staff members explains what amount is due, that is, co-pay, deductible, and whatever co-insurance, people are still angry. Yes, at times you will have to wait, but, if you can’t wait, just find another agency. GOOD LUCK!!!! A satisfied customer for over 13 years.

The staff seems friendly, the nurse practitioner is nice and efficient but I haven't met Dr Hill yet. I've been going here for about 3 years and have seen staff, nurses and doctors come and go for what ever reason. The one and only problem I have is their telephone service. Really frustrating. I went for my monthly appointment yesterday morning , got a new prescription which needed to have a pre-authorization before I could get it filled. My pharmacy didn't have it in stock and wouldn't get it until next week. I called them over 20 times, left about 10 voicemails with no call back. I called this morning about 10 times and left only one message......Said "I'm on my way!!!" Once I arrived, after another 18 mile drive, I asked to speak with their office manager. I was surprised that I was able to. After venting my frustrations she agreed that they do need more staff and that their phone issues was a problem. She was very helpful and professional. She had the Dr write me a new prescription ( just more milligrams) and said she would make sure the pre-authorization would be called in. After driving 18 more miles, I gave my pharmacy the new script which was filled on the spot. They called my insurance company while I was in route and got the authorization. Bottom line, make sure you stay their to make sure they call your insurance company with any new medications.

HORRIBLE experience. The office lacks the ability to simply verify insurance coverage. Not to mention that they make you wait forever to verify the correct insurance information. They called the wrong insurance company to verify the correct information. I called the insurance while at there office and was told there was full coverage and they tried to get $150.00 out of me. I had the insurance on the phone and they would not speak with them to get the correct information. Not to mention we waited an hour before we were told the wrong info. Run away as far as you can and give Dr. Ahmed a call instead.

I do agree with the negative comments they do not answer the phone when clients call. They take forever to sent your FMLA and short disability paper in to the the disability company that handles it. once they send it your claim has been denied and now your job at jeopardy and you don’t have a paycheck. i do not recommend at all

This place is a scam. I schedule my appointment with Dorothy Watts at no time was I told I wasn't going to see Dorothy Watts. I arrived at my appointment with another therapist who was unorganized and really made a bad 1st impression. I will be reporting this to my EAP provider and my insurance company . I will take the rest of my sessions to someone else . PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME !!!!

Couldn't tell you what the doctors are like, but if they're half as incompetent and lacksidaisical as the office staff.....RUN FOR YOUR OWN SANITY!!! First they lost an appointment I'd been waiting a month and a half for, then when I finally did get in they tried to charge me 100 dollars more than what I'd been told over the phone for the visit. Really? This is how you treat people who are already having a hard time? Come on!! I will never step foot back in this office. Hope the couple extra bucks was worth it to them.

This establishment was incredibly rude to both me and my mother, the staff on hand treated us as if we were nothing but dust in the wind. The biggest problem resulted when office staff used deceitful, unprofessional, and unethical practices to take advantage of us. unfortunately , a woman in the waiting area admitted to falling victim to the same maliciousness. She was double billed, I strongly encourage that you find a different practice.

Dorothy Watts along with Dr. Ray and Dr. Amin Dorothy Watts has helped 100's of my friends and co-workers as I was referred to her back in 2007. She along with the staff of APT have been cordial and helpful with helping with my situation and and is highly recommended by me. Nothing is a quick fix but when you find the right team to assist you on getting your life back on track, it is a load off of your shoulders. Dud to the volume that this office does they have multiple therapists and a psychiatrists to assist with your needs.And you may have to schedule in advance but they can fit you in if they have cancellations.Every therapist may not fit your needs or be your cup of tea but due to the high volume that APT does many patients seem to be very satisfied!

Not only will I not go back, I will also report her to the Georgia board. I must add that my appointment was at 1:45, I arrived at 1:30, was not seen until 4:00.

An office staff member told my son they could no longer help him. Not the Dr. Or nurse practitioner but an office worker. And when we asked for a referral, they told us to call the insurance company. It took me some time to convince my son that he was not a lost cause. That's the way this place made him feel.

The only reason I'm even giving the score of one star is because it's the lowest score that can be given. I would not recommend this counseling facility and I definitely would not recommend Dorothy Watts for anyone. This was my first visit and I can say I was disappointed. My first and only appointment was scheduled for 2:00pm, I arrived at 1:34pm and I was not called back to be seen until 2:26pm. Dorothy directed me to her office which had patient files everywhere! It was neither comfortable or relaxing, and it was most certainly not confidential. To have patient files out in the open and sprawled across her desk for almost anyone to have easy access to is completely unethical and I'm pretty sure breaking some HIPPA laws. For the only 40 minutes I was in her office, I never had her full attention. During our session she was getting paged on her office phone, which she answered. And at one point one of the front desk staff members even knocked on the door looking for another patient's folder; which she asked for by name. Dorothy interrupted her session with me to search from atop her open desk and bookcase to retrieve the folder for the unprofessional staff member. Dorothy herself was very unprofessional. When I answered her questions she would make little noises and gave one-worded responses such as "yea" and "hmm" that reminded me of when you are talking to a person and they aren't really listening but they hear your voice. When she asked me a specific question about what my faith is and if I was of a certain religion, her response to my answer was "WOW!" I felt this was a judgmental response. I will be filing a formal complaint. Please, whatever you do, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS PRACTICE!

Expect extremely long waits to see a psychiatrist for 5 mins. I wait on average anywhere from 1 -2 hours each time. Wish there were more options to assist with mental health on this side of town.
