REVIEWS OF Holiner Psychiatric Group IN Texas

Maria Pippin

I was reluctant to keep my son's appointment because of all the negative reviews. I was so glad I kept my son's appointment. The wait was minimal, i didn't have a chance to finish my new patient information before they called us back. The reception staff was great and Kesha and Dr Holiner were AMAZING. I only spent 15 mins with Dr. Holiner but he was funny, seemed to really care about my son and involved him in the conversation. Looking forward to our next visit and future visits.

Cynthia Clary

Very happy with the practice. I usually see Ann, one of the PA's and love her. Needed forms filled out and they were completed in timely manner.

Todd Woodruff

Don't go to this place with the idea that you'll be listened to. My wife and I relocated to Dallas from out of state and we're seeking a new doctor to treat us for an existing condition. When I called the office as a new patient I told them why we were coming and what our expectations were. They said no problem, we'll take care of you. I had to pay a new patient fee of $345.00 to learn the doctor wasn't going to keep either of us on our current meds. Four thumbs down

Josh

I called to get a consultation. The lady who answered the phone was very short and rude. It took me along time to make that call. Honestly to be interrogated just to make a consultation appt. I just wanted to get help not be humiliated

Amanda Marfin

I have been going here for about 3 years, and I love them. I've never had a problem with the front desk, scheduling, or billing. Granted, I pay my bills and keep my appointments, so that helps.

Greg Adams

This sorry *** Dr. Rosenthal finally called me back, and when I explained my issue to him, he had the nerve to tell me he didn't want to deal with me. What a sorry **********......HE NEEDS TO BE DISBARRED

Sara Law

The Holiner Psychiatric Group will do everything to ensure your mental state is stable. Be honest with them to help improve your overall care.

Bryan Seale

AWSOME staff another did not understand the asking for a payment of a extra 59 dollars for a text my insurance did not cover

Rick Mann

I get in to see my doctor within five minutes every time I go in. I have received tremendous care and assistance from everyone there.

Erika Contreras

Please, please, please, save yourself the frustration from coming to this place. I read the other bad reviews, and still decided to give them a chance. Bad judgement. From the start it was terrible. The receptionist were very rude, they tell me a different pricing than explained on the phone, the nurse practitioner I got was also very unwelcoming. I was with them regardless, figuring I didn't see them often enough to care. So today, I find out the nurse practitioner I was working with is gone. They didn't give me notice, no call, no email. Nothing. And because of that, I'm not able to get a refill on medication that I need. These people have no manners what so ever when it comes to the patients. I've seen them interact with others, and it's not just me. Do not go here.

María Marsil

I have had the best experience coming here. The staff is professional and kind. extremely caring and professional.

Bowie Ballard

Absolutely extraordinary positive experience with Dr. Holiner and his team in an area of medicine that can be extremely sensitive and even embarrassing in particular in my opinion for men. My initial extreme stress over showing up for my first appointment was quickly relieved as Dr. Holiner's staff was so caring and courteous. More importantly, the care provided to me in an extremely difficult and highly "challenging" phase of my life greatly accelerated my ability to work through my "challenges". The Holiner Group allowed me to see that extreme stress, lack of focus, and even borderline depression was not a result of weakness or a lack of manliness on my part, but rather a result of physical changes in my brain chemistry and my nervous system as a result of significant trauma. I no longer stigmatized myself as a loser, a weakling, and an extremely poor excuse for a man. Medications to support me in getting back to my normal state of being was not something to be ashamed of, but rather just a tool and resource to return me to my normal happy and loving state of being. Words alone can't express fully the deep gratitude I have for Dr. Holiner and his extreordinary staff. Go see him if you're struggling. It will be very worth your while!

Do not go here! Poorly run office. Always running late, and made me come back two days in a row because they were late. Having to carve time out of my schedule to go there only for them to push my appointment out an hour or more. Worst run place I’ve ever been to and an awful experience. Staff wasn’t friendly and were rather rude telling me there’s nothing they can do. Sorry. Not gonna let a place that’s supposed to be all about caring for people treat me like that.

