I have been seeing Dr. M Patel and a couple of his PA. I'm very grateful to them. Not only have they treated me for my depression but my drug addiction as well. There have been times where I haven't agreed with my treatment but they did what's best for me. I'm stable in my life and thankful to them.

Leigh Leffel

Dr Patel is so condescending and is more busy trying to talk over you and trip you up on your words than he is treating you. Don't like him but molly is nice at least if you do go there you'll only see Dr once ev 3 months

I’ve been coming to The Center about a year and a half now. Everyone has always been nice. No bad experiences at all. Once I had a billing concern. It was fixed promptly without question. The lab tech is very skilled. She has always drawn my blood on the first stick and her technique is virtually painless. If I could change something it would be the high turnover of the PAs. I’ve had 3 now and it’s frustrating to have to start over and over and over. But I still highly recommend this business for mental health care!

Very good place. Great staff

I'm a peach.

This places loves to take money from the sick. I was 5 minutes behind due to traffic/construction and was charged 50$. Asolutely disgusting behavior.

I have had several issues with this office. First, I originally was seeing a doctor that I shall not name because it wasnt technically her fault. I saw her twice and then the third time, I was told that she had fallen sick since my last visit and left the practice. They claimed they called and tried to leave a voicemail multiple times, but the only phone call I had received was 2 days before reminding me of my appointment with said doctor. I waited 2 and a half hours in their office to be seen by another woman. I saw that woman for 2 months and then was transferred to another doctor without my permission who disagreed with the last doctor and changed my meds. He told me that I dont have any issues because I can physically talk. He also said that medications can not make you feel ill. And he said there was absolutely nothing wrong with feeling numb and he wasnt worried about it. That doctor is H. Patel. I hardly understood most of what he says except he did say that I would be seeing the other doctor that he disagreed with again for a while and back to him and keep doing that. Finally, I found a new psychiatrist and called to tell them last week that I would not be needing their services anymore. The lady I spoke to was very rude after telling her that I'm not going to be seeing their doctors. Today, I just recieved a letter saying this is my last warning about a past due payment that they claim they have sent several letters about. I have not recieved any other letters for this bill, but they said they will not be allowing me to be seen and they archived my records. I'm not so worried about the last part of their letter since I already told them to close my records. I do NOT recommend this practice to anyone.

They had fixed an issue with a very rude woman at the front desk they have amazing staff now however my doctor. M. Patel has completely changed and completely treats me differently and is rude now that I have told him I I am gay.

Dr. H. Patel, my psychiatrist, and Molly Sharp, my P.A., are both great and have taken good care of me for years! The whole staff has always been good to me as well. Thanks!

This place is SOO bad - I am seriously considering writing all the family court judges for the County of Roanoke (obviously the source of most of their patients) to warn a referral to this practice will likely be perceived as punishment. My elderly, bi-polar parent is a patient of Dr. "H" Patel (as he is referred to by staff), and her experience here has no doubt been the worst we have experienced in the near 50-years she has been treated for psychiatric illness. The Dr. doesn't not return phone calls, has no concept of the need for emergency visits, and is too irresponsible to check his own schedule before refusing to refill a critically-needed medication (because of the need for a follow-up appointment that WAS ALREADY SCHEDULED)! Adding insult to injury, he recently refused to see the patient because she arrived 12 minutes late for an appointment - on a walker with a paid caregiver, no less - while he has NEVER seen the patient promptly as scheduled during the last 4 years (another review site lists the average wait time at 21 minutes). Psychiatric care is hard to come by and if not this practice would be out of business.

Dr. M. Patel and his P.A, Molly Sharp are good at what they do. They have always been professional, straight forward, and honest with me about my treatment. I do recommend them to anyone looking for psychiatric care.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PATHETIC EXCUSE FOR A CLINIC. If you wouldn't go to a 1 star restaurant, why would you go to a 1 star clinic for your psychological and neurological health? These people don't know how to handle their own files at all. The whole place is highly unprofessional. I could manage files better with an actual SQL database and I highly doubt they even have a feasible database since their computers are Windows XP computers. The "Healthcare" Providers are manipulative and money hungry probably because people are starting to see this place for what it is and leaving. I have ADHD, but these people were acting like I was a delinquent Teenager who just needed to figure out how to stop being stupid, but I could hardly be considered a delinquent, and the fact that watching videos on Youtube about ADHD and playing the game Duet helped me get through my struggles more than a "professional" I have to pay to see every month is moronic. When I left the clinic entirely, Molly Sharp tried to manipulate me in to thinking that the errors she made on writing my prescriptions were my father's fault (I had to go without medicine twice) and she tried to say that he was abusive right then and there. I tried to tell her she was full of it, and that her medicinal discrepancies were making me suffer since she wrote a prescription for 9 pills to be paid for the full price of 30, and she interrupted me and told me to shut up. She told me and my father to have a nice day but I made sure she knew that her tactics didn't work on me. I'm not a child anymore, so she can't manipulate me like that. She got an extra 25 bucks from us from that "visit", she probably did it on purpose because she knew we were gonna drop her.

