I am overwhelmed with gratitude today for the opportunity to work at a place where I get to witness modern miracles! Today, I watched yet another patient walk out the door and back into their life after coming to us with no function in their upper and lower extremities. Through the dedicated and skilled hands of therapists, rehab nurses and techs, the miracle happened. How many people get to go to work and see that? I do. We don't spend thousands of dollars to advertise to our community that we have been ranked in the top 10% of all inpatient physical rehabilitation hospitals is the US for the last several years - but it's true. The people I work with are the very best in the field at what they do, the very best! Our patients know, and those of us here every day who get to see the miracles happen - we know that Regional Rehab Hospital is a special place. How lucky I am to work in a place like this, with people who change lives. Yes, I am very grateful.

In March of 2014, I was a patient at RRH. I had a lite stroke & needed help learning how to walk, get dress & shower. Thank God my speech & my mind were in check. I was very nervous about going to RRH only because of other, 'not so good' hospital visits. I was so nervous & scared that my BP was 179/101! YIKES! RRH took WONDERFUL, GREAT & EXCELLENT care of me. After I came back from my EAMC evaluation due to the high BP, RRH took over & did what they do best. I have visited many hospitals & was a patient at only one other (EAMC). I can honestly say without hesitation that Regional Rehab Hospital is the best there is so much so I didn't want to leave. The entire staff was wonderful. From the doctor (Dr. Ellis) to the Nurse Manager (Annie M.), the Nurses, (Sharry, Bria, Tonya, Emily, Stephanie, Lisa, Judy, Robin, Mary, Brandon, Wendy & Paula) were fabulous! The physical/occupational therapist (Mike, Sterling ((who is no longer on my hit list. LOL)), Melvin, Jaliesha, Amy, Leah, Mandy, Joan, Jamela, Kiersten, Mitzie, Corey, Ebony & Kevin) were the very best & even entertaining! RRH also have wonderful Techs (Amanda, Carrie, Tonya, Jonathan, Dorris, Daveon, Michelle, Ashley, Krystal, Shantel, Octavia, DEXTER ((look for a big smile & you will find him)), Glinda, Ms. Eddie, Shannon & Nichole). The counsel er, staff super visor, director & manager (Lindy, Carrie, LaShun, Kristie & Rejena) were all apart of my not wanting to leave. They made my stay at RRH very comfortable. Today, I am able to walk on my own and dress myself. I am doing much more now than did after the stroke. I thank GOD for miracles & RRH for helping me to achieve what I thought would be impossible. Upon entering RRH, I found it quite disturbing that several patients were sitting in wheelchairs the corridor exhibiting various states of consciousness. One had a developmental disability, while others appeared have cognitive disabilities. One of men persistently called out to me several times, while the nurses advised me to ignore him. Overall, treatment of my Mom for knee replacement surgery was adequate. There were several nurses and nurse techs that were outstanding, while others seemed distracted and disengaged. One pair of them left my 80 year old Mom, with limited mobility, in the bathroom alone, where she tumbled to the floor. The supervisor on duty that night called to inform me of the fall and accommodated me well when I returned to check on my Mom. The nurse and the tech apologized for the calamity, however, upon investigation, it was determined that my Mom had been left unattended and without a wheelchair available. Although I find this unacceptable, the RRH CEO defended the negligent staff members. The kitchen staff was very accommodating and courteous. The meals were generally palatable and balanced. The physical therapists, occupational therapist and speech therapist were all exceptional!! The rooms were austere. IF you or a loved one with a brain-injury must stay at RRH, please be vigilant about your loved one's care. There were times when medications were delivered late or missed entirely. In general, the facility's standard of care seems very inconsistent as some staff is amazing, while others simply don't care.

Oct 10, 2016... My grandmother has been at Regional Rehab for a week now and I WILL BE TAKING HER OUT OF HERE IMMEDIATELY! After having knee surgery, the Dr recommended rehab to help her get back to walking. This place is the worst rehab/hospital I've ever seen. After paging and calling for help for 2 hours to help her to use the bathroom, since she's unable to walk, no one ever came. Needless to say she had an accident in the bed and they still haven't came to check on her or change her linens and clothes. They have messed her meds every night but once and have not given her insulin properly at all. I've heard the nurses complain about being exhausted and having attitudes. There are a few nurses who have been great and a few of the rehab staff are absolutely wonderful but a the few good are very out numbered by the horrible. I will NEVER bring a loved one here again. They have left her in pain (forgetting to bring her meds), left her in dirty clothes/sheets, and have even caused her to get Ecoli. This place is a filthy, diseased dump with horrible staff, horrible care and horrible food! Thus place should be shut down PERMANENTLY!!!