If you're looking for a psychiatrist, I suggest you look elsewhere. I've been a patient of the Holiner Group for the better part of ten years, but I can't see myself staying much longer. In the beginning, the experience was as good as it could be (given the fact that it's a psychiatric practice). The business side was streamlined and relatively stress-free, and the doctors/nurses always provided superb care. Then the entire administrative structure changed. Appointments went from thirty minutes to fifteen minutes, while prices remained the same - that way, they could maximize profits by seeing as many patients as possible. However, there's no guarantee that the appointment in question will only run fifteen minutes. More often than not, you can find yourself waiting for hours for your appointment to begin, because another patient is in crisis. Sitting for that long in the waiting room of a psychiatric practice is not fun. It can be downright detrimental to your sanity. I've sat next to people are nearly insensate because they've been waiting so long for their appointment. Then, when you do see your doctor for regular maintenance, they try to rush through the appointment if you're not considered a severe case. This makes for a rushed appointment that feels more like a survey, instead of a careful examination of your mental state. Through it all though, I still trusted my nurse practitioner with my mental health. We'd been together for years. I was afraid of finding a new doctor and starting all over again. However, that trust can't make up for how awful the administrative staff is. I've never experienced such abysmal customer service on a regular basis. There has to be around twenty of them (all relatively young women), and I'm fairly certain they model their behavior off of the movie 'Mean Girls'. They're clipped and curt to the point of rudeness, and utterly bored with your problems. Whenever you speak to them, they act as if you're infringing on their time. Interacting with them is a requirement. They handle your insurance, your payment methods, scheduling your appointments and managing your prescriptions. Yet they act like all they're supposed to do is fritter around on their computers. Considering that the practice's hours aren't great, I can't see why they act as if you make their job that much harder and longer. I'm not kidding when I say the hours are terrible. Google may say that their hours are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, but that's only Monday through Thursdays. On Fridays they work half that time. Well, some of the doctors and nurses do. Others don't work on Fridays at all. On top of that, they take a lunch in the middle of the day that has lasted an hour and a half in the past. If you're a working professional with a limited schedule, the Holiner Group's lack of scheduling flexibility will not work for you. Other than all of that, it's only okay. Pros: The doctors and nurses are incredibly experience and can more than handle your mental instability. In the past, they gave you all the time you needed during your appointment. Cons: the administrators, the price, the hours, the length of the appointment, doctor/nurse availability and the overall experience. So just about everything else.

I have only been to one other office for one visit previously. It was a terrible experience. This group was a night and day experience. Dr. Molina and Aaron were compassionate and thorough. They were referred by a friend after I expressed my disappointment in the visit I had with another group. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a caring group. Thank you for helping to restore my belief in BH groups.

Alex

Absolutely amazing. The new office is flawless, and the staff are welcoming and accommodating. Reception is kind and understanding, as well as concerned for your well-being. I've been seeing the Holiner group for nearly 7 years now and it's the best decision I've made in my life. I started going in middle school and now I've graduated, and without the medication they prescribed me, I wouldn't have made it past freshman year. Heather is a gift to her practice

With the lack of access to psychiatric healthcare in Dallas, it's hard not to simply be grateful when a doctor takes insurance and is seeing new patients. This was the only place I could find in Dallas that would see me affordably. That being said, I am not from Dallas and I am used to a higher standard of care than Holiner group was able to provide. I imagine they get a ton of business being the only insurance shop open, so they have to rush people in and out to see everyone. I have a difficult-to-manage diagnosis and I was extremely disappointed that the doctor only saw me for the initial visit. The nurse I was assigned to (Debbie) rushed me through every appointment and showed no interest in my overall mental health, interrupted all of my sentences, dismissed all of my concerns (and those shown by other specialists), and attempted to lie to me about drug side effects so that I would stop asking questions. If I had been assigned a different PN I may have had a better time with Holiner Group. If I did not have lifelong experience with personalized care I would have nicer things to say. I also received an itemized bill when I stopped seeing them containing a charge for 'psychotherapy' services that I never received. I never had any problem with the office staff and there were no scheduling issues. If you have to come here, just understand that they are all overloaded and you won't get the level of care you expect. And ask for someone besides Debbie.

