I have been seeing Dr.Kazi for a few months and I have to say that she truly is the best. She relates to a lot of things and does offer advice when asked! I never feel that she is ever in a rush to get me out the door. Dr. Kazi truly listens to what you are saying and how you feel. She is amazing and I'm so glad I found her.

The level of incompetence is staggering. They are way too busy for any real customer service. Good luck getting in contact with anyone at this office for either a prescription refill or to cancel an appointment. If you try to cancel they will charge you anyway.

Katie Sanders

Great experience.

Ridiculous billing procedures. Charged for an appointment I canceled properly and for an unnecessary drug test. Bad experience. Never again.

Called over 2 weeks ago regarding a refill request and never received a call back about it. Luckily I have found a new provider quickly enough to not go they withdrawal symptoms.

I believe Dr. Kazi saved my life by carefully monitoring my medication and by being sensitive to my worries. She is a disciplined person who listens carefully, remembers details well, and makes sure I understand my treatment plan. I am very thankful I have been referred to her.

One of Dr. KAZI'S PA's, Megan Kukielski! 5 stars! I've been to the VA for years and never has anyone listened, or more meticulously adjusted my meds for PTSD and depression.

My wife has been a patient since Dr. Kazi came back to TX. She is the most compassionate and helpful Dr. We have seen through the many years of treatment. As far as money hungry is concerned, I think that people need to understand the cost associated with medical care these days and the need to maintain cash flow. I'm confident that they spend a fortune trying to provide services and have such a great staff. This office has literally saved lives. Have seen Rebecca too and she is great. Insurance companies and regulations drive some of these policies.

I never even saw the doctor Seema Kazi. I do not even know if that's a man or a woman. however I did schedule an appointment with them. I went in and filled out all the paper work and I was forced to sign a contract that said if I no call no show I would be billed $125. my appointment was scheduled about a month later. after i left I found another doctor who was able to see me sooner. so with the fact that i signed something that said i would be billed if i no call no showed i made sure to call a week before my scheduled appointment and cancel. then i got a call 3 days before my appointment asking if i was coming in still. i told them no and i had already cancelled. and the woman apologized and said that i shouldn't worry about it, it would be all taken care of and i wouldn't be billed. couple weeks later they billed me for no call no show. i didn't no call no show. i called a week ahead of time, then they called three days before to see if i was coming and cancelled. by no means did i no call no show. so when i call and try to rectify the issue, their billing department goes straight to a voice mail which i doubt i will ever hear from. and i call their office and the woman said she had no record of me ever calling to cancel, and that the only record she had was when they called me and said that she had advised me of 125 dollar fee. which was never discussed. with all that being said. this office: will charge if you cancel, it doesn't matter if you call or just not show up they will bill you $125 do not keep proper notations on their clients accounts (i wasn't even a client, i don't even know who seema kazi is) and last but not least. their customer service is awful. the lady on the phone was absolutely rude, refused to believe that i ever even called. because their office must have the most "flawless system" the customer is always wrong. you just make them feel right. which they did not do. SEEMA KAZI i don't know where your from, but this is America, and this is NOT the way business is done

I really wish I could give this place more stars. Getting mental health care in north Texas is nearly impossible and Mid Cities has made it easy to get everything I need in one place. The actual doctors I've worked with are great. However, the track record of the office staff and communicating with the clients/customers is terrible. I've been with this office since 2017 and I've never been able to get a correct answer quickly from anyone in their office over the phone. Never. Every time I get strung along for several days while they "check on that" and "will call me back." I can understand if the office gets busy, but I've had paychecks delayed, had leave almost be cancelled, and gone for over a month without my medication because of their inability to organize and communicate. If you have any other option, go somewhere else.

