childs play therapy is wonderful! They really care for each one of their patients and it shows. We were fortunate enough to get Mrs.Allison at the Hoover office and she really goes above and beyond to make the kids feel comfortable and the adults. She has taught my son so much in such a little time it amazes me and all our family and friends see such a change in his speech...You can tell she truly loves her job and and my son loves going to see her each week .I have no doubt that his speech will be up to speed when he starts kindergarden thanks to Allison.

To say we are thankful for Mrs. Allyson at Child's Play Therapy Center in Hoover is a huge understatement. Both of my boys, ages 7 and 6, who saw her for speech therapy, not only enjoyed every single session, but learned so much in such a short amount of time. It is obvious Mrs. Allyson enjoys her work, loves her students, and has a gift for connecting with them to get the most benefit from each session. My boys truly felt like she was interested in them as people, not just in their speech. In addition, she spent a few minutes with me at the end of each session giving me a detailed description of the types of methods/activities she used and how my children responded to them, listening to me carefully (never dismissing what I was saying), and giving a mini-lesson to me on how to continue specific methods at home. I learned a great deal from her about speech therapy. She is truly THE BEST! (Seriously, it's not even close.) With that said, I have to point out that while sitting in the waiting room each week, I noticed all of the therapists at Child's Play appear to be the same with their students and parents. It is a warm, inviting atmosphere that kids pick up on immediately. I chose to sit in the waiting room each week, but did have the option of going back to watch or even viewing the session on a tablet from the waiting room. The office staff was extremely friendly, as were other parents and children in the waiting room. I whole-heartedly recommend Child's Play Therapy and more specifically Mrs. Allyson. You won't be disappointed! Edited to add: I asked my boys what they thought about Child's Play and they both answered with comments about Mrs. Allyson. My 7 year old said, "She always knew what to do with my speech and picked out fun games. She also liked to talk about baseball." My 6 year old said, "She was always happy and was a good listener."

We used Child's Play Therapy Center last year for our son in preschool. They were able to work with him during his school day once a week. This worked out very well for our schedule and for him to feel comfortable as well. Together, we set our goals for his progress and he was able to reach those goals before the end of the school year. They were very easy to work with and even provide opportunities for missed classes due to school closings or holidays. The communication after each session was very helpful. We knew what to continue to work on before his next session. I would definitely recommend their services!

Laura is a fantastic occupational therapist with my 2 year old daughter. We have been seeing her since Claire was discharged from NICU. Laura has helped us with feeding issues, including learning how to drink from a bottle and a cup, as well as fine motor skills. Laura has provided tangible activities that we can use in our everyday lives. It is hard to believe how much progress Claire has made in her short little life and Laura has been a critical part of that progress.

We are with Child’s Play Therapy. I have an eight year old son with Down Syndrome. We have used their services for over a year. What an amazing team from the first time we contacted them. The staff is kind and loving and knowledgeable. My son is doing tremendous with the help of our speech therapist. Your not just another person, another child, your part of the Child’s Play Family. My husband and I are so blessed and thankful to have them be apart of our son’s journey. Thank you for all you do for Fisher and the many other children you see. We are so thankful for you.

Our daughter is a little behind with her speech. She just turned 2. We are so thankful for Child'sPlay and her speech language pathologist Emilee! Our daughter seems to be catching on quickly and we know this would not be happening without Child'sPlay and Emilee!! I would highly recommend Child'sPlay to anyone! Thank you!!

We LOVE Child'sPlay! Bright, welcoming, child-friendly environment. The staff is wonderful, helpful, and always smiling. My two daughters are currently attending the Sticky Fingers Summer Camp and are having a blast! They are working on gross motor and fine motor skills, learning letters, and improving social skills. They look forward to camp every week!

My son has been in OT therapy at Child's Play for over a year. We appreciate the knowledge and professionalism of the staff and have seen improvements in his writing skills and fine motor skills in the period. We also appreciate the fact that Anne will travel to my sons school for the therapy. Anne is the best. Highly recommended.

My daughter was seen sometime January for specifically an auditory processing delay. When I spoke to the office manger, I explain when we had been experiencing and she recommended a sensory disorder, which didn’t make sense but I am not the professional. After arriving I was lucky offered the opportunity to attend the appointment with my daughter. I know from the beginning the test the offered was NOT correct. But again I am not the professional. 30 minutes later, I became extremely agitated because daughter and I was rushed to the front to checkout from the appointment. I kept explaining that we were given the wrong therapist and that I would like to speak with someone in the back right rather in front of the entire signin area, where every single word was heard by the patients of the practice. Maybe 15 patients were in view. I was embarrassed, frustrated and shown NOT 1 ounce of concern from any of the staff. I kept telling the office manager that I felt like my HIPPA rules are being violated. My entire appointment was feeling spilled and the office manger could care less. I asked for someone to give me a call once I left, I was promised that they would and I was never given a courtesy call regarding this debacle of an appointment. The office manager could care less about the welfare of my daughter and could care less about us being placed with the wrong therapist as long as they were paid. I will make sure I contact the state of Alabama regarding the violation. Please be aware when you place gods gifts in the hands of this practice. While her therapist was great the office manager was horrible. We found a wonderful center in Gardendale pinpointed the issues we were having. Trinity speech has been amazing.