Selena Gutierrez

I, too, was hesitant to take my son due to the reviews I read. I was pleasantly surprised with how well it went. We saw Stephani and Dr. Holiner and they both were thorough, helpful and knowledgeable. Messages to the are returned quickly and waiting times are short. We're glad to have found them.

Christie Holbert

I love my doctor, but the billing side of things has been a mess. They tell me one thing and I agree and make a payment...then they bill me later an additional fee--everytime.(I am cash pay) It is really frustrating and I am changing doctors as a result. The office staff is less than pleasant, they should keep in mind they are dealing with people who are in crisis in their lives.

I have been a client of the Holiner Group, more specifically Dr. Elliston, for about a year now. They have really been there for me through some very tough times. They have worked with me to get my medications straightened out and to help me become stable. (It is very important to remember that a Psychiatrist is not a Psychologist and that the two offer very different services).

Pablo Davila

So the receptionist are rude... nobody ever answers the new patient extention. I just want help I don't want to be treated like crap because of it

Kristen Miller

To be honest, I hate this place. Actually, I loathe it. The sad thing is they are one of the few options if you want a place that takes insurance. I’ve been coming to the Holiner Group for a couple of years and while initially it seemed alright I now have a few choice words to share that I will keep to myself. One of the issues I’ve run into is their strict 3 month policy. They make no exceptions for you to schedule appointments outside of 3 months. That may be similar to other psych places, I’m not sure, but recently I scheduled an appointment to see a doctor instead of the PA (even though I’m well aware PA’s make med changes). It was out of the 3 month range so they withheld my meds and required me to come twice in the same month. Get all the money they can out of me, especially when the PA does nothing except weigh me, take my blood pressure, and ask if I need refills. I swear I won’t say a word to that PA, because I wanted to see the doctor first. I don’t know why this place makes me so furious. I guess because people are hurting and need help and they’re too busy counting everyone’s 3 months and getting money out of patients. I’m currently looking for some other options. Hopefully I find a place that allows you to see the doctor when you need to.

IT DOESN'T TAKE MUCH TO SUM UP THIS PLACE...IT SUCKS!!! YOUR ONLY A NUMBER,,,

Heather Marie Driscoll

I have been going here for 8 years now and I am very happy . My doctor Dr. FRELE is extremely good - I am very satisfied with this place and their services and highly recommend!

Margaret

Heartbreaking experience. Had to pay full fee because did not take our insurance plan, which I was willing to do in light of severity of issues and the fact that we have tried everything else. Waited forever to see doctor and then answered a zillion stock questions from the PA and saw the doctor for all of 5 minutes. We decided on a course of action for core issue we came in for that we explicitly heard the doctor recommend and then were informed later by the PA by phone that a completely different course of action was being taken. She sounded like she was reading a canned speech and could not explain despite several requests why treatment course had changed and refused to let us speak with the doctor. Never addressed health history of patient or went into any depth on what we came in for whatsoever. On the call, she focused only on a secondary issue that is so obviously a result of a much bigger core issue the doctor seemed to agree with during the visit. We are still in absolute disbelief over how this appt. was handled - literally a 180 degree change from what the doctor said and conveniently communicated after we paid $350 and were already out the door. Considering disputing CC charge.

Marissa Perez

Debby was rude and told me she had more patients to see while I was having a breakdown and stereotyped me because I drink more than 4 beers on the weekend.is considered "binge drinking" Wouldn't prescribe me the right meds for my anxiety instead upped the lexapro which in turn made anxiety worse didn't help at all even after I told her

Josh Gonz

I really don't understand all of the negative reviews. I have had a great experience every time I've been here. Staff is great. No complaints.

Thomas Hoppenreys

1st appointment was a long one...as it should be. Nurse practitioner ran through my entire background then the psychiatrist came in and she gave him a rundown and together they came up with a plan for treatment and follow. It was a pleasant experience and I look forward to working with the Holiner group to help get me back on track.

julia larsen

After spending 2.5 years on the grind with them, all I can opine on is this: standard operations unfold like a Stephen King novel. Collectively , staff is imaginative and quite capable of making even the unthinkable possible. I feel obliged to add an extra star for my memorable experience.