Never answers the phone. Left a voicemail about two weeks ago to discuss a no show fee that I really couldn’t afford at the time; they never got back to me. Trying to cancel my next appointment now so I won’t be charged, and they won’t even answer. I adore Dr. Marco and Dr. Yaz; they seem to truly care about me and my mental health, so I hate to leave a review like this. It is saddening to have someone not answer my calls when I am already going through so much. EDIT The situation has gotten worse. Trying to get a refill of my prescription that I only have two pills left of; they have not been answering yet again and I was told the withdrawal symptoms would be terrible if I went through it. Told I would have to do a follow up appointment, I asked when I could get one, they told me to leave a voicemail and they’ll get back to me and fill my meds after I come in. I will not be back; as I said before I love Dr Yaz and Dr Marco, but the people who run this place are very unprofessional and they make me feel unimportant.

Maritza Munoz

The medical staff has been great. I have no complaints in that aspect. I love Dr. Kazi. However, I have to agree with quite a few other reviewers about the front desk staff and office manager. For a place where people are seeking care and compassion, the attitude and demeanor of the non-medical staff is not in-line with the overall mission of the facility. I was quite disappointed today after arriving to my appointment 10 minutes late. I was able to be seen and was accommodated despite my late arrival, but the communication and execution from the office manager was poor. The rude approach and lack of communication left a bad taste in my mouth. It has led me to begin searching for a new caregiver. While I understand that rules regarding lateness are important, I also understand that the front desk staff is intended to meet and greet their clients in a manner that exudes care and compassion. If you seek compassion, I recommend you look elsewhere.

If you are looking for a medical office that understands and can work with a patient that has other medical issues outside of the need for counseling or medication management....THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU!! My husband has a traumatic brain injury and suffers from episodes that cause faintest, dizziness, slurred speech, slow thought processing, amnesia/Alzheimer's like symptoms in addition to having narcolepsy with cataplexy and orthostatic hypotension. With his type of condition, there is no way for us to know 24 hours ahead of an appointment time that he is going to have an episode or pass out and sustain another concussion (adding to the more than 20 he's sustained over the past year). I called to cancel his appointment the night before because he had just fallen from an episode and was almost in a catatonic state. We have been going to this office for over 2 years now and had been told previously that as long as we call the day before, regardless of the time, they wouldn't charge the cancellation fee. When I called the next day to reschedule I was told that we would be charged because it wasn't 24 hours in advance. I asked for them to please work with us since I called the day before and to please take into consideration the condition he suffers from. The manager consulted the owner and he was "gracious" enough to not charge the cancellation fee today, but my husband has now been terminated as a patient! The reason given was "it's our policy to terminate after so many missed visits and we have to follow our own policies." I understand the need for policies (I work for a bank and have to enforce policy often) but I also know that there is a time and place to bend from those policies when someone needs help. It's clear to me that this office is only concerned about cranking out as many visits as they can to maximize the insurance billings and is much less concerned about true patient care. The sad part is, that the staff at the front desk, the counselors and nurse practitioners we've seen here are all wonderful people and truly care about their patients...it's the owner that is the problem!

Lou Lee

Wonderful staff. Marco worked very well with me to figure out the best solution to my uncontrollable anxiety. This place literally saved my career

steve anderson

Absolutely no contact from anyone. If you like voicemail, this is the place for you. For a psychiatrist office to leave you flapping in the wind does not seem right. Two stars because I actually thought I was getting somewhere.

Tym Joshua Galila

All the staff was helpful, understanding and friendly. And then with Dr. Kazi's in-depth explanation I was finally able to understand why I have suffered depression and over-eating for years. Now I can begin my journey to heal and change my life!!

Trixie Tang

Debra is great. Kazi is fine. The rest of the staff is frustrating to work with. This place makes me hate ever having to try to contact a mental health facility because they do NOT answer their phone. Do not expect to be able to work with them at your convience. They say to leave one voicemail. They say they'll return your call same day unless its after 4pm. Not in my experience. I tried to cancel my appointment. Called, left voicemails, they still charged me. I personally don't have patience with feeling like I'm at a deadend and have no help and having to wait around and hope they call me when it's still convient for me (hopefully I'm not in a meeting, etc) but if thats not a problem with you, then go ahead. But no thanks for me.

"Do not listen to your symptoms. Rush through your history. Complete waste of time" took this from a review 6 months ago and it still holds true.

