My husband has serious brain damage due to 32 years of Multiple Sclerosis. He has seen Dr. Kazi for 3 years and she has very much helped him. There are problems with office staff. Sometimes they give you appointment time, others they give you arrival time which is earlier to allow time to update paperwork. If someone gives you appointment time and you are accustomed to arrival time - and you are 5 minutes late and you thought you were 15 minutes early - you may be charged for a missed appointment and required to reschedule. I believe office is working to rectify inconsistencies. I have found them amenable to solutions. Just be aware of their late show or no show policies. Keep in mind that a Doctor can not resell the time allotted to you. It is lost forever. If you have an emergency that prevented timely cancellation - be prepared to show documentation. Finally, if you are not catastrophically Ill, you may not see Dr. Kazi every follow up. I see Physician Assistant Megan and am very happy with her care. If you feel your needs are not being met by Physicisn Assistant, talk to office manager about your needs. I have found manager to be easily accessible. Dr. Kazi has found medical solutions to issues for my husband that no other Doctor has been able to solve. I highly recommend her - just go in with eyes open as to all their policies and make sure the total package is right for you.

I came to Dr. Kazi after my doctor of 17 years retired and closed his practice. During my first visit with Dr. Kazi herself (second actual visit), she was friendly and PRETENDED to truly care about my well being. She continued the treatment plan of my previous doctor, suggested some tests to hopefully "identify some therapies that may help lessen my symptoms between medication doses", leaving me feeling relieved and trusting. Two months later, the day of my follow up, I checked with the psychologist Dr. Kazi recommended to perform the cognitive testing she requested, only to learn that she had never responded to them when they asked for additional clarification on which tests they should preform (which I relayed to the NP when she asked why I hadn't completed the assessments). She assured me they would immediately rectify that and went to have Dr. Kazi write the prescription that she wasn't allowed to. The NURSE PRACTIONER returned from getting her to sign my prescriptions, handing me a 1/4 dosage decrease to be filled when I run out in 4 business days, then a 1/2 dosage decrease for the month after because without the results of the cognitive tests she would have to stop prescribing my medication to me. WHAT?!?! She then proceeded to tell me I could always get a second opinion... In 4 business days the week before CHRISTMAS DAY?!? Right... that's totally possible. I contacted my neurologist and tracked down some other relevant documentation to at least justify giving me one month to obtain whatever else they wanted (or a new psychiatrist rather) and left a voicemail Tuesday at noon. Wednesday morning after not receiving a return call, ("all calls after 5pm will be returned the next business day" according to their voicemail) I left another voicemail at 8 am then drove up there at 2pm and handed the information I had gathered to a secretary and still NOTHING! If she had told me her TRUE intentions or WHAT tests she wanted and why, or OPENED HER EMAIL AND RESPONDED!!!!!! I WOULDN'T BE IN THIS PANICKED SITUATION AT RISK OF SERIOUS DISRUPTION TO MY ABILITY TO FUNCTION AS A SUDO NORMAL HUMAN BEING 6 DAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS!

To start if I take the time to find a doctor, especially a mental health provider I expect to see the Dr. and not the practitioner in training. It seemed like a bait and switch because I wasn't even notified that I wasn't seeing the Dr. Kazi until I arrived at my appointment. Second, not all mental health patients have history or problems with substance abuse, as in my case. The practitioner didn't even bother to ask or request my health records from my previous provider. Also, it's impossible to see any mental health provider once a month just to manage medical treatment and to be able to get scripts for drugs that I have been on for many years. So your practice forces a patient to come in once a month, and each time take a drug test and only see the practitioner. I reported this overuse and misuse of services to my insurance provider. You are charging my insurance for a specialty doctor when I never got to see the doctor and you charge for the drug testing when it’s not needed. I called to cancel my appointment because I found another doctor. Your incompetent staff didn't check the voice mail over the weekend, I got stuck out of town and couldn't make my Monday morning appointment but I called to cancel Saturday. You then send me a bill for no show. Ridiculous! I plan to write this review on every rating website/rating service there is.

Updated - If you are on lithium and seeing Dr Kazi, you must get your lithium levels checked regularly! I am just now realizing the severity of this problem, but Dr Kazi did not have my lithium levels checked for over a year, or even ask about them, despite the fact that I was on a high dosage. I did not know I was supposed to be having them checked every 6 months minimum. The prescription they sent with me to the lab wasn't properly written. The staff didn't write down the codes for the tests they were ordering, which is very basic information, which caused more of a hassle. This makes me wonder if they are checking their other patients' lithium levels? The staff didn't know how to write the prescription properly. I have not had kidney problems, or thyroid problems that I know of, but I could have in this situation. __ Old review Dr. Kazi is a good psych, she is very personal and listens to the patient, comes up with good strategies for treatment, doesn't overprescribe meds. I did have problems with the office staff in the beginning. Since then things have improved.