DR Robert is terrible. Cocky doesn't take time and throws medicine at you after you just did a survey saying you feel suicidal. Bad bad.

I have been going here for almost a year now and every time that i have been here they make me feel very unwelcomed and feel like I. Am in one of those delis were they ask you take a number and wait in line every time I would try to go and speak to the doctor he didn’t really seem like he cared all that much about how I feel or about how any one felt and I have appointment today actually I am probably going to have to get stuck having to go and meet with him probably because of asking about a certain med that I knwo the nurse practitioner will not probably knwo the answer too and that the only girl that seemed to care that had worked here no longer works here and that I every time I am here all they care bout is making sure that I jacked up the money and just like today they couldn’t even tell me what I owed. Co pay for and was just excepting to just go ahead and pay it I mean it wasn’t a big co pay but the thing is tho that she couldn’t tell me what it was for excatly is what also had made me mad so after today I will no longer be coming here at all and I had just talked to the girl and that she had giving me the biggest attitude I mean no client should be treated like that

Five years ago, I was a teenage male who had just moved to Dallas to take on my first "real" job in my career as a computer programmer. I made an appointment with Holiner Psychiatric as a desperate measure to see if there was anything they could do to help me with my crippling anxiety, uncontrollable mood swings, and obsessive nature. It may have been the best decision I have ever made, because my psychiatrist, Dr Arthur Chavason, and my psychiatric nurse practitioner Patricia Giarrusso, took care of me. I continue to see them for bipolar mood disorder, schizotypal personality disorder, generalized and social anxiety disorder, and ADD to top it all off, and they have never let me down. I recommend these doctors and nurses to everyone, because I know that I didn't believe that I'd ever be able to be the kind of man I am today.

DO NOT GO HERE. This is by far the worst business I have ever dealt with. They scheduled me a follow-up appointment after telling them not to. And now they are trying to charge me $325 because I was not able to show up.

Rosalicia Fajardo

I am taking TMS treatment, they are friendly.

Jeffrey Pickett

It's interesting to hear how many folks on here complain and you can see it's mostly their blatant fault. Yes, they run a large practice. There are a lot of folks in Dallas that need care. But they are not a "counseling practice". They are Medical Doctors and RNs that run a "DOCTOR'S OFFICE"> That being said, if you need more therapy and care for your conditions they are more than willing to help and refer you to more extensive care. For crying out loud they don't run a hospital, they run an office in a hospital so that folks can get the medication they need to live.

Gaming Gumba

If you have to deal with Carmen, prepare yourself. I have been hung up on, disrespected and belittled by this staff for asking questions and requesting help that is trivial at best. They are CLEARLY annoyed to do anything more than just answer the phones. It's robotic and they couldn't care less about helping me (I can only assume from what I have seen there in person that waiting room, as well as these reviews, that I am NOT the only one that feels this way). I have been going here for about 7 years and I haven't seen an actual Dr on staff in 4 even though every time I have an appointment I try to schedule one. After being hung up on the other day, I have reached the point that I no longer care to deal with it anymore and I am taking my money elsewhere. In fact I think I'll be talking to the board at Medical City. If you have had a bad experience here I encourage you to do the same thing.

Ashanti Nash

Some of the appointment setters and the front office ladies are impersonal. I feel like a number and not a person when I communicate with them. I understand that they deal with a lot of patients but there is no need for them to lack empathy/genuine concern. My Dr's are always great but the front needs to match that....all of them not some.

Cami Lopez

I tried to schedule an appointment for a 2nd opinion after I was referred here by my therapist. It took me 2 weeks to finally talk to someone to schedule an appointment because I had previously been on short term disability. Even though I explained my short term disability is over and I am simply looking for a second opinion the very rude lady that I talked to continuously made excuses as to why they couldn't see me. I'm glad that I had that experience at the beginning so that I didn't have to find out what a joke the practice is after I had paid.