I have been dealing with depression for almost a year now and I had to find a doctor who specialized in my needs. I have found what I have been looking for in MidCities Psychiatry. From friendly and accommodating staff to the best counselors and doctor, I highly recommend MidCities to my family, friends, and colleagues.

Carolyn Hawley

I was very pleased with the professional and friendly service I received at Dr Kazi's office. The intake was thorough and efficient. Dr Kazi spent a good deal of time assessing my treatment and made me feel immediately at ease. I am more than satisfied with the care I have received.

I was very impressed with Dr. Kazi. She was very knowledgable, very direct, but also delivered her practice with quite a bit of understanding and patience. I think it has got to be hard to balance getting the facts needed for the diagnosis, and being an ear to the patient, and she does this very well and with compassion. She is very much a doctor and handles herself professionally and with grace. She is the first psychiatrist I've been to. I was extremely hesitant and scared, but I am so glad that she will be the one to help me through my illness.

I finally found a doctor who understands me and who listens to what I say. The staff is always very friendly and welcoming!

They don't answer their phones and never return calls. You can't even get an appointment.

The receptionist I spoke to today didn’t seem to know a thing, said “this is what I was told” when I asked simple questions about why I had to come in to get a refill on a NON-NARCOTIC MEDICATION instead of explaining why. She was just awful at her job. Now delaying my move an hour so that they can charge my insurance and get a $20 copay. It’s all about the money here. Please go see Dr. Schlueter, in Fort Worth. His practitioner Joe, is such a nice guy! The receptionist is warm and kind! Unlike this place. I loved Dr. Kazi but her staff is just not right.

Sunshine Bryant

Because of Dr. Kazi, I am revising my review. Dr. Kazi is one of the sweetest, kindest, most caring doctors I have come across. She has treated my son so well by being understanding and caring beyond any doctor I have encountered before. I would highly suggest visiting her for your issues. Rate 1 I am NOT a fan of this place. I brought my son here and it was his 3rd appointment. Loved Dr. Kazi the ONE time we saw her which was our first visit. The second visit we waited over an hour so they put us with Megan. Megan is sweet but she's not a doctor and she's not Dr. Kazi. Megan asked us to come back in four weeks. Much sooner than we anticipated but in order to see the doctor again we were game. We show up to our third visit, wait 40 minutes, so I approach the front desk about the wait time to be told I'm seeing Megan again. This is not who we signed up for and not who I wanted to see. I'm done and will be finding another place. They make their money by having a doctor see you once then pawning you off on an assistant while making the same amount of money. Unfortunate that I feel so annoyed that I sat down to write this review... what a joke.

Absolute joke of a facility. Rude horrible staff at the front desk, and idiots running the show in the back. Do not listen to your symptoms. Rush through your history. Complete waste of time, money and the last of my sanity. Do not go here. They will not help you

First time missing an appointment and they charge $75. Will be taking my business elsewhere.

So for starters missed appointment due to being in car accident. So rescheduled for next day. Said wouldn't charge missed appointment fee if promised to keep appointment next day. So pretty much felt blackmailed. Then on day of appointment tbey called several times. Wanting to know what meds we would be discussing. They then informed us that that could not n would not prescribe medication that my regular MD said to have adjusted by pschiatrist. So here we are on day of appointment being told coming in would be a total waste of time. Once they made it clear we cld come in so wouldn't be charged cancel fee twice but they would be doing nothing to help us. Of coarse we declined to go. Told them cancel. This all occured 2 hrs b4 appt time. Ok so thats settled. Then they called again. Saying we could still come in. I already cancelled my ride. And still no benefit. I told them you forced us into this by waiting to clarify what we were coming for. He was rude. Said making appointment was voluntary. Yes that's true. But theyre lack of explanation of processes is far beyond lacking. They are rude. And highway robbers. So I suggest if ur not the most desperate pstient on this planet go elsewhere. Here you will only be charged for no services. And I can't help but mention again the lack of competence and courtesy. Wow!! STAY AWAY. TO THE OWNER OF THIS FACILITY I WOULD TAKE A GOOD LOOK AND MAYBE OVERHAUL STAFF. I'm sure they'll justify everything they said and did and that it was by the book and it probably was but your book needs to be Rewritten and this was just wrong thank you for nothing sincerely unhappy patient