Dr. Kazi was available for the initial interview, over a year ago, and since then haven't seen her once. She has relegated me to physician's assistants since then, even though I have had profound depression, suicide attempts, etc. The young assistants are rude and not as knowledgable or resourceful as I had hoped a doctor would be so I am very disappointed.

I only give it one star because of Dr. Kazi directly. I was released from her care about an unknown prescription. Even though they were in my chart and verified by the medical assistant every visit up until recently. The office has grown too big too fast. If you are an established patient you will be pawned off to a PA. They also like to charge outrageous fees for reschuling. I once had an over $200 bill for missing one appointment. I have tried to get in to see Dr. Kazi several times who is sympathetic and understanding and will take all the time in the world. Her PA's are a mixed bag. Her medical assistant is flat out rude. I've requested several times to get an appointment with the doctor who knows my psychiatric history and there is always an excuse. Either she's booked for months or will only see new patients or suicidal ones. Last time I checked suicidal patients belong in the hospital. I was with Dr. Kazi when she had a closet for an office now she has grown to 2 PA's, a medical assistant, 2 receptionists (who I really like), in house drug screening, a financial manager (who thinks he can talk down to you) and an office about five times the size. Very disappointed that I fell through the cracks. Don't get me wrong Dr. Kazi is a wonderful doctor. It's her minions that surround her that are terrible. Horrible way to end a four year relationship over a misunderstanding. Not to mention she put me on two drugs that had a side effect of weight gain and I gained 90 pounds in less than six months. I've lost most of it but still trying.

I have left 2 voicemail messages asking if they are accepting new patients and can only assume they are not since they have not called me back in 2 weeks. Very disappointing.

TERRIBLE, do not go there, they will prescribe you totally wrong medications. Went to another doctor and told them what Kazi office prescribed and they were like WHY DID THEY PRESCRIBE YOU THAT??? It isn't even a medication used for that problem....and GAWD help you if you miss an appointment, be prepared to pay 50.00. THEY TELL YOU THEY SENT REMINDER CALL BUT IN FACT THEY ARE TOO LAZY AND DO NOT. I checked my home phone and never had a call that they claim they made and they will NOT refund you the miss appointment fee.

Not a fan, I've seen psychiatrists for years now and this was the first time I was treated as a criminal with drug-seeking behavior. I wasn't seen by Dr. Kazi, so I cannot speak to her.

Very impressed with my first visit.

I LOVE DR. KAZI. She is warm, personable and appears to truly care about her patients. I was receiving TMS treatments which were a wonderful relief from my depression.

Over books, doesn't spend time with you, if you are in actual need of help in an emergency for a mental breakdown you better go somewhere else because her staff is under trained and will not give her messages correctly. You never see the same doctors and they move you through like cattle.

I have been through many psychiatrists over the years and tried many medications and treatments. I can tell you with much experience that Dr. Kazi is one of the hard to find really good psychiatrists. She listens to you and respects your thoughts and opinions. She is very well informed on a lot of the newer things happening in treatments for mental health. She was very knowledgeable about the genetic tests I brought in that I had done previously and she knew what the results meant for me and understood how to incorporate them into my treatment plan. I always research for ways to better treat my mental health issues. I have not been able to get out of a very bad depression and anxiety, etc for a few years now. I have suffered most of my life with depression, but the past few years, no medications were working anymore, and I have tried many, many of them. Other Drs. just kept raising my doses and changing the cocktails, but nothing worked anymore. I had done hypnosis and didn't see any big benefits from that. So, my mom suggested shock therapy as a desperate attempt to try and help me. I was too scared to try that though, but I started studying about the TMS treatment. I found that Dr. Kazi is highly recommended to perform the treatment and so are the Mag Venture, Mag Pro machines that she uses. So, I made an appointment with her and we discussed it thoroughly. I went ahead with the treatment and finished a few weeks ago. I knew it was working part way through the treatment and now that its done, I feel like it has helped me more than I had hoped for. I am finally coming out of the deep, dark hole I have been trapped in for the past few years. I have hope again and that awful pit in my stomach feeling is not there anymore. I am going to continue to see Dr. Kazi to keep track of how I am feeling. We are currently lowering my medications from their very elevated levels and that is helping too. Now that my brain is able to absorb the medications again, I do not need to take everything I was taking before TMS. I normally don't do reviews, and rarely this long of one, but I know how it feels to be desperately searching the internet for a way to get better. But you just find another medication to try, or a higher dose suggested or different combinations of medications. Not to mention all of the natural remedies, diets, sleep studies, exercise programs, vitamin shots from the doctor, special lights, special alarms, sleep apps, wake up apps, and on and on. My hope is that maybe this is the therapy that will finally help you too and just the hope of that thought will give you enough motivation to go in and talk to Dr. Kazi and see if its an option for you. Even if its not something you decide to do, Dr. Kazi is an excellent psychiatrist in my humble opinion, and she can probably help you with your treatment when others haven't been able to. I saw some comments about issues in a couple of negative reviews that I either didn't experience, or that are normal in most Psychiatric practices. It is common to see a PA for a couple of visits in between visits with your Psychiatrist. I have always had wonderful experiences with the staff, including the couselor who I see, the front desk ladies, the TMS techs, the PAs and the Finance/Business Office Managers. I have been charged a fee for a missed apppintment, but that is common practice for most doctors' offices. But they also didn't charge me when I missed an appointment because of something beyond my control and I was able to show proof of that. I know that many doctor's offices get prescriptions wrong sometimes (although I have not had that problem at Dr. Kazi's) but I do make sure to double check what I am given or what they are calling in. One other thing, I get a reminder phone call and email for every appointment I have at least 2 days before the appointment. If I don't answer the phone, I get a voicemail with the reminder.

