My sister went here mutiple times not being able to hold down food or water with a history of severe gastrointestinal issues. They refused to do anything even after she was admitted twice alabd even after they found out her gallbladder was working at only 17% they sent her home like that. Out of desperation we took her to UPMC in Altoona they couldn't believe how negligent Conemaugh had been. She has been there since then and is finally getting the surgery she needs and the care she deserves.

This hospital is overall a great place! But as far as the labor and delivery staff its horrendous! I can not believe how racist they are and their accommodation to african american mothers with children when scheduled for a non stress test is unbelievable. If i ever receive that type of treatment i will find a lawyer to sue the pants off that place no matter how much i like it!!!! The older non African American staff should not speak as if they are back in slavery times. I love my doctor and all other staff black or white, but this one lady needs to be fired or given better training for 2019!!!!! Update: I have contacted by patient relations and have hopes they can get something resolved because i have no choice but to bring my babies to my appointments on some days and if this is a problem i will be consulting with a lawyer for future issues. I have to being my babies if they have no school and seen a white lady accommodated with the same issue in the same department!

Hands down better than most recent experiences I've had at my local hospitals! Very smooth process for out patient procedure. Knowledgeable staff & extremely thorough. Woud definitely return here for care!

Love the way they treat they're clients and it's not a long wait like Temple University.

We came to have our baby and almost all of the nurses were just rude and when we would ask a question, they would answer us like we should already know the answer, or like it was to much for them to answer us. Even to ask for a pillow, the nurse acted like we were idiots and didn't look in the room for 1 before asking them. God forbid she might have to get up and do something besides staring into the nursery all night. Listen, if you have another option, like having your baby in the woods, definitely explore that option first before coming to this hospital's Maternity Ward.

Very very disappointed with way my girlfriend was treated there. They are the most ignorant people I've ever meet during a hospital visit. Not only did they miss diagnose my girlfriend, they made fun of how she sounded for crying out in pain, they were all snippy with everyone there, and refused to get her the right meds to help with pain. They told her it was pretty much nothing wrong that they were gonna send her home to manage the pain with Tylenol and ibuprofen. We get to Pittsburgh and she ended up in emergency surgery after being told it was nothing to be concerned about. Will never go there again and definitely would not recommend anyone in serious pain go there.

I have severe heart problems went to ER via ambulance, after hours of let's see what to do next I pushed nurse call button. 40 MINUTES LATER A NURSE POKED HER HEAD IN TO SEE WHAT I NEEDED. Go to a Veterinarian you'll get better care I'm sure.

Worst ER EVER!!!! Three hours, with no one in waiting room. Got blood drawn as soon as walked in so thought it would be quick. After that got sent to waiting room, than called back for paper work, then sent to waiting room. Then called back to room and got told oops wrong person. This place is ridiculous.

john bixler

Excellent supportive staff

The valet driver for goodsam thomas Peters was extremely rude we didn't know we couldn't park in the circle and he acted like we ruined his day over it. I don't feel like my family should have been treated that way

Becky Beegle

The most annoying labor and delivery ever. I just had my third child there and I was treated as if she was my first. Way too many testing aside from the necessary ones like her sugar and iron levels. I wasnt asked if they could take her out of the room for testing, they just took her and said she'll be right back. Im not one for writing reviews but the maternity ward was hell. The only reason I'm giving more than one star is for the nurse Annette. She was amazing and was like a mom.

Tammeria Mennecke

This place was AWFUL! The nurses are rude and completely not helpful!! After having a c-section, I asked if they would be able to take the baby to the nursery while I slept after having been up for well over 24 hours and being on pain medication, I was worried that I would fall asleep with the baby. I was told by the nurse that they couldn’t do that and it was my responsibility to take care of my baby. She was incredibly rude and made it seem as though I just didn’t want to take care of my son which couldn’t have been further from the truth! If I were to have another baby, I would make the trip to another hospital. I would have been better to check out early and actually have a support system at home during my recovery.

Over 4 hour wait for a 4 year old child with difficult breathing to be seen. Not safe at all. Healthcare has really gone down hill.

I recently had same day surgery and was completely satisfied with the service, proffessionalism, comfort, and dignity. From the greeting of the receptionist, the ASU contact nurses, transport, PACU nurses, anesthesia, OR nurses, PAs and my surgeon, I received the best care I could have asked for. The golden rule was applied to me to the fullest. I want to thank all that I mentioned for their caring and human touch. I would highly recommend the same day surgery services to my family and anyone else. They were all truely awsome!

