Very good psychiatrist. Attentive and very helpful.

Not a good experience. He makes accusations and is judgemental when it comes to the parents comments or concerns and is dismissive. He's also rude, by cutting you off mid-sentence, (more than once I might add) arrogant, acts like he's a gift to medicine and doesn't for a second think that "maybe" the parents of his patients do know what they are talking about. He treated me as if I was an idiot! I have a medical background but I did not disclose this to him. I may be poor but I am educated! I am going for a 2nd opinion. Also take note that all his 5 star reviews, seems a bit fishy since most of his patients all have reviewed just him and no other reviews on any other person/establishment!

I feel like Dr. Kumar really listens to me and trusts my opinion. I’m the past, Drs have just had their own idea of what medications or strategies to use without even bothering to ask what I think works. I’ve been coming her for almost a year and have no complaints.

My girlfriend has been seeing Dr. Kumar for many years. He has been very helpful to her. We drive around 100 miles round trip for her to see him. I would suggest anyone needing help to schedule an appointment.

In my experience Dr. Kumar doesn't care for his patients. He Didn't give me any information on the medication he prescribed, or How to transition from one antidepressant to another. I now have a permanently chipped tooth from grinding my teeth when he prescribed remeron. I am now laid up in bed after switching from remeron to Zoloft. I feel terrible and won't ever see him again. I feel as if he should be examined by the appointed officials and that nice Porsche he drives should be investigated. I don't see how someone who is supposed to help can cause so much misery in someone's life. He gave me no indication on how to transition from the medication I was on to the new one he prescribed. He actually told me to flush the benzodiazepines I was on down the toilet, and my next visit he basically lied about what he told me to do with said benzodiazepines saying " I wouldn't ever tell my patients to do that". This was a flat out lie to my face.. I would recommend a witch doctor before I ever would recommend Dr. Kumar. I'm going through a very rough time and I really thought he would help. It sucks that you can trust a supposed healthcare provider, and they turn out to be a money hungry p.o.s.

He is very helpful and supportive. Simply he is the best.

I have been seeing Dr. Kumar in Plano for 5 years now for my adhd medication, and he is very knowledgeable, sincere, and caring. I very highly recommend him.

Dr Kumar has been a life saver. I have been a patient for a few years now and I am glad I found him. He takes time to listen and I never feel rushed during a visit. His office manager has always worked with my hectic schedule when something out of my control comes up. I would not hesitate for one second on recommending Dr Kumar to a friend or family member.

Dena Dennie

I have been going to Dr. Kumar for about 3-4 years now and could not ask for a better psychiatrist. He always asks me how I’m doing in life and with my meds. I have NEVER felt rushed nor have I felt like he was not listening to me. He has never pushed medications on me. I believe his patients are his #1 priority. I seen someone write about the car he drives and that is one of the benefits of all the years of schooling he put in and his work ethic. I am glad I found him I am in a much better place today than I was when I started seeing him.

Dr. Kumar is a great doctor, and one of the few remaining MDs in Dallas who doesn't hire Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants to do his work. Takes the time to get to know and accodomodte the needs of each patient. Never rushes anyone out the door, takes time to get to know everyone personally and makes the best decisions for their overall individual needs. Very patient-driven, not at all money driven; the rates are reasonable and competitive if your particular insurance is out-of-network. Saw him a 10 years ago when I first came to Dallas and was the first doctor I knew to come back to without a doubt when I returned years later. Highly recommend for all areas!

Russ Amy

I have been seeing Dr Kumar for several years. He is compassionate and caring while providing superior care. I would strongly recommend him for new patients.

Michael Vergos

The Dr is very understanding and looks to improve our quality of life, I don't want another dr.

I didn't want to give a star but had to, to rate. I have esstential tremors and first time saw him, he accused me of being drunk. Esstential tremors causes uncontrollable shaking, i had to educate him on it and till this day he doesnt know, nor care. Its funny to him. He is rude and when i ask questions about new meds; what to expect as side effects and all, he gets annoyed. Never had a doc. Treat me so bad

I have been a patient of Dr. Kumar for about a year now and have had only good experiences in his office. He is thorough, asks lots of questions to be sure he understands what you're telling him and will listen for as long as is needed. I never feel rushed out of his office. He always remembers the things we talked about at the previous appt. and is genuinely interested in improving his patient's condition. His office manager is also wonderful and always makes every attempt to accommodate my schedule. I speak to a human every time I call rather than an automated system and I have never waited longer than 5 minutes to see the doctor once I have signed in for my appt. Very thorough and efficient practice!

I have been a patient of Dr. Kumar’s for several years. There is little to no wait time to see him. He takes the time to listen to all of your concerns and he is very understanding. He is also reasonably priced, even for those without insurance like myself. I would highly recommend seeing Dr. Kumar.

Very pleased with Dr and staff! Great experience! It’s always difficult bringing a child to a new doctor and everyone put her at ease!