Dr Patel and Ms Cook have been great and extremely competent for my care. Never wait long and they listen to my concerns.

I wouldn’t even give this place 1 star. Completely unprofessional. I have been going (unfortunately) for 4 yrs & haven’t had the same “psychiatrist” for more than a year because they can’t keep anyone employed there for very long. But that isn’t even the main issue. Not only do they demand that I be seen once a month, every time I show up, there is a new charge on my account. I have been on the same meds so I shouldn’t have to be seen every month, they just want my money. And if you are more than 5 minutes late you are charged $50. I was 6 minutes late one appt because I had two kids with me & got caught by a train. But of course they will keep you waiting for more than 30 minutes. Another time I called to reschedule an appt more than 48 hrs in advance & was charged $50 for a missed appt. Another time my kids were very sick and canceled an appt & got charged $50 for a late cancellation fee. I can not even tell how much money I have paid to that place. I have finally had it & will not be going back. So now I have the stress of finding a new doctor.

The people working in this place should be in prison by now. Dr. patel as he is know because nobody can say his last name and he simply refuses to learn English to help out is nothing more than a little A**. I never made it through the intake process as I watched the same counselor (a girl named molly) looser her prescription pad twice and blame it on the patients she is helping confuse. (they use electronic prescription refill and have no business running around with a prescription pad to begin with.) I got up, walked out, called the Salem police department about her and my belief that she was writing herself prescriptions trying to cover her own butt . falsely accusing patients. They told me that this was not the first time they had heard of this and not the first time that week they had heard that. I suggest you call the Salem police yourself before you think about talking with these people. I know for a fact I went there because I could have used a little help. Had that bunch even tried to of put me through that same mess they did their patients we would have really had a problem. Like I said call the Salem City Police Department before visiting this place to see how the whole prescription pad thing worked out before wasting your time. You might just end up in prison with them if you are not careful.

I do NOT recommend them. Only in it for the money. They Charge $50 for cancelling Appointments.. I had a flat tire and the charged me for rescheduling my Appt. Have hard time understanding what Dr. Patel says. When you can understand what he's saying he talks to you like your a idiot.

Dr. M. & Molly have been taking good care of me for years. I also saw a Nurse Practitioner around Christmas. Beverly is her name, I think. She was wonderful, too.

Stephanie Lynner

If you need some pills, this is the place to go. If you need actual psychiatric care, you might want to look elsewhere. Be prepared to get accused of making up problems - and this is coming from someone who WASN'T asking for medication.

I have been going here for a long time, finally got my meds where I could do a little something each day.. All of a sudden they cut my meds down and messed me up. Then I tried to get that one medicine faxed in they said no. They are very unprofessional. I had to find another doctor and get my family doctor get my meds that he said I can't do without... They are a big big mess!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't go there.

Unprofessional, untrained and down right awful. People considering going here are better off going to nrvcs in blacksburg.

Am retired and moved to Va. from New Jersey where I was seeing an excellent emotional care doctor. He was caring, sympathetic, spent time with me during my follow up visits, and when my problems were not being taken care of with the medication he prescribed, he would recommend something different. I miss him very much, and until I found another doctor he would refill my medications. Found the Center for Emotional Care. Was seen by the doctor I was assigned to, almost four years. The visits became shorter and shorter. Never tried any new medications nor any treatments. Found him to be cold and would actually "YAWN" as I would describe issues I was having due to me living in a new environment. Love Virginia, and am now here five years. On my last visit I ran into heavy traffic due to the city doing landscaping. Arrived five to ten minutes late and the girl at the desk told me I would not be seen because I was late. Explained the problem and she just didn't give a damn. Wouldn't allow me to see the doctor, but said I could come back at, four thirty. AT RUSH HOUR! I was angry and told them that that was no good they said I could see him the next day. Left the office and the next day saw the doctor, and had got there a half hour before my visit. Last visit now see a great doctor, with Lewis Gale.

I've been coming here for a long time now and because of them and God I have completely changed my life around. I have been clean for almost 4 years now and It's been wonderful. The staff have always went above and beyond to help me and Dr. M. Patel is a great Dr. he continues to push me to be a better person in my recovery. Thank you all so much!

Gary Patton

Very unprofessional staff all around. Just plain hateful at front desk. All doctor says is "uh huh". 10 years trying to get anxiety help, thought nowhere could be worse than the VA. Then send $89 bill that had no clue I owed to debt collection. Unfortunately I haven't found anywhere in Roanoke valley worth anything for anxiety help, put by far the worst.

The staff is very unprofessional & the psychiatrists are creeps. I had a problem with the staff & my personal information was later posted online. I can’t prove they did it but I’m very sure they did. Some of the things said couldn’t have come from any other source. I was shocked to learn the staff has so much access to your private information shared with the doctor. I gave one star because Zero isn’t an option. I’m using my real name despite fear of further harassment because I hope to help others. I will never be able to trust a psychiatrist again, & I’m now being treated by a female psychologist.