Crooks. They DO NOT know how to bill insurance at all. Last year they overcharged me almost $300 and this year, according to my insurance, they owe me almost $200. Basically what they were doing, is taking money out of my HSA and charging me out of pocket for the appointment! Like I said, crooks! Insurance agreed rate is $86, they were taking that out of my HSA, plus charging me $120 out of pocket!!!! So they were getting $206 out of me every appointment! I'm sure I'll never see it though, because every time I contact the office about it, they send the matter over to their 3rd party billing company in India and they claim they have no record of any of this. DO NOT GO HERE. I always see elderly patients here; I don't know how medicare works, but I really hope they aren't swindling them like this. Not only that, but when I started going to another doctor, he was very confused as to why they had me on the medications I was on. He said not only were the dosages off, but that two of the medications did the same thing, so there was no reason to be taking both. I'm doing SO MUCH BETTER now that I'm on the right meds. I feel like they were keeping me on the wrong medications to keep the cash flowing. And no, paranoia has never been one of my symptoms, lol.

I’ll begin with my on-going billing battle for now. What’s the first thing they tell YOU when you begin your medication treatment? DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUSMTANCES STOP TAKING YOUR MEDICATION COLD TURKEY. As I write this I am OVER A WEEK w/o my Quetiapine 200 MG dose. Here we go- I have 2 insurance & I am constantly told I don’t have to pay because of this by the front desk. I had to paid $159.84 for an appointment 7/11 or I wouldn’t have been able to be seen & that would have resulted in a $75 cancellation fee. An out of pocket appointment with no insurance is $150 by the way (keep this in mind it’s important for my rant). My HRA account request a receipt for the $159.84 which is usually no problem when there's a LIGITIMENT CHARGE. I submitted my receipt & unfortunately my HRA wouldn’t accept it because it was just a print out with no billing code. I went online like I always do to submit the EOB & there wasn’t one for my primary insurance which usually pays $112.02. There was one for my secondary for $45. I submitted this & now the charge that is unaccounted for is $114.84. If they would have ran my primary the unaccounted amount would have been $2.82. I figure what happened is they charged me $150 for the appointment & also charged my insurance. Insurance fraud? Just curious… I called & spoke with Dominique in billing because my card got suspended & I couldn’t go to my October appointment. I also let her know I only had 2 days left of my ant-psychotic that I am on a fairly high dose of so it was imperative I get my refill. She who admitted that she had no idea why I was charged as she did not see the charge &/or a reason I would be charged that amount. Lucky think I have a receipt, huh? She also assured me she would speak to the front desk so I would not be charged a no show fee of $75. I told her on this FIRST call I had an EOB from my secondary insurance but nothing came through on my primary. She just needed to charge my primary. She argued with me & told me I do not know how insurance works & she would escalate this & call me back the next day. She didn’t. I called her back a few days later & she had no idea who I was or what the issue was. I re-explained EVERYTHING. She said I was charged for previous appointmentS. I told her I have had dual insurance for the last 2 years. She then started what would be over an hour of me on the phone with my insurance companies. She called my primary who confirmed THERE WAS NOTHING RAN 7/11. Dominique assured her a primary was ran on her side. My primary then called my secondary who has the mental health carved out to another company- I have thoroughly explained this to Dominique who kept telling me I didn’t have 3 insurances… which I was well aware of. Primary insurance called secondary who handles my mental health portion & they told her NOTHING had been ran as primary which is odd that my secondary paid but they did. Primary insurance lady had secondary (mental health) insurance cancel the claim so Dr. Kazi’s office would be forced to run the primary for the first time & then the secondary again. & she told me they would owe me a refund. Dominique was supposed to email me an itemized statement with the charged broke down for $94.84 I have no clue where she pulled that number from, but I do know my HRA isn’t going to care unless it’s the exact amount. She also said she would leave her name & number on the form- as if the HRA is going to call her! & the really bad thing is after they process through my primary (which is as of today STILL PENDING) it’s not even going to be the exact amount I originally paid! Again I am now over a week over not having my med & going through withdrawals physically & mentally. I have called 3 times requesting a refill multiple times. I have reached out to my pharmacy (before I was out) 10/14 who has reached out EVERY DAY SINCE. Today I received a call from Dr. Kazi’s office from Margaret telling me I need to come in for my medication refill knowing I can’t because my HRA account is suspended because of them.