I ended up at CMMC's ER on a Sunday afternoon. Their ER was the dirtiest ER I have ever been in in my life. There was also a man coming in and out of the waiting room (that apparently worked there) that had lost some money. He stank of BO and alcohol and was acting erratic. At any rate, he obviously felt comfortable cursing and talking loudly about his problems over the waiting room phone. My wait also lasted OVER three hours. HOWEVER, this was not the worst thing. The worst thing was the fact that I heard the Dr. order an IV and draw blood. The nurse did a good first stick, but then removed the IV even after I had asked if she wasn't supposed to leave it in! Then I was returned to the waiting room minus the ordered IV. Three or so hours later, they finally took me back. After repeated FAILED attempts to start another IV on me (three to be exact) I refused to be stuck again. I informed the nurse that I was fully able to drink fluids, and that I had had nothing to drink for more than six hours. I informed her that they were having trouble because I was VERY dehydrated. The nurse went out and told the Dr. that I was "refusing the IV." After that I was treated like I had the plague by the nursing staff. I was "brought" a very small cup of water [without ice], and the cup was placed on a table across the room from my bed. (I was hooked to monitors and couldn't get out of bed to get it!) Then the nurse quickly left and did NOT return. While at CMMC the doctor treated me with kindness and respect. He even understood why I had finally refused the IV -- specifically using the word "pincushion!" I was also properly diagnosed. Five stars for the doctor! I returned to CMMC to have blood work done, so I have edited my review. Nurse Sara in the Lab was both kind and professional. She also got my vain on the first try and drew 17 vials of blood without any re-sticks. Awesome!!! Also, after she was done, she gave me a cold juice, a snack, and a $2.00 voucher for the coffee shop to use before I left. It's those little things that make a person feel respected and cared for.

My Step daughter was one of the victims in the Indiana,Pa. Shootings during the Iupaddy's party weekend at IUP university. The staff at Conemaugh were above and beyond excellent they were kind living and caring for all of our needs as well as our daughter's. Our ICU nurses Kim and Ron were great!

Maureen Caddy

Currently waiting for lab results on a child its been 5 hours! This is the slowest ER ever!! Ridiculous!!

Conemaugh Memorial Hospital.. sad tragedy. The nastiest hospital I've ever seen. I wish I could post a picture of the filthy floors, urine smelly bathroom for patients. Trash filled patient room and they dont change patient bedding. Even the elevator doors are gross. Did I add they have No Hot Water in patient bathrooms. I plan on contacting the health department. Now onto the nursing staff..unprofessional and a total disgrace to real medical professionals. If I could give negative 50 stars I would. One star is way to good for this place. Thanks!

Anthony Fortunato

They can't ever find what's wrong with people and always misdiagnoseing people. It's always a cover up after a cover up. I can go on and on about this place but it took to much of my time to say what I did already.

Katlyn B

Poor excuse for a hospital. I'm not an employee, however, I know many people personally that have worked here for years. Wonderful workers, don't call off, show up on time and are being canned by upper management for poor excuses, so they can "save money" and hire people off the streets and pay less. Don't apply here and work hoping to make it a career. After years and years of working your tail off and earning a higher wage, they will fire you in a heartbeat and replace you with someone less experienced. People wonder why this hospital is going to the ground.

Service was good the staff and doctors did a great job but them beds???? Iwas1st given a bed that soundedlikea747 taxing around an airport. It was some kind of airbag mattress design to keep a patient from getting bed soars when I was there for 3 days. I come out of 3hr surgery to that kind of bed and expected to get a good night rest. I complain and they give me a bed that keeps rising and lowering all night but a little more quiet.

The third shift ER deskstaff fall asleep while you're speaking to them, literally! They ask the same question numerous times because they nodded off the first time you replied. The third shift nurses in the back were worse. From 3-7am, they say in the middle of the floor area and gossips, bashed and cursed. For hours, they were loud and rude. There was urine in a cup from 4am to 8am when I told daylight it was still there. Daylight shift is even better! They have no empathy or bedside manners. The female Dr spoke to me with immediate "I'm better than you" attitude and it didn't get much better because I challenged her professionalism. She failed. They speak to you with a very in your face approach rather than a caring one. I don't know who's teaching, training, even RAISING these people, but they need to figure another approach out. HORRIBLE. AND NOT THE FIRST TIME. ALTOONA IS WORTH an extra few mins.

They hardly get a one star rating from me. I don't even know where to begin -- From the lack of professionalism from the doctors/interns, to the overflow of patients and hold times, to the limited options the doctor presents to you as a patient because they are more concerned with what insurance you have to the care of your health and needs. If you have transportation and the option to go elsewhere, do it.

Worst hospital, ever! They've had my dad 76 year old dad waiting for gallbladder surgery for two days now and who knows if he'll get it done today...they sure don't. And to top it off, they put a man in my elderly dad's room with an open infection. They are a smart bunch, obviously.