The office staff are snippy and unwilling to be helpful. I was DENIED CARE yesterday because there’s an error with a past bill and unless I paid the bill, I would NOT be seen. And I’m OUT of my medication. I sent two emails asking to have Dr Kazi call me after the office staff said I could not speak to her (eventhough I made an over hours drive for my appointment). They said I could speak with her husband and he REFUSED to speak with me. After 4-5 years of care through Dr Kazi I’m devastated to have been treated this way. No one apologized for turning me away and no one has bothered to call me. All they care about is MONEY and NOT trying to help someone in OBVIOUS NEED.

From the very start, Dr. Kazi and her office have been very kind and understanding. The front of office staff always makes me feel genuinely comfortable. I saw Dr. Kazi first, and once I was set up with a good medicine and dosage, I now follow up with Dr. Palmer who is equally as supportive and understanding. I love this office!

Abuse of insurance is obvious !!! I received bill A YEAR later costing several thousand JUST for a blood test??? Do not go there is you don't want to have a nightmare with insurance and be out thousands of dollars

Worst doctor ever been to. Does not even deserve one star but had to highlight in order to post my comment. Dr Kazi will see you only once, then your stuck with nurse Practitioners. Have been with her for almost 3 years and seen her only once. They will refuse to give you an appointment to see Dr Kazi, like I just said you’ll be stuck with nurse practitioners

Do not get started. If you are a new patient you will see Dr. Kazi maybe once a year. Maybe. You will then see Physician Assistants in cubby hole offices. CaChing. Next! If you are a regular patient, you can be dropped due to a change in policy - or really anything. Then you have to find someone new. Find someone else to start with. God help you if you miss an appointment even if you are in Emergency Room. You will be charged, dropped, or both. If you are 10 minutes late, you will be denied your appointment and charged for a missed appointment. CaChing! You have to put up a credit card so they can bill you. Seriously ill people can not always give 48 hour notice. It would be one thing to chronically miss every other appointment, but this place expects seriously mentally ill folks to operate like machines. They treat people like machines as well. CaChing! Spare yourself even more trauma and grief - which you do not need. Do not even get started..

Dr. Kazi is perceptive and intelligent. She's also friendly and helpful. She's an excellent physician. But after being her patient for two years, I had to find someone else because I never got anyone from her office to call me back. I phoned and left a message, I sent an e-mail, and two letters through the post office; I got nothing back. In my last letter, I asked if she was still in business. It's unfortunate that she has such poor office support.

Briana Rooney

Dr. Kazi is amazing. I've been to many psychiatrists and she is the only one that has actually listened to me and who hasn't felt phony. She patiently explained my diagnosis to me in detail, the science behind it, drew graphs for me, etc. Dr. Kazi really changed my life and was the first doctor to make me feel understood. I've been seeing her/other physicians in the office for years now.

Jessica Howell

Love Dr.Kazi! Haven't had a great dr like her in a long time!

In and out. Obviously trying to get as many people as possible. Practitioners looked overworked and stressed. Whoever is managing this is doing a poor job. Assistant I saw was straight up rude & insulted my life choices. Don't go here.

Jay Green

Dr Kazi has been absolutely amazing. For the first four to five months of my treatment she saw me personally up to two times per month and would have seen me more if I requested it. Now that I am somewhat manageable she has handed me off to an assistant who has been very polite and attentive. I still struggle but it has nothing to do with the services offered at this office. I owe a huge thank you to Dr Kazi for honestly saving my life.
