After struggling with resistant recurrent MDD for decades, I had really given up on all therapists. However, I recently found myself in a very bad place and agreed to give it one more try. I have very high standards and would only consider someone who was referred to me by someone I know and trust. Dr. Penta was that someone. Unfortunately, after the months I waited to call him, he was very sorry to tell me that he was no longer accepting new patients. However, he listened to my story, understood the trouble I was in, and assured me that he would get back to me with names and numbers of some who could help me. I had heard that many times before and had no reason to expect a call, but he did call. He gave me a few names and numbers of his colleagues who could fit me in rather quickly. Again, since I did not personally know anyone who had seen them, I expected to be disappointed. I could not have been more wrong! I had the great fortune to begin seeing Dr. Tom Patenaude (find my reviews of him on other sites). Although I never actually saw Dr. Penta as a patient, I can attest to the fact that he is an asset to his profession, a man who clearly does what he does to sincerely try to help those in need. Based on that one short phone call, he knew I needed help, and he made sure that I got it. Unfortunately, I have found that this is rare behavior amongst the so-called mental health professionals I have previously encountered. FIVE STARS for Drs. Penta and Patenaude!