Fairly good Doctors , the main Hospital has a very good cafe on the 3rd. Floor & a small coffee shop on the 1st. Floor

My girlfriend is in labor and delivery, she was here last week for preterm labor and she's back again because she is having pains again and contractions the staff here have not done a dilation check and are completely incompetent about the symptoms of pregnancy

I don't normally write reviews however my 13 year old son came to this hospital for a broken arm due to a skiing accident. He received to notch care. The staff was wonderful, the Doctors were awesome and he was never afraid the whole time he was in the hospital. We were there for 2 days and I could not have been happier with the level of service from this hospital

Was flow.n to Conemaugh traum la center via mee-evac. Dr. Nathanial and his cath lab team saved my life. The nursing staff. Physical therapists and other support crews were outstanding in terms of caring, professionalism and moral support.

worst hospital! wait time is so long it's not funny I waited 7 hours in there one time then 5 the next time! I would recommend going to windber but even they have their issues!!

Rick Dzi

The er when not busy is fine but there are times of 12+ hour waits when busy. Very understaffed and continued issues of the spreading of infections. The operating and er rooms can be very dirty with trash over the floors.

Katey Eisenhour

Terrible, no communication, lack of empathy, they do not listen to their patients or the patients family. This hospital needs some help and some caring training. My family member suffered for four days with out proper care and there where at least two other patients suffering with out proper care. Very sad story.

Everything was great here when I had my son. My Dr. Was Dr. Khouzami and he is amazing and compassionate! My husband I have been through a lot on the journey to our son, and he was the best we could have asked for. However I now have Medicaid insurance and instead of me being directed to MY DOCTOR, I was transferred to the womens center, to a mid wife that knows nothing about me or my situation and basically they told me I was stupid. Not to mention this person has never saw me, she knows nothing of my history, or the fact there are special medical needs that I have!!!!!! I will never go back here or talk to this place again!!! All because my insurance makes me not good enough to talk to my own doctor!!!

pat elias

This place needs to get real doctors!! All you get to see is physician assistants. I took my daughter to be seen because she was and still is having pain in her right side. I was told there is nothing wrong with her because her blood work came back OK. I asked if they could please do an ultrasound to reassure everything was fine. They told me no and that she'll be ok . If anything serous she wouldn't just die that she would have time to call someone for help. Who the heck says that to a mom who is worried about something happening to her child? As I stated earlier in this review my daughter is still having pain and is afraid to go back only to be told they still can't do anything for her. We rely on these people to helps us but all they do is guess or do nothing.

Wendy Morgan

Dr.Zagorski was nice but his nursing staff at his office need to practice better hand hygiene habbits. The nurse who packed my husbands cyst did not use gloves-when i mentioned (hint) how brave she was for not wearing gloves while working with blood she just said she has been "doing it for years." Later when i asked to file a grievence. I met "Peggy" who had the nerve to ask, "well did she touch any of the equipment." ARE YOU KIDDING ME- SHE WAS PACKING A CYST THAT WAS ACTIVELY BLEEDING. PPE PEOPLE! I bet if the state was there she would have worn them.

I would not recommend anyone come to this hospital. Especially if you don't have health insurance. You're billing office is garbage as well. Your billing office said "I made a choice to come here" I didn't wake up one day and think "I would love to go to the ER without health insurance." I went to the ER because I was in severe pain. Also thank you for the $14,000 bill for two hours of work and a saline bag, while being sent home because no GI doctor was on staff at the time. I hope this dumpster fire of a hospital finds better people or management. I would not recommend it to anyone.

Nic De

One star is wayyy too generous. Today, there was a woman sitting in the "emergency" department with blood clots and they left her sit in pain with NO treatment for at least 4.5 hours. They KNOWINGLY left her sit there without treatment. This happened to me previously, but that's not my reason for today's review. I sat in the "emergency" department after being brought in by ambulance. I left after being there for 3.5 hours. The one nurse had to ask another nurse how many people there were ahead of me, and they both looked at the same screen!! This place is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!! Unless you feel like camping out and have no plans, take the drive and GO TO WINDBER!! I HATE THIS HOSPITAL!!

Roger Elkin

Christine Stantz

I had to wait for 4 1/2 hours in the emergency room before my husband bitched.

My friends child died there due to gross negligence!

As someone who just dealt with his mother having a heart attack, I can say this hospital did wonderfully. I would have say that (as is with most hospitals) it depends on what reason you came for. If you're the one whom needs care from the ER. 1

Debra Mckenzie

My Mother was told she would be release in the morning. I had to ask the nurse why it is 2:00 pm and she is still not released. Doctor did not review her records. Even though he seen here at 10am. I feel this facility is very disrespectful to patient and family members that have jobs. We love are family member and want to be there for them. But if I knew that she would not be discharged until 3 or 4 I could gone to work.