UPDATED REVIEW: Don’t be misled by their response to my review. They are making zero effort to right this wrong. I received an email from the President of Mid Cities Psychiatry on July 13, 2018. They reviewed their call logs and confirmed that I placed two calls to them the day before my appointment. They assert that it is my fault that I did not leave them a voice mail message even though their system kept cutting me off. Further, they indicated that they will not accept my text message cancellation because their text system is only “one way”. They are still going to charge me for a missed appointment even though I did my due diligence to cancel. I have never encountered a more money-hungry doctor’s office in my entire life! ORIGINAL REVIEW: I attempted to cancel an appointment due to an illness. Both times I called, the voice mail system hung up on me without taking my message. I responded to the text message appointment reminder I received explaining that I was sick and needed to reschedule. I called this morning to verify that they received my text message. I was informed that they will bill me for a no call, no show because they did not receive a voice mail from me despite the fact that I have my phone log that shows I was on the line with their system for over 1 minute. Further, I informed them that I have screen shots of my text message to them. They will not accept that as notification because they said that they don't see text messages on their end. I clearly did my due diligence to cancel the appointment, I have proof that I attempted to contact them, and they still want to stick me with a $75 bill!? I had an issue a year or so ago when my company was late depositing my HSA money onto my card. My husband was out of work and I had no way to pay for my appointment. I called to explain and was told that they were still going to charge me for a missed appointment because I didn't follow procedures and cancel 24 hours in advance. I was sobbing hysterically, begging for them to work with me. I asked if I could come to my appointment and pay later when the HSA money hit my account and was told that they would not work with me. Finally, they said they would not charge me but it was only after I was crying uncontrollably for many minutes that they agreed to help me. I understand having policies for no calls/no shows but when there are extenuating services, exceptions should be made. I will be filing a complaint with the state medical board and the Better Business Bureau as well. Doctors take an oath to "do no harm". Mid Cities Psychiatry seems to forget that they harm their clients when they treat them this way so unreasonably. Clearly the only thing they care about is filling their pockets with money. Go to someone that will care about you. Don't waste your time here.

Pearl Brantley

I’ve been seeing Dr Kazi for 4-5 years and today I was treated with disrespect and was denied care. If you have more than $30 owed because of an AWFUL billing department that doesn’t file claims properly... they will literally turn you away and deny care, eventhough you speak of depression and self harm. The girl with the nose ring at the front office was the most unkind and the girl in billing wasn’t much better. Even her husband (Dr Kazi) refused to speak with me about the billing issue. So I left after an hours drive with no help.

Do not get started. If you are a new patient you will see Dr. Kazi maybe once a year. Maybe. You will then see Physician Assistants in cubby hole offices. CaChing. Next! If you are a regular patient, you can be dropped due to a change in policy - or really anything. Then you have to find someone new. Find someone else to start with. God help you if you miss an appointment even if you are in Emergency Room. You will be charged, dropped, or both. If you are 10 minutes late, you will be denied your appointment and charged for a missed appointment. CaChing! You have to put up a credit card so they can bill you. Seriously ill people can not always give 48 hour notice. It would be one thing to chronically miss every other appointment, but this place expects seriously mentally ill folks to operate like machines. They treat people like machines. CaChing!

Raquel Chapa

They definitely think their time is more important that yours- you get 8 reminders not to be late or miss and appt but it take 24 -48 hrs to get a reply from them

Michael Oliver

If you are thinking of using this provider, please think again. Their motto is "Our time is WAY more important than your time." They require payment for a minor inconvenience on their part. So understanding and accommodating - NOT. Find someone else!

