Told me that my insurance couldn't be processed and that I'd have to pay out of pocket. Called Aurora and my insurance went right through. Never going to Bellin again. The receptionists lack customer service skills and have garbage attitudes.

Jonny Murray

Horrible. The phsych nurses use their judgement on when my dr should see my requests. Totally illegal and violates My rights. Going on for years. Considering a lawsuit . Phsych nurses at this location over step their boundries (legal) . made them aware many times they dont care and refuse to stop

They saved my life. It didn't happen immediately but overall with a positive attitude, being open minded, medication or not, you will get the best care. Today many people have the ability to receive medication (because it was never before an option) to help the mind. I suffer dysthymia (form of depression). I have to take medication (prozac) because the firing of neurons in my brain were too slow, therefore causing me to feel listless, that everyone was out to get me, no one liked me, I was ugly, nothing interested me, I couldn't do anything right, didn't want to get out of bed, irritated all the time and saying all the wrong things but I was functioning. I was doing everything I was supposed to do to live but that was just it, I was a robot. Medication to me is very important because I like to say it "buys me time" to think before I speak, keeps me from getting so irritated, I have a will to live, and I can enjoy projects and doing things. Depression is not that you are sad all the time (although it is a part) of the many other feelings that surround your everyday living. Before you judge medication you need to give it a whirl for a long period of time such as a year because you may need to switch meds to find the right one that works for you. For me it is a life long project, like brushing your teeth, it must be of the utmost importance or you will not get the most out of your treatment. Happy thoughts, Ami

If i could rate lower I would. They will lie to your face without any remorse. Information that they give out in pamphlets is very incorrect as well.

Waited over an hour to get my 11 year old son help because he was threatening to kill his little sisters in their sleep. Was told sorry since they only had one nurse on staff. Thank you for the help.

If considering for AODA/driver's safety plan, turn and run the other way. Since I previously attended NWTC education for an OWI they said they were ruling out out individual counseling as an option (they referred to individual counseling as also "education" and said it wouldn't be an option because I've already had "education") and recommended intensive outpatient group therapy. Group consists of 3x weekly meetings for 3 hours per session for 6 weeks, then 3 months of weekly 2 hour follow up visits. Not to mention there was a one month waiting list before they would even begin pickpocketing you of 78 hours of your time and money. They said they felt I would benefit more from a group setting which is exactly what NWTC education is whereas in reality a 1x1 environment with a counselor would be the next logical step. Their recommendation was backed by smoke and mirrors and malicious at best. It made no sense and I have zero motive to misrepresent my experience here. The individual who did my evaluation seemed uninterested in what I had to say, monotonous and robotic as she went through the questions on her worksheet. I work with people for a living and it was clear her recommendation was already decided well before the evaluation ended. I will note in advance that I'm not buying any type of "everybody is individually assessed and given a recommendation that fits their situation" response to this review. And what would contacting your grievance department accomplish? I doubt my insurance would receive a refund for the cost of my visit. Regardless I'll be sharing this experience with my insurance company in the event they feel the need to look into Bellin's practices. What's their motive? Probably the money they would rake in for group therapy (much more than individual counseling with fewer staffing requirements), whether you or your insurance are the one paying. After hearing their recommendation I changed providers (away from Bellin) and was recommended individual counseling (not a 78 hour obligation) which allows me the time and flexibility for work, family, or even to care for a pet after a normal workday and I feel I will benefit from it greatly. My new provider also treated me like a human being during my initial visit. I post this at risk of judgement by others for the situation I placed myself in, but I would not have submitted this review if I felt I were given an objective assessment. Very disappointing and very alarming that this is what you can expect with Bellin as your provider. I'm not just trying to torpedo Bellin with a poor review. I truly don't see why similar practices (the most profitable for Bellin) wouldn't take place when individuals seek other, voluntary services here as well. I've also since changed my primary care physician away from Bellin and will share my experience with others.

My doctor sent in a referral to the psychiatric center, they called me over a week later to tell me they declined my referral because they weren't taking any new members in. How the hell does a psych center have the right to decline people whom reach out to get help for their disorder?! These people are part of the reason why self harm is so common. DO NOT GO HERE

Stay Away From This Place. All These Reviews Are 100% The Place Is Horrible. The Way They Operate And Twiddle Their Thumbs Is Flat Out Rediculous! This Place Will Leave A Bad Taste In Your Mouth. Very Shameful.

Kari Mahlik, APNP is EXTREMELY unprofessional and she lacks any decorum of a bedside manner. Acts like she is stuck back in high school throwing her tantrums when you no longer want to see her because of her inexperience and lack of professionalism. I strongly suggest to avoid her all together as she is a disaster of a "professional". She will do nothing but belittle you as well as order testing that you do not agree with. I have watched her belittle someone very close to me and her as a medical professional, she needs a wake up call. Just beware. Run away. Fast.

Only issue I have had us that I have been through 4 therapist since uve been with Bellin. Everytime I get comfortable they leave or move into another position. the one I have now I like so far and ahead says she will stick around. crossing my fingers. hard to keep reliving stuff. also my pdoc went in maternity leave and I had a crisis and didn't even know she was expecting. fair warning would have been nice but she apologized and she is otherwise been amazing. BTW this is my 2nd pdoc

Recent stay was discharged in 4 days, before i was ready. Readmitted to another facility about a week later..

Kris VanderMuss

Nurses were very nice and understanding.

Mary Heimann

The physical facility is great. The general nursing staff was awesome. The social worker was wonderful and compassionate. The nurse practitioner that was in charge of the case was cold, hard, disrespectful, unhelpful, and made the whole experience a nightmare. The right hand did not know what the left hand was doing. Referrals were made by staff and those referrals were rejected by the departments because they were not made by the proper authority. I would not recommend this center.

Appointments are impossible to get. Had to wait months to see the one child psychologist they have available. Schedulers are often too busy to pay attention to being correct with dates. Billing is brutal. Update: Called the grievance number. They take your report. Nothing happens. Still have to wait months... literally three to four months...to get an appointment. Even after emergency room visits and scary new symptoms. The child's well-being doesn't seem to be the priority. Hire more providers. We pay enough for them. We are seeing a mental health epidemic among are adolescent population and nothing is being done.

Darvin Rickling

My wife had some amazing nurses during her stay. They kept her in until she felt safe again. A special thank you to Stacey!!!!! But please do something about those beds; my wife had nothing but back problems due to them as she already has a bad back.

Our experience at Bellin Psychiatric Center: Bellin Health Psychiatric Center in patient facility has wonderful caring RN's, LPN's and CNA's however it is a PILL MILL & does not offer any psychiatric in patient counseling while you are a patient there!!! That's right, a psych hospital with no counseling but you WILL receive a LOT, and I do mean a LOT of medication, psychotropic of course. Upon discharge, if you can't afford the 'new medication' you will still have it ordered for you. Even if the medication didn't work for you, you will still have it ordered for you! Even if you don't want the medication, you will still have it ordered for you! Some of the Psychiatrists are wonderful and some are awful, it's a crap shoot, luck of the draw. Enter this facility at your own risk and please, do yourself a favor, it might save your life, HAVE AN ADVOCATE AT YOUR SIDE AT ALL TIMES.