We have been going to Child's Play for about 6 months now for both OT with Anne and PT with Barbara. I love how caring and personal the therapists are. My son was 6 months old when we started and both of our therapists took the time to get to know us and our story before coming up with a treatment plan. There is no cookie cutter therapy going on there. Each child is an individual and my son's therapy has changed over and over as he has grown and reached goals. I love to see that they are genuinely happy to see him each week and greet him with a hug. This goes for the office staff as well. Everyone there speaks to us like we're family and goes out of their way to help. I'm so thankful to have found them!

This is a fantastic team of both occupational therapists and speech language pathologists. Anne sees my son now, and I have been repeatedly impressed by her professionalism and knowledge. He has come so far since he started here. The waiting room is full each time we go to his appointment, which is a testimony to the quality of service at Child's Play. If you are on a waiting list, be patient; it is worth the wait.

Child's play has made a huge difference in our life. I can't say enough positive things about them. My little boy age 4, has ADHD. It is amazing to see the difference in him since we began the focal point program! Child's play has been a true blessing to us. Thank you very much!

My daughter M has been going to Childs Play for months and has made leaps and bounds in her speech! Her confidence level has soared through the roof because of CPTC, she is a little chatter box now!! She loves her therapist Alyson who relates to her love of Disney Princesses in her therapy! I've been very pleased with CPTC, friendly office staff and therapists, they are conveniently located in Hoover, wifi available so I can sit and work while M is in therapy - I have the option of going back with her but she loves going back by herself! Highly Highly Recommend CPTC!!

We have had the BEST experience with Child's Play Therapy Center. My daughter has Sensory Processing Disorder and ADHD and our therapist, Kelly, has made a huge difference in her life and our lives. I will absolutely recommend them to any and all. I drive from Montgomery every week and would do it for the rest of our lives if I had to. GREAT GREAT GREAT!!!!!!!

Child's Play Therapy Center has been a wonderful fit for our 5 year old son. He has been going there for OT/handwriting for several months, and we have seen such a huge improvement. The handwriting without tears program is fantastic. We are so blessed to have Anne Guadarrama as our OT. She is the BEST!! Our son looks forward to seeing her every week! I would highly recommend Child's Play to anyone.

I cannot say enough great things about our experience at Child's Play. We have been taking our son there for about 4 months now, and have seen tremendous improvement in him. He sees Allyson for speech therapy and Anne for Occupational Therapy. Allyson and Anne both show a genuine concern for my child. I do not feel like we are just another number at Child's Play. My son matters and my concerns matter. Thank you just doesn't say enough! Keep up the great work!!!

Great facility and staff! Our daughters enjoy their summer camps!

Melinda Cargile

We were clients at the Huntsville, AL location. We had a five-star experience within the limits of a four-star facility. Our child received services for handwriting and sensory processing disorder. The staff - from reception, therapist, owner/case manager, to the insurance/billing was everything we needed and more than we expected. They were kind, generous with their time and effort, and they went above and beyond for my child, even emailing on weekends to help us troubleshoot behaviors/problems at school and home. The facility is very modest in Huntsville. Our needs required that we change to a facility with a gym and larger-scale activities. We hated to change, because we loved the people so much. This was the best place for us to begin our journey with occupational therapy.

My 3 year old had his first visit with Brooke for feeding concerns this morning. She was so incredibly patient with my super picky toddler and gave me several fun things to work on before our next appointment. We had a great experience from beginning to end and look forward to our next visit!

My son has been going to Childs Play for Speech 4 years and OT for 3 years. These incredible therapist have helped my son become more confident, reach incredible goals that are to many to name and even helped us as parents when we had questions about our sons challenges. We are forever grateful!!!!

I have used Child's Play Therapy Center for about 8 years. My oldest son started with handwriting/occupational therapy. The "handwriting without tears" program was a perfect fit for him! There really were no tears! We went back a few years later to help master cursive writing. Again, the program was excellent and my son did very well. Then, I found out about ILS, Integrated Listening Systems. This was a game changer for my son, who has ADD (attention deficit disorder). It is a fascinating program! It helps bombard all the sensory systems all at once and helps with focus, balance, among a ton of other things. His concentration was better which helped him with his homework. I have enjoyed going to Child's Play Therapy Center all these years. They are very professional, friendly, and have the best programs for children. Mrs. Bailey has been a life saver for us! She has helped build self esteem and confidence while teaching these methods to my son. I have seen kids cry because it was time to go home!

The entire staff at Child'sPlay Therapy Center are caring people who genuinely want the best for all of the children they see. The facility is amazing and definitely designed for kids with bright colors and fun all around.
