REVIEWS OF Psychiatric Services SC IN Wisconsin

Jeff G

Excellent clinicians who care and go the extra mile for their clients. I highly recommend to all those in the Madison area who need mental health services. Dr. Ken Herrmann, Dr. McMurray, and Dr. Hodulik are excellent at minimizing the number of medications given and consider the patient as a whole. Meaning... if therapy or a change in lifestyle (Diet, supplement, etc) would be beneficial, they encourage said course of action. Compassionate people.

Im having the same problems with billing that others are having. I would never recommend PSSC to anyone at this point. I canceled an appointment 2 days in advance and am being charged $150. First they said I didn't cancel, but I had phone records. Then they said I did cancel, but not enough in advance. Their policy was 24 hours. Again, I referred to the phone records showing 2 days in advance. Then they said I did cancel far enough in advance, but since my original appointment had been rescheduled I would be charged for the canceled appointment. The original appointment had been rescheduled by the psychiatrist! The psychiatrist is constantly rescheduling. That makes it even more ridiculous. The psychiatrist can constantly reschedule, but I cancel two days in advance because my child is extremely ill and Im charged $150! I was told canceling was okay as long as it was 24 hours in advance, but apparently any fees are up to their discretion. I will NEVER go there again and I would not recommend anyone else go there either.

Called as a new patient seeking a new therapist. A woman called back and curtly told me they aren't accepting new patients and that no one accepts my health insurance provider ( United healthcare ). Didn't ask if I'd like to be put on a waiting list, or if I could pay for services out of pocket ( which I can ) . Seemed like I was an inconvenience at best and an idiot at worst as far as she was concerned. No wonder few people actively seek out mental health services.

Had wonderful experiences with LSCW K. Esbensen. She is a wonderful woman whose words of confidence I will remember for a long time. The couple times that I had saw her, she was pleasant and kind. Helped me a lot. I would recommend her to anyone with Anxiety and Depression. Through no fault of her own, I had missed some appointments and been charged. Payed and I understood completely. Almost a year later I had an unfortunate thing happened to me and was hoping to see her again. When I called to make an appointment, I was told I was canceled from her service and can never have her as a therapist. Disappointed, but understandable as I did not show up. How can you run a business if your patients don't show up? Ya can't; but I wished I would have gotten a letter or a warning. This is a possibility with Psychiatric Services, and some should know.

My counselor is amazing and I have never had any issues with billing as mentioned in other reviews. Reception and billing are always timely and helpful.

Amy Miller is the WORST healthcare professional I have ever seen in my life. DO NOT GO THERE. I went to see her about a month and a half ago and she switched my medication that my primary care doctor prescribed for anxiety and depression. My first refill was for 15 days with no refills. Second refill for 15 days NO REFILLS. A total of 6 weeks later she REFUSED to refill my meds because I can’t make a follow up appointment right now due to a family emergency situation going on and I physically cannot come in right now. But she was quick to tell me I can pay her $80 for a FIVE MINUTE phone call or $150 for ten minutes to get my meds but that my insurance won’t cover that. I told her I would have to go off these meds cold turkey then and was VERY upset on the phone and hung up for fear of being charged $80 for 5 minutes. She never called back, didn’t bother to check on me and because of her I am going through SEVERE withdraws off SNRI meds which I was never informed of the dangers of stopping it cold turkey! The least she could have done was taper me off if she wasn’t going to refill them. Absolutely pathetic. All she cares about is MONEY not the patients wellbeing. RUN AND DONT COME BACK!