My father was a patient at Regional Rehab Hospital in Phenix City, AL recently with a brain injury due to multiple falls. While there he and his visiting family members could not have received any better care. Nursing and therapy staff members were very caring, attentive and knowledgeable. There is no better place to go if you are in need of therapy.

The rehabilitation and rehab staff are great. On the other hand the care side is negligent and dangerous. My father had 3 falls in the first 3 days .the staff lied and said he was too quick after the bed alarms went off after calling the nurse supervisor she told me it was human error the bed alarms were not activated. I go check on him 2 twice a day and consistently find dangerous mistakes today bed alarms not on straws in cup. If you choose this facility make shure you can check in or the patient will suffer.

My father was in their care, he was 85 ... Rehab for probably a mini stroke. Was no longer able to get up without assistance. Weakness in his arms. But, he required assistance to get to the bathroom. Ring and ring for assistance. Ask for assistance. Hunt someone down for assistance was very common. Doctor assigned to him in rehab center useless. Rehab staff was very nice, but failed to notice symptoms of his next mini stroke. We came to join him after his morning session... he was slightly slumped in his wheelchair, speaking with a distinctive slur, and the rehab person said it wasn't one of Dad's better mornings...DUH! .. 911 Wouldn't let these people treat my dogs.

If you have a love one who has dementia, this is not the facility for your love one. The care is limited .

My dad got stronger after a two-week stay at Regional Rehabilitational Hospital. I was surprised to see him standing and walking after months of bed rest and a diagnosis of colon cancer. My dad is not the easiest person to deal with but nursing staff were cordial and supportive. He's been at home now for 9 months and he still talks about how much he loves the therapists he had at Regional. This is a top-notch facility and I would highly recommend it.

I have never experienced the care, kindness, professionalism and yes you can't help but be motivated by this staff of professionals. They deserve to be recognized in so many ways.

This place has the kindest employees and fantastic therapy. Would highly recommend to anyone who needs rehabilitation.

If you have a loved one that needs rehab/therapy DO NOT bring them here. This is the worst place I've ever been. Four days and there has been some type of "miscommuntion" everyday they "lose" orders and leave patients sitting or laying in their feces and or urine for unacceptable amounts of time. Hospital bed with all four rails up is considered a restraint "the patient may try to climb out" but being strapped into wheelchair is not a restraint because it's Velcro and they can undo it. If a patient is strong enough to try and climb out of bed over a rail then why are they even here? How is a Velcro belt keeping a patient strapped in wheelchair not considered a restraint? If the patient is not in therapy they put them in bed or strap them in wheelchair and leave them sitting beside nurses station they don't even sit them in other chairs, bed or wheelchair that's it. Pull emergency light and response time is at least ten minutes or longer. Very disgusted with this place!!!

Nurses were caring and very informative.

I don't usually run into rude people, but the therapist here acted like I had asked him to commit murder when I requested a print out of the exercises so I could continue them at home. Also, the referring doctor said I had arthritis in my hip. The therapist kept saying the pain was coming from my back.

Arrie Brannon

My husband was sent here after 7 surgeries on the same hip. He is 80 years old, blind in left eye, beginning Dementia, very fragile. DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY, took 45 minutes to get someone to get him from my car inside on admission date. Waited an additional 30 minutes for his "Nurse" which was a Tech. to come in and initiate oxygen prior to entering information into Computer. The medication was not entered correctly, he was not given his heart pill, potassium, nor correct Dementia pill, the tech entered Ambien instead of Ativan as you know could be devastating. Therapy inutiated a STRENUOUS Therapy that started his hip bleeding, he became sick was very sore, the antibiotic he was given required administration of a slow 5 minute injection into his pic line, the so called nurse PUSHED which made him deathly sick, vomiting on a daily basis. The nurses will not answer the call request for help in a timely manner, upon going to the restroom the tech. did not clean him properly leaving feces on his buttocks and the back of his leg. Attitudes suck. 4 years ago we used this facility with WONDERFUL RESULTS. Now its no different than your average dirty nursing home with patients sitting out in the halls strapped into the wheel chairs. I complained daily to a Nurse Supervisor with only a response of apology, The nurses that smoke come into the room reaking of stinking smoke, this includes Nursing Supervisors. I removed my husband brought him home sick, the next day he had to be hospitalized on an Emergency, taken, by ambulance to the Hospital.. He is now in ICU WITH PNEUMONIA. I'm sure he aspirated vomit when he threw up on a daily basis. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY. Go to Orchardview on Blackmon Road. I do not want Health South ( Co-Owners) contacting me for further appologies, they will only band aid the problems. This place needs full investigation, I question Nursing credentials being valid. Before using this facility go abd observe the appearance of the nurses, techs. Etc. NOT PROFESSIONAL at all. Unkept, all around appearance.
