I've found Dr. Kane to be friendly and professional.

Hey It's Me

When you go to a place like this and see a doctor like Dr. Kane, you are seeking help, for issues likely negatively affecting your life. My problem was a failure to be able to sleep, for days and days I just was getting more and more rundown. This doctor, his hands are tied and he really can't even practice medicine from what I witnessed. If you are taking any kind of medicine to manage chronic pain, go somewhere other than Augusta Health because you will get the excuse he "can't prescribe sleep medicine nor anxiety medicine" when also in pain. I think he knows how ridiculous that is as a "blanket approach" to treat patients that way, but it isn't affecting his life quality in any way shape or form so he practices in that manner. I sought out a practice that treats me as an individual who has unique medical needs and as someone who deserves dignity and respect in receiving healthcare. I sleep now.

I called to make a first appointment this morning. Comprehensive Behavioral Health was recommended by my Primary Care doctor. I had some questions about the services available. One of the things that did not sit well with me is that appointments last about 20 minutes. This did not seem right to me. So I asked around about Comprehensive Behavioral Health. The people I talked to were friends and other medical professionals. Comprehensive Behavioral Health is more for managing medication then actual counseling. I am not looking to be put on medication until I know i really need it and have exhausted all other options. At this point I have not been diagnosed with any mental health illnesses. I feel I need a diagnoses before someone tosses drugs my way. I am not opposed to drugs if I actually need them. So I decided that Comprehensive Behavioral Health is not the right place for me at this time. I called to cancel the appointment I made. Mind you the appointment is a few weeks away and I made the appointment less then 12 hours ago! I first talked to someone named "Madison" to cancel my appointment. I explained why I was canceling. She did not even ask me my name birth date or date of the appointment but said she would cancel it. Then hung up on me! How did she know who's appointment to cancel? And there is a thing called HIPPA where I have to identify myself with information before before any changes can be made. None of that information was gathered! I called back because I wanted to verify my appointment was indeed canceled. Some medical offices will charge you for missed appointments. The next person I talked to only took my name and I expressed that i was upset with how my first phone call was handled. I also told her that I would be talking to my PCP and let her know I was not at all satisfied with the lack of professionalism I experienced thus far. She then told me that it was not fair to judge everyone in the office because of one persons actions. I told her it was against HIPPA a federal law to be so lackadaisical with my medical information! So beware anyone can call and make changes to your appointments at Comprehensive Behavioral Health. I will find a different more trust worthy mental health provider.

My husband had a gap in care thru the VA. They filled that gap and kept him chemically balanced. We recommend them frequently to the veterans we know and other families.

Very convenient! always fit me in whenever i need them!

They can be nice to talk to. Staff is ok. Problem is, they lie about their policies. They tell you they are mandated to drug test. Yet they are the only local office that does. So if they are mandated, it is becauwe of something THEY did wrong. And you have to pay for their mistake, $25 per drug test. Looking elsewhere.

Doctor Kane, Why Did You Send Me From Your Office To The ER? Isn't Augusta Health Reworking The ER Plan? This Is Malpractice! After fighting with my mental health problems for a while with no relief I'm about to give up on you. I am a WAR VETERAN with ptsd and you created a bias about me when I uttered those words. I know that people use the system to their advantage but this has to stop. I am struggling with adhd, depression, and anxiety and the first thing you tell me is go to the psychiatrist ER for help. I have had adhd my whole life and the points I told you are on the dot. So now I have enormous bills from the emergency room just to get help with my adhd because you would not help. I had to call the nurse manager and the director of staff today to explain my situation. I have to bring my own parents to a appointment if I have my last one with you because you put a stigma on me. This is unacceptable care and is against every code of conduct for a doctor. I am a human being that needs help, and you would not even meet me a inch of the way. If things don't change I am done.

I am so grateful to all these wonderful people at CHS. Crystal and Tyler...the very best in customer/patient care and genuinely kind! Dr. Kane gave me hope with words like, "We're going to get you feeling better!" Music to a mother's ears and just what my daughter needed to hear when she was at her lowest! Dr. Havener was of great help in making the final medication tweak that hit the jackpot! I highly recommend the "cheek swipe" for anyone who doesn't respond to "the usual" meds...it was a lifesaver! The DBT Therapy that my daughter was reluctant to participate in has changed her life forever...in the most positive way! And these are just a few reasons why I love this practice! You all rock!