Justin Maupin

Top doctors. Best psychiatrist I've had in 20 years.

Beware this is a people factory interested only in profit. We never felt the providers were genuinely concerned for our well being.

Kimmie Hill

The doctors and nurses are fantastic. I have come a long way as an individual due to their care and concern for their patients. That being said, it's a shame that these doctors are part of a firm that clearly cares more about money than they do their own patients. I had an outstanding balance of $40 which I informed them I would pay later because I was transitioning jobs, which also meant my insurance was changing. When I called to tell them to cancel my appointment, they didn't, and then turned around and charged me $50 over a missed appointment. When I called to settle all of this over the phone, they informed me their credit card machines were down and to mail a check or call the following week. I mailed a check, which was a mistake, because they tried to cash it two weeks later when my car payment went through and the funds weren't available. I made the mistake of assuming another $40 charge on my account was them and didn't call my bank to stop payment. So now I've got an additional $30 returned check charge and a rude and insensitive letter threatening me and calling me a criminal. If they would have cashed the check on the date posted, this wouldn't have happened. If you suffer from mental illness, I don't suggest going to this firm. While the doctors are amazing and can assist you in restoring your sanity, the billing department will be there to drain it right back out. They treat you like a piggy bank and not a person. Look elsewhere.

Frances Freeman

I have seen many bad reviews of this location. I don't do google reviews much myself, but I wanted to post that I have had very good experiences here thus far. I am a new patient, but the doctor and staff have taken very good care of my needs. It is a VERY face paced office and it appears that they have made many advancements in trying to be timely and efficient. I hope I continue to have such great experiences!

Shannen Michelle

After feeling like I was put through a factory line process of filling out new patient paperwork, moving from window to window to pay my co-pay, then to speak to a "professional" who tried to sell me on the fact that I needed personality tests and other tests that I know for a fact that my insurance company wouldn't pay, I got to spend a long time with an extremely sweet nurse who asked me all the routine psychiatric questions. I was basically OK until I got to speak to the "almighty" Dr. Holiner himself. He was extremely rude, cocky and proceeded to only want to talk about medications that were not at all related to his field of study (My migraine medications) and then decided to voice his opinion on how ignorant my primary care doctor is (a doctor who I would trust my life with) and then blew me away when he then told me if I continued on the path of treatment that I was on, that I'd end up heading down the road similar to that of Michael Jackson and Prince. Needless to say, he caused me to freak out, which then led to a panic attack and me crying in his office, completely embarrassed and feeling like I just wasted my time, money and trust in yet another doctor. BEWARE of this place.

Adrienne Peoples

I have been requesting a refill of my daughters medication for over a week. When the prescription were coming through the office she visits in McKinney they were very swift in handling EVERYTHING! I always get great service from them. However, since the switch was made to do things through the Dallas office, nothing has been done. My daughter has been a patient for over five years and this is the first time I’ve ever thought of switching providers.

Tiffany Nelson

Dr. Elliston is a fantastic doctor. He is patient, very thorough and genuinely cares. He has helped me tremendously. I would recommend him to anyone.

Cynthia Barham

Visited one time and I was not impressed. Felt like cattle being herded in and out. Would NOT recommend.

Chris Knight

STAFF IS VERY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! This place try’s to charge you $30 to take an assment on their iPad!!! All they care about is making that money!!!!

Linda Horton

If I could find another place to go, I would. Apparently, so would most of their staff. You’d better not be late but it’s just fine for them to be.

I am done with this doctor's office. They treat you poorly from the front office to the back. I have had numerous appointments, paid lots of money, and have spent less than 5 minutes with the actual doctor. I cancelled all pending appointments and won't be back.

Nabarun Ghosh

VERY VERY BAD, Absolutely NO for anyone Frond Desk said - If you can not speak ENGLISH, you can not see the Doctor. In a country, where so many languages are spoken, this is a SURPRISE. They said it's a POLICY and it's NOT Written anywhere What Care you can expect where the entry is like this. Please don't come here.