Jasmine Ashford

The front office staff are generally friendly and helpful. The process of a new patient appointment made zero sense, though. They made me do a urine drug test BEFORE I was even seen, which I had to pay out of pocket for ($65!). I can see it being necessary for someone about to start on medication, or seeing if that person may be at a risk of dangerous behavior in the future, but it was never explained to me what this test for. Once I WAS seen, the PA and I decided I would not need their services in the near future. I get the strong feeling this drug test I did & paid for was totally unnecessary and they should really give you more information about it beforehand. The PA I saw, Megan...maybe she was new or something, and she DID seem young...I can only describe her bedside manner as "rehearsed." I did not feel heard or understood at all. She literally refused to hear me, and she kept saying, "well the survey you took points to this." As if one's psychology couldn't be more nuanced than rating over-simplified symptoms on a 4- or 5-point scale. They provided me with help in searching for more resources outside of their office. Megan WAS knowledgeable and genuinely trying to be helpful. Maybe just not too great with empathy.

I have had the best experience with Dr. Kazi and Rebecca. They have helped me tremendously and have always been kind, interested, and professional. I have never had any insurance, billing, or scheduling issues with this office.

Last edited July 18th, 2019 --- You are pushed through as quickly as you possibly can. I am fine seeing a NP, however it looked as though people were scheduled to get the maximum volume of patients. The problem here is obviously management, and I feel badly for those in this work environment. My NP, in effect, read me a survey and then completed the session. Nothing was investigated, and he looked incredibly withdrawn. I told them my medications - including one scheduled medicine that I hadn't used in 3 years and didn't want a refill on. Apparently that was ignored, because I was drug tested and told to "clean up my act" after admitting to previous drug usage (the substance - interestingly enough - is a far less damaging and addictive substance than the aforementioned prescription benzos). Again - this is a policy of theirs to drug test new patients. It is entirely up to them to continue that process - however, it's proven largely ineffective and damaging to "treat" drug use by berating patients - which leads me to conclude this facility is not at all interested in anything besides the enrichment of the owners. --- I made a follow up appointment with the intention to cancel - which I did. I emailed *and* called in 3 days prior to the appointment date to cancel, and never received a reply. Later, I realized I was charged a $75 no-show fee. I emailed the same address that previously had no reply for over 3 weeks asking for it to be refunded. Surprisingly, I received a response this time within the hour, saying that my email was not permissible, and my call was not found. I have call logs that show the exact time and date I placed the call for cancellation, showing they are either trying to BS their way into keeping my money, or are just incompetent at communicating with patients. Either is not good. The support representative was kind, and I anticipate a resolution given the evidence I hold. However, the mismanagement that lead to this problem in the first place is inexcusable. I really don't want to have to waste my time diagnosing an issue for a doctor's practice that I no longer want to be involved with. I think it's important to remember that - as far as I can tell - the employees that work here are victims - so please be nice and direct any anger at whoever is mismanaging this office. --- Edit: they are refusing to refund the erroneous $75 payment, so I will now have to dispute through my bank. Please avoid this very money hungry company at all costs. --- Edit 2: I didn't think I'd have to make a second edit, but they're at it again. I didn't speak to them for 2 months and they've sent me YET ANOTHER $50 charge in the mail, despite having already paid the co-pay for my appointment. In other words, this company wants $175 of my money for a guy reading a quiz on the computer to me for 10 minutes. Unbelievable. Please avoid unless you want a headache. --- EDIT 3: I had hoped I'd never have to hear from this scummy company again, but I was just charged $175 for a needless drug test. It was never communicated to me that I would be fronting the cost - I would have walked out right then otherwise. What a disgusting and predatory establishment.

Overall easiest Dr. Appointment ever made. Short set seems to the point. Didn't have to wait long.

Been here 5 times now. Took three visits to meet my “doctor”, every appointment has been at least 20 minutes late. They have shown extreme ignorance of my insurance and have made minimal steps to rectify the resulting issues. They’re very nice and they have addressed most of my issues so more than 1 Star.

Everyone here is super nice. If everything has been great they will get you in and out or take as long as you need and talk with you and answer any and all questions you may have. Dr. Kazi especially is great.
