This vet center is the worst that I've been to hands down. It matches the VSO and VA clinic in the springs just terrible service. I don't know how the vets in colorado put up with it.

cameron badgwell

Went their 3 time this guy name waymen told told me depression wasn't real and there is no such thing as a pill to cure mental illness and that I need to just get over it. I ask to switch Counselors and here we are 4 months down the road and nothings happen I've followed up twice to see where I was in the process of getting switched and still nothing came of if.

Kicked me out even though I am a veteran.

I’m rather surprised by Badgwell and Emer’s negative comments regarding their experiences at the Vet Center. To say, “They are completely useless, don’t care, and the place is a joke” is inaccurate considering how much time and effort they put into their clients. The Vet Center has high standards and requires a lot of attention to detail, and excellent customer service to ensure combat veterans are getting the proper care and services needed. Furthermore, all of the therapists put their clients safety above all things. Your comment , “Places like this are why the veteran suicide rate stays so high” is uncalled for. Although everyone is entitled to their own opinion, there’s a difference between being subjective and giving constructive criticism to help an organization improve. None of which I saw. It’s a hasty generalization to conclude the Vet Center is the cause of suicide rates being so high. They are there to help set up and give services based on qualifications, with a sheet of additional resources front and back provided at the front desk for veterans to utilize. I have been referring a lot of people to the Vet Center for years, including close friends who haven’t said a single negative thing about their experiences at the Vet. I continue to support the Vet Centers mission and thank all of the staff for doing such a wonderful job.

I'll be making a move to Colorado springs from Michigan 3 weeks. I'm hoping they can help with the shift. I'd like to get back into corrections

This place is a JOKE! Referred me to another place on Ft Carson who also had zero answers for me. They dont care. Completely useless. Places like this are why the veteran suicide rate stays so high.

THIS RATING IS BASED OFF OF ONE STAFF MEMBER, NOT THE ENTIRE VET CENTER! Every person at the vet center I have dealt with was friendly and helful EXCEPT for my counselor tarvore. She made me feel like I was just an inconvenience to her in the few interactions I had with her by phone or appointment. She was not helpful whatsoever and always seemed like she had more important things to do besides see me. How she is even qualified to provide mental health services to veterans baffles me. I have had many positive experiences with the VA, but this "therapist" is the dictionary definition of the stereotypical negative perception of the VA. I highly recommend the Vet Center, just not tarvore. I requested a new therapist and so far they have been amazing.

Thoughtful, helpful, compassionate, inspirational and responsive! Best VA experience I have had yet, thanks to Waymon S. and staff.

I called to ask if we needed an appointment to talk to someone. The person who answered wanted to know what I needed and I said we needed help finding a place to stay with our rv. My husband started back with his former employer. The person on the phone hurriedly rattled off 2 phone numbers for human services and partners in housing. I asked if they would help with an rv park and he said "I don't know, ma'am, I've never used them". End of conversation! We've used vet reps in MN that were helpful, thoughtful and really cared...what a disappointing experience here in Colorado...