This group is professional, courteous, and provides excellent care to my daughter. Dr. Thomas is compassionate, caring and excellent to work with in finding the root cause of issues and providing practical, sound advice.

Very rude

purpandorange .

Been going a few months now and I have had barely any issues. The doctors I've experienced have done a fine job, and the staff has even gone out of the way to help me sometimes. For instance, one time I was in a rush, and they actually sped up the process to get me through in time. The doctors have recommended numerous things to help me outside of just medication. I haven't had any major issues with anyone at the office, and the receptionists are pretty easy on the eyes as well. One gripe I do have though, is that they sometimes send my urine screenings to a lab that seems to be far more expensive than it should be a for a typical drug test. This has only happened twice though. Overall I would recommend it, the negative reviews here have had experiences that I haven't even come close to experiencing so I doubt their honesty. Holiner Psychiatric deals in mental health so you're bound to come across people who will feel very offended at small slights or will over exaggerate small issues. So take those negative reviews with a grain of salt.

If you're referred to this factory mill ethically crippled clinic,* run the other way. I was held hostage there for 2+ mo.'s because mid-withdrawal from serious opioids, it's nearly impossible to jump to another provider. One can barely function, much less do that. I met my psychiatrist, Robert Freele, exactly once for 15 minutes and he was a punitive cold fish. I saw NP's (chiefly Jenny Haney) for 15 minute appointments after the 1st intake appt. They never asked me for critical medical history, such as what dosage of opioids I was on (immense) or for how long (13 yrs). The Holiner Group withdrew me from klonopin forcibly almost immediately after the opioids, in a dangerously fast few days. When I misunderstood a dosage change it was all Haney and Freele needed to confirm what they believe of every single patient who walks in: that I was a drug-seeker. 1st Dr. Freele, then Dr. Chavasa refused to believe that I had made a required appointment which was on the books. Freele threatened on the phone to send me to an ER in cold turkey withdrawal from the klonopin, with a risk of SEIZURES. This was because I was so shocked by their precipitous klonopin withdrawal decision (I was on it for 40 yrs.) that I walked out of an appointment early very upset. Being helplessly shocked at having no say in one's medical health is obviously seen as being insubordinate and out of control. I did need to get off the klonopin due to recently discovered risk, but doing so in six days, and under threat, was medically insane. I was so alarmed by the low standard of care that I began to look to see if there had been complaints. I found what follows shortly before I left. *The TEXAS MEDICAL BOARD SANCTIONED FREELE FOR VIOLATING THE SEXUAL BOUNDARIES OF A (Green Oaks) HOSPITAL INPATIENT in JUNE of 2016 (per public document). Joel Holiner had to settle with the DEPT. OF JUSTICE FOR $250,000 FOR MEDICARE OVERCHARGES in 2004 (per public document). Joel Holiner has been exposed by ProPublica for accepting TENS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS from 2009 - 2017 for speeches to BIG PHARMA COMPANIES, then prescribing their meds (per public document).

Convicted criminal Dr Joel Holiner (plead guilty to DOJ Medicare fraud in 2004 paid a fine and made an integrity agreement what a laugh... Man has NO integrity at all!) Mr con man is STILL up to his old games. He strolls in about 5am whistling and singing about his illgotten millions and spends maybe 2 minutes with each of his drugged sleeping prisoners and THAT IS IT!! (then he bills insurance like he actually spent 15 minutes with you)That is ALL the 'treatment' you are going to get! (Unless he can convince you to do shock therapy you do NOT need as he tries to convince all insured) Woe is you if, like me instead of depression you actually have cancer or something else, because you will get no medical treatment, counseling or coping skills WHATSOEVER here. Much less medical testing or any type of treatment for things like pneumonia or constipation. You will be lucky to get a BED in a room with feces and mucus dried on the walls instead of staying in their little room full of chairs where they ignore the patients during the all night nurse party then release the ones without insurance and hold the insured without cause. Don't let Holiner know if you have children because he loves to use cps as a bribe to make you stay against your will. If Dr Convicted Liar Holiner goes to court about you, you don't get to defend yourself or have an attorney, he just goes and lies about you and they believe him.

stephanie carroll

I love being a patient with the Holiner Group. I have been a patient there for 6 years. Doctor Holiner is great but I see Dr. Freele. Best doctor I've had over the past 21 years that I've been seeing a psychiatrist. I would recommend any and all of the doctors at this practice.

