This psychiatrist renewed my faith in the complex and emotionally difficult divorce system. My case was painful, and was both emotionally and financially expensive. I was the respondent and didn't wish the case at all. He was assigned by the court. Dr. Gaughan met with each of our family members. He carefully, with firm control and with an open ear dissected the complexities of my (the) case. My case had a lot of parental polarization and estrangement between my children and I that sometimes occurs in difficult cases. I was very anxious that these meetings would amount to nothing but added expense, delay and lack of clarity. Instead, he helped my children and I come to a near total recovery of emotional attachment and caring, even though my kids didn't even want to meet with him! I cannot thank him enough. I recommend him without reservation for all. Listen carefully to him. Be open to and follow his advice. See if it doesn't work for you. I have strong faith that it will, if you follow his advice.

He is very unprofessional. He is corrupted. He is liar and manipulative person. Unfortunately he has immunity and I can't do anything. Because of his report two minor children will live in agony next 12 years. We requested his file and he send to us 5 months later!!! With all proves for his lies, but it was very late. After the trail! If this is justice for all, please help me god... But the TRUE will see green light one day... If you want advice - Don't waste your time, money and most important - YOUR LIFE with this "expert"!

I hired Dr. Gaughan during my custody trial to help me understand the results of my ex's court ordered evaluation and how they pertained to my daughter's well being/best interests. He reviewed the report with me and was very informative. He helped me understand how my daughter could be affected and suggested safeguards to help protect her. He also gave me insight about the situation and brought me to a higher level of understanding. After reviewing everything with me he allowed me to get my attorney on the phone, gave her all the information she needed and answered all of her questions as well. The court ended up putting his suggestions in the court order. Although I hope I never need his services again, I would hire him again in a heartbeat. He did exactly what I hired him to do and more.

Dr. Gaughan is TERRIBLE! We used Dr. Gaughan's services for our custody dispute. He was completely unprofessional, as was his inexperienced staff. He is too cheap to send test results out for 3rd party testing so his analysis is usally incomplete and biased. After speaking with other psychologists specializing in family custody battles, it's well known that Dr. Gaughan is simply after a quick buck and does not care about the individuals he sees. We've been urged by many to file a complaint against him.

I've been to court 71 times in front of 16 judges. The courts have continually misconstrued my profession in the horror entertainment business as having to do with my abilities as a parent. Dr. Gaughan wasted no time (or money) in getting down to business and to the reality of the case. He quickly saw through the ongoing misperceptions and we were able to quickly address and correct the problem areas of communication which had occurred between myself and the other party. Dr. Gaughan has a pleasurable demeanor, is very experienced, can spot nonsense quickly, was very assistful, and provided a great amount of incite for the future. I'd strongly recommend Dr. Gaughan's services for resolving family court difficulties.

If you are considering working with, or God forbid, working FOR this man, RUN for your life. He is arrogant, lies, blames every mistake on his unfortunate staff and bad mouths anyone who has the sense to walk away. He can't find a file to save his life, when most of the time they are stuffed somewhere in HIS office. Thank GOD I'm headed out of state, forcing me never to deal with him again. If you have worked for him, he'll run you into the ground to the new person he's hired before admitting he's made an error. And try to get paid!!! He'll accuse you of stealing the money, when in fact he's breaking IRS code by pretending his "staff" are independent contractors. This to avoid paying any taxes on wages earned. If he's not careful, or pulls one more "she's stealing" stunt, the board of ethics and the IRS are getting letters. Do us a favor and quit Mr "Gone". You've lost your mind, you're in the same league as your whack clients and a disgrace to your profession.