Meg Maran

Compassionate man and doctor. They do their very best to accommodate their patients and Dr. K always remembers what’s going on with me and asks about my well being. Mangi, the manager, is the same way. Smart people who want to help is a great combo!

M E

I've been seeing Dr. Kumar for the past 4-5 years and he is an excellent doctor! I highly recommend Dr. Kumar.

Jason Lim

He's a good doc but strict. Real strict.

Ilana Arenberg

I’ve seen Dr. Kumar for about 5 years now. He is patient, and makes you feel like he really cares. My issues have improved drastically after I became a patient of his. Whenever the pharmacy would mess of my medication, he was always quick to fix it for me. My sister and husband also are patients of his. We love Dr. Kumar!

Stewart Lawson

Dr Kumar is amazing, have been seeing him for almost 2 years now and great service and medical experience!!!

Blake Almquist

I'm not sure how the other reviewers could give Dr. Kumar a low rating at least based on my experiences. Both the doctor AND receptionist have without fail been the nicest, friendly and most accommodating staff I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. Dr. Kumar is well spoken and very knowledgeable and out of about 7 doctors I've been to, he is the only one whom I feel a certain connection to and feel comfortable enough to talk about any problems I may be facing. Lastly my two favorite things is that we both have shared several conversations like you would a friend and I have never had to wait for my appointment like at any other doctor I've been to, once I sign in I am seen within 5 minutes! Please do yourself a favor and give Dr. Kumar a try, I know you will have a great experience.

Kevin Petitto

I have been a patient of Dr. Kumar for a bit over 10 years. Not once have I ever felt labeled, judged or felt like an appointment was an interrogation. He truly just wants to provide the best results through whatever method works best for the individual. If you are working on any mental health challenge or are just needing proper medication management I would highly recommend Dr. Kumar to both friends and family.

Tatsiana Shulha

Excellent experience! The doctor is a real professional, he has an individual approach to every patient and gives good pieces of advice. The office has a nice manager who will make an appointment for you in the nearest future, you don’t need to wait a month like in other places. Definitely recommend them. They helped me a lot.

Sandra True

I do not recommend him. My partner and I both went to him. We were both unhappy with him. At first he was great. He made several accusations against me and my character, bringing up things about my past only another patient knew. I was made to sign all kinds of forms. I was degraded by my doctor in all my years of treatment.

I Am

You won’t find a better doctor or more compassionate office manager. Manju and Dr Kumar have helped me keep my life on track and in order.

LeAnna Russell

I don't like this Doctor. He spend 5 minutes with his patients and shoves medications at children for ADHD. He does not listen to what his patients say or the parents say. I do not recommend this Doctor.

john Greene

He always listens to me. He is not my counselor. He is my psychiatrist. He is there to ask how I'm feeling with my medications. I wouldn't go anywhere. I ask him questions and tell him things about life. I feel that he really cares. He may be in a hurry to see his next client but he never cuts me off when I'm talking. We have stood at his open door for 5 minutes when I was leaving. Not once did I feel rushed. He always makes me feel comfortable. I feel I can be myself with him.

Igor Tulandin

Michael Burkhart

Very nice Dr and office manager. Another reviewer mentions his Porsche he drives. If that reviewer went to school for 8-10 years he maybe able to drive a Porsche also. He is a great Dr. He is a good listener and he does everything he can to make life comfortable. Thank you Dr Kumar.

Rebecca Chanel

Very attentive listens to everything you have to say. I am a cash patient and the fee is no where near any other psychiatrist. When I moved here I tried 2 other doctors before deciding on Dr. Kumar. I would refer him to anybody and I have referred to several people I know.

Shelley Mothersell

Dr Kumar is always willing to listen to me and he is a very kind person.

Keren Glenn

I’ve been seeing Dr. Kumar for over 7 years. He has been a lifesaver for me! He has made himself available 24/7 and has responded to all of my psychiatric needs in a quick and thoughtful manner. He asses my state of being in a holoistic manner by asking relevant questions about my health, lifestyle, employment and over all being. He is always open to any suggestions I may have in regards to my treatment. My treatment took several medicines before we reached the best one. He is reasonably and competitively priced. I have referred several patients, including family members to Dr. Kumar and they are all still under his care. I highly recommend Dr. Kumar to anyone looking for basic behavior modification guidance all the way to those who have been diagnosed with a mental health disorder or are seeking a diagnosis.

Adam Bruckhoff

I've been a patient for several years. Dr Kumar has always listened and treated appropriately. Would recommend.

The Wammer

Dr. Kumar is a real Class act. I'm curious where these negative comments come from, but it seems like these people either wouldn't listen to the Dr and his good advice / skill-set, or were just simply angry people no Dr. could cure. I personally can tell you he's a one of a kind, warm heart of a man, who is generally there to do good things for the world; which is unfortunately far from the norm. Allow me to clarify, this man has been nothing but courteous to me and to many of the people I know who also continue to see Mr. Kumar. These are people who support families, Professionals, Educators, etc... I'd like to thank Dr. Kumar, and his staff for their good work... Keep it up... The people need role models like you in more communities. -Ross
