Patient service is lacking.
To start, I have no doubt in Dennis's ability as a therapist, he did help and his service as a professional was valuable. My prime complaint is a lack of consistency and professionalism, in so far as respect of time and scheduling is concerned.
Dennis is up front with being a busy man, which he is. However, as a consumer of his services, it doesn't matter to me how busy he is when out of a three month window I had only seen him maybe five times. To be clear, out of a three month period, that's seven missed appointments, all of which were due to him cancelling, sometimes very abruptly (he gave less than an hour's notice on one occasion), and lack availability, the latter being at least understandable.
The worst offense on his part was an occasion where he was over an hour late to an appointment. His claim was that he had to attend to an emergency as part of his other profession, which I do not doubt, but again, as a consumer of his services, I should not be the one to suffer the consequences of his burdens.
I had also left messages for him to reschedule cancelled appointments, which were never returned, and so I chose to take that as my window of opportunity to find help else where.
Again, I will give him his due, he was, at least for me, an excellent therapist. Having said that, his priorities are not focused around this practice, at least from what I experienced. So I, as someone who is seeking help and who should prioritize my own well being, had no other choice but to look elsewhere.
I don't personally believe he should have this business running with the lack of availability for the patients he takes on. My only hope is to either steer others with more time sensitive issues towards other facilities which may have greater availability and consistency, or that he begins to treat the time of his clientelle with more respect.