Jefferson Steelflex

I have been a patient here for almost a year. I recently moved to another state temporarily for college. I have been a whole week without my prescription because Holiner group has "not received" both requests my pharmacy has sent them for prescription relocation, as well as my message I sent them days ago asking them to send my prescription to a different location or call me back to find a solution. This morning I spoke to a holiner staff member personally and alerted her of my situation and gave her the location of my new pharmacy. I still dont have my prescription after a week of me and my pharmacy trying to get a hold of them. Im doing everything in my power just to simply send this prescription to a new location but that is apparently too difficult for this business. I have never had these kinds of problems with other groups and am truly shocked why a psychiatric group can't complete such a simple task to ensure their customer's mental health is secure. This is truly disgusting.

I have been seeing Dr. Elliston since I was 16. I am now almost 26. Dr. Elliston has been there for me through the bad, good and everything in between. He is a very caring and concerned doctor, and not just another pill pusher. He has always been weary about putting me on certain meds, especially if they are new and have still unknown side effects. I was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder when I was 13 years old and have seen many doctors. And Dr. Elliston is BY FAR the best doctor i have ever seen. He listens to you and is understanding. You may have to wait a while to get an appointment with him and may wait a little while in the waiting room for an appointment, but believe me he is worth it. He is late mainly because he takes extra time with his patients. I travel all the way from Denton to Dallas just to see him. He is fantastic.

Horrible service. Horrible staff. It's no surprise that the only people who seem to care are steadily leaving. You shoul should treat people with respectfulness, not just quote things from books.

I normally don't leave reviews, so please understand how bad someone has to be for me to comment. The docs are okay, but the admin is STUNNINGLY INCOMPETENT.

The reviews for this office really didn't worry me given the nature of the practice. I was extremely impressed with this office. Naomi was very sweet and easy to talk to. She actively listened which was great and put me at ease! Dr Robert freele came in and we discussed my medication. He made eye contact and really listened to my concerns and took into consideration what I was worried about as far as medication went. I have no doubt that i had the best care while visiting. They took their time rather than rushing me through for my first visit. The office staff was nice and friendly. Wait time was not bad at all!

I’ve been going here for over a year now. I suffer from depression and anxiety since I was about 6 due to childhood trauma. I’ve been on a few medications since I’ve started this program, and I will continue to come until we find the right medication for me.

Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! Not sure why they even bother setting an appointment time because they are always backed up & late. Their disregard for their patients schedules & mental wellbeing is detestable. Their staff diagnoses you with an iPad, sits on a computer to ask you the same shallow questions, & sends you on your way. Parking is terrible at the hospital & the elevators are so slow. The whole experience is dreadful end-to-end. The admin staff are the only positive thing about this practice. Actively seeking somewhere else to go & get real treatment.

The staff helped me so much. I’m so thankful.

Holiner Psychiatric literally saved my sons life! My son became ill at age 18 and was hospitalized, which is how we came into the care of Holiner Psychiatric. Dr Elliston has been my sons Dr for eleven years now and has been a God send! Dr Elliston and the staff of Holiner Psychiatric have always gone above and beyond for us. I would not trust my sons care to any other entity in the feild. I highly recommend them. As a patient you need to allow the Dr's to do their job, be honest, work with them and you will see positive results. Best of luck to anyone in need of care.

I have been trying to call this place for months now, even when trying to get one of our patients in its not possible to get someone on the phone. Today I called 3 times and clearly someone answered and then hung up on me. I would not recommend anyone go here. I have been doing my research and I have heard so many horrible things about this place.

I saw Dr. Holiner for maybe 5 minutes in the entire 6 months I went there. The psychiatric nurse was good but they were charging my insurance for seeing the doctor when I never did.