I had the misfortune of finding this place after promising local reviews. After about a year of being a patient here, I cannot recommend their services to anyone who is trying to get better. My therapist was Pamela Hevener. She was rude, dismissive, and unhelpful. I was given a surprise drug test before one appointment to prove that I was taking my medication. I understand regulations, I do not understand making your patient take an expensive test under accusation of dishonesty. I paid $80 for five minutes of her time to fill out a five question worksheet. She asked no questions about the quality or condition of my life at any point because it's not on the sheet. I urge anybody seeking competent, supportive care to avoid comprehensive behavioral health. I spent hundreds of dollars out pocket for terrible medical advice from rude people. Sick people deserve better than this. Edited for response: I did not feel my medical needs were met because my medical needs were not met. I was prescribed Cymbalta and never told about Cymbalta withdrawal syndrome, something that shows up in 80% of patients according to the FDA. I hope no patent ever has to deal with what I dealt with due to your lack of professionalism and concern for struggling people. Forcing patients to forego care because of surprise expenses is not acceptable. If you did care about patient welfare, this awful policy would never be considered. As far as your compliance with DEA regulations, this does not explain why I was told by staff that the reason for my surprise $100 out of pocket drug test was to make sure that I was taking my medicine. (the first drug test I was offered cost over $1000) There were no insurance regulations to be considered because I paid for everything, except your drug test shakedown. I am not your employee nor on state assistance. I hope this policy is under review because accusing patients of dishonesty is actually counter productive. The fact that this has to be explained to a clinic intending to help people is very disappointing. I hope this brief interaction demonstrates to people the dismissive, tone deaf, and unhelpful experiences I had with comprehensive behavioral health. I wish I wasn't forced to leave one star.

Helped me with my depression and anxiety. I did TMS therapy and it was a success!

A friend recommended this practice since I was having anxiety issues and her family had had a good experience here. While I trust my friend, this is a perfect example of difference in opinions. I'm not a mean person and don't tend to point out others flaws, but when your job is to help others with depression and anxiety, I feel it is important to get constructive criticism if you suck at your job. Pamela Hevener was the worst possible person to help with my anxiety. She made me feel 1000 times more anxious. I never ONCE got a hello from her at my appointments. She would be typing at her computer when I was led into her room by an assistant (whom also didnt greet me other than calling out my name). PamelaPamela wo even look up from the computer for 1-2 minutes when I first sat down. It was awkward and uncomfortable silence. She never said bye or have a good day either. She would just say we will see how that does (my Zoloft medicine) in a few weeks. My opinion is she should NOT be working with people. At one visit I shared that one of my biggest contributions to my anxiety issues was feeling that at my job I did not have enough time with my patients to adequately take care of them. She asked how long I got and when I said an hour she literally laughed out loud and said that her other patients that were in the same line of work as me usually got 45 minutes and that should not stress me. Okay well I'm sure they probably have assistants to help start and finish the patients like many offices do, but mine does not so all is completed by me. But the pure fact that she laughed out loud at my opening up about my anxiety was the most unprofessional thing ever. Also every 3rd word would be "ummm" like she had no idea what to say or was very unconfident. Needless to say, I will never ever recommend her to anyone and if anyone ever asks about her I will tell them to not waste their money because a random person on the street would probably be better at listening and have better recommendations. I might give this practice a 0 star if possible, but I haven't met all the employees so there might be a couple good ones there.... Just none that I met.

Feels like family! Staff knows my name and always greets me with a smile. I have seen Pam Hevener for 4 years and in a pinch have seen Dr. Kane and Tina. Pam is amazing and very Knowledgeable. You won't find more caring and compassionate group of people. They care about the community!

Amy

The person I seen today was awful. I feel lost after my doctor quit and I never got notice from this office. Today I was put with this terrible woman. I hope nobody else has to endure the same kind of appointment I had with her. After 15 years looks like I may have to kind a new place to go. Nobody goes to a Dr to feel worse.

Whitley Coffman

I called to figure out why my prescription wouldn’t fill at the pharmacy which last my about 5 months for the 3 I get just to be told my provider left the practice. Why are patients not notified when they dr leaves? Then I asked to have my medication prescription sent the the pharmacy because it is a medicine that should not be stopped cold turkey and I will be out in a few days. Just to be told I cannot he seen for weeks! My last appt was canceled from the office and have not been able to reschedule because I have to take off months in advance. This place is a joke!! To stop a patients scheduled medication that is a controlled substance that can cause withdraws without is very unsafe! I pray for all the other patients that you guys are screwing over! Hopefully no one has a full mental break from you guys forcing them off of their medication because of your lack of professionalism to let them know their dr is gone!

I drive an 1hr and half for my visits..They treat me and my kids like family. My doctor takes time to listen to my concerns and is fast to act with any issues I have with my meds. The entire staff is friendly and makes you feel at ease even through some not-so-easy days.

I found Dr. Kane to be helpful while I was at Wilson Workforce and Rehabilitation Center. I needed some medication management while I was at WWRC because my Community Service Board wasn't going to provide me 9-12 months worth of medications so I went through Paige Allison to get an appointment with Dr. Pamela Easterbrook for Behavioral Health. Dr. Kane and Dr. Easterbrook got me where I am now.

Dr. Kane has been one of the successors in helping to treat my anxiety disorder and also bipolar. I would totally recommend him to anyone seeking treatment for these issues. The staff is alright. The doctors office is overall clean. 4/5 stars!
