This group of people could not be better. With a lifetime aversion to anything "mental health," you can believe me when I tell you Aversa is a completely different monster. Absolutely fabulous people.

The receptionist was nice, and the atmosphere of the office was pleasant. However, I was not very impressed at all with my therapist, to be honest. She just made me so... uncomfortable. I felt like I was under a microscope, in which she was incorrectly analyzing and altogether misinterpreting my feelings and my body language (e.g. once I was rubbing my eyes out of tiredness and she became annoyed and accused me of "hiding" from her.... um, what?). Aside from being very judgmental, she barely asked me any questions to help guide the session. Instead, she just mostly stared at me awkwardly and expected me to talk about random stuff. I have a lot of difficulty expressing my emotions verbally as it is. I cannot just be expected to talk on my own without guidance. Worst of all, she kept ending the sessions about 10-15 minutes early. Overall, I felt like I was being treated like a waste of her time. I certainly did not feel valued or validated by her as a client. Perhaps some of the other therapists there are better, though.

Attempted to contact this place four times. First time was via email and wouldn't answer my question insisting I call in. Next two times it went to voicemail. Fourth time I got someone on the phone who demanded I speak up, immediately shut down that they had no openings when I first started asking, then would aggressively repeat their questions when i didn't answer fast enough. Asked if I only had evenings and after saying I was flexible admitted they might have one opening. They then asked what I wanted counselling for and when I didn't answer fast enough started to list off examples in an impatient tone. I decided to just drop the call after the woman on the other end of the line said "Hello?!" so loudly I could hear her clearly with the phone away from my ear. If people are reaching out with mental illness to get help, then it should at least be helpful. I didn't even walk into the door of that place and had a horrible experience.

I'd love to be able to write about the quality of their counseling. However... when a child is denied the help they need due to requiring a neglectful parent's permission to seek counseling... I'm left with little choice. It's a pathetic excuse, and an accurate depiction of the appalling state of our countries' psychological healthcare policies.

My therapist was professional and helpful. She gave thoughtful insightful comments and asked meaningful questions to address my problems. Her advice was always provided in a kind but professional way. I would recommend this practice to anyone.

I found the atmosphere friendly and welcoming. I felt comfortable with my counselor who was very professional, helpful and understanding of my situation. I highly recommend them.
