I was referred to this office by a therapist. It has been the worst experience I have ever had with a Dr's office. Dr. Slaughter herself was very nice. But I tried to get messages to her 6- 7 times never got to her. They canceled my apt then made my apt for my daughter 3 weeks later. THE LADIES THEY HAVE ANSWERING THERE PHONES ACT LIKE YOU BOTHER THEM !! THEY ARE RUDE HAVE GOTTEN HUNG UP ON! BUT MOSTLY VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO BE THERE TO HELP YOU . WORST EXPERIENCE EVER !!!!!!

Andrea

Dr. Slaughter is absolutely wonderful. She listens; she doesn't specific drugs or anything. She has suggestions, but doesnt forcefully push them on you. I feel like im important, and my feelings are important. She listens to my concerns regarding any medication, and works with me to find a better medication if I have a bad reaction to it. In the many years that I have seen psychiatrists, I can honestly say that she is one of the rare genuine ones.

Doesnt work with you. After everything ive had to fight for mental health wiae i went here expecting people who would work with me and that is not what i got. I work in mckinney and live in arlington so when i left for my appointment at 4:40 today with the intent of getting there at 4:30 i got held up. I didnt get there until 4:45 and i was told Rowland wouldnt see me and id have to reschedule. (This is after an hour and a half in trsffic and waiting 2 weeks to see if this medicine would work. Which was far too weak probably due to how profiled i was being 27 years old and having mania, anxiety, depression, and god knows whatever else.) I have enough issues just trying to remember what day it is i need mental health professionals who actuvely WANT to help me and work with me when things like this happen. Not people asking me to wait more for treatment i need sooner rather than later. I came here because of the good reviews it had now i realize it was a mistake. Dont go here if you like to be treated as a priority and not an option.

I absolutely loved this office and staff!! They all made me feel very comfortable and at ease. It's never easy talking about your mental health issues but I felt I was heard and also understood by my Dr. I highly recommend this office! 5 stars!!

She cares she will call you if your having issues with meds and in crisis. She understands drugs can make it worse if not good match for mental diseases. You will never hear "I've never seen this before or this drug shouldn't be doing this to you" I highly recommend doing the DNA it helps know what works best for you. Dr slaughter listens and is cautious and doesn't load you up she works slowly and cares how you feel. I'm doing TMS changing my life thanks to this office encouraging me. All meds made me sick. It's wave of future just watch.

office does not answer the phone. I made an appointment because the doctor has many good reviews, but i called 3 times and all those times was on hold for at least 10 minutes. Patients should have better respect given to them than this. Plus, when i confirmed my appointment via a text they sent to me, a lady then called me saying that was not enough and needed a verbal confirmation. I only write this in hopes that they can improve.

Excellent experience with every staff member I've encountered and I've been with them for a year now.

I love Dr Slaughter and her team. Catherine does a great job at scheduling and managing the appointments. They have accommodated my schedule on several occasions, and are always courteous and responsive. Dr Slaughter is always on time for the appointments (unlike other Psychiatrists where I have had to wait until well after the scheduled appointment time). They also take my BCBS insurance. Dr Slaughter has helped my mental health issues with sound advice, and medicines that have worked! I highly recommend this office!

Excellent staff and experience with Bent Tree Health Professionals. You will not sit in the waiting room for long periods of time for your appointment, as this clinic respects your time. Roland Tsopze is my Adult Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner and I highly recommend him. He will not rush through your appointment and he takes the time to actually listen to and address your concerns. I feel that he truly cares about the wellbeing of his patients and I believe he is exactly the type of person needed in this field of medicine. Bent Tree also has a general practitioner (Dr. Saira Dar) on staff. Roland advised me to make an appointment for a full physical check up with Dr. Dar. It is very reassuring to me that Roland Tsopze is taking my entire medical health into consideration, not just my mental health. Although I have not yet been seen by Dr. Dar, I feel confident that she will meet the standards I have come to expect from Bent Tree Health. The medical professionals here do not just prescribe medications and shoo you out the door. Roland Tsopze advised me that one of my medications could cause dependency and explained the benefits of using less of this medication. This is a medication I had been prescribed for years by other doctors, none of whom took the time to explain how it could possibly be detrimental to my mental health. Roland told me that he makes his decisions regarding my care with my long term health in mind. I have no doubt that he truly does provide care and practice medicine for all the right reasons. I feel very fortunate that Bent Tree Health was the first place I contacted when looking for a new provider. Anyone who has had any negative experiences while in search of proper mental healthcare treatment understands that it isn't always easy to find this level of compassionate professionalism. I strongly encourage anyone seeking help to call and make an appointment.

I have been a patient at this practice for about a year and a half and I have been very pleased with my course of treatment and results. My doctor is excellent and really listens to me when we discuss my health issues. I appreciate how pleasant and professional the staff members are and I have had nothing but great help. Thanks!

2 months to get a first appointment with the only other option to see a nurse practitioner. If you are in a crisis or even in need of a small amount of urgency, don't bother.

I found Dr. Slaughter because I needed a new psychiatrist. During my first appointment with her, I do feel that she took her time with me. Everything has been downhill since then. She discontinued two medications that had been working for me without tapering, saying it was irresponsible for my last doctor to give them to me. I am very insulted when I am treated like a drug addict just because a medication that works for me (when many others have failed) is a controlled substance. I always take my medications as prescribed. She prescribed TMS for me. After only 1 appointment, she’s handed me off to her nurse practitioner, Addison. Addison seems overwhelmed with my case, but I cannot get an appointment with Dr. Slaughter as she is booked up well into the middle January (it’s November). By then I will be well out of my medications, so I have to keep seeing Addison. I try to mention how much worse I am feeling, and how scared I am that I feel my symptoms returning to the TMS clinicians. They say they will try to get a hold of the doctor to let her know, but that she is very busy. In the mean time, my life and my job are falling apart. I had reached a level of stability where I was able to start working again, and I felt like I was getting my life back. This is quickly being undone. What doctor is always too busy for her patients in crisis? I was trying to get all of my medical records to them to show how my last doctor and I got to where I was better, but at my 2 week follow up, the front desk hasn’t even called any of my doctors yet or sent the release forms. I do not feel like my treatment is individualized or that the staff is overly concerned that my condition is getting worse. I also believe that the TMS treatments are a huge money maker for them. I was not warned that treatment could make me so much worse before there was any chance that it could make me better. I was told there would be only minor side effects like a slight headache and some scalp discomfort. They do not tell me that it can actually make my mood much worse until I had already begun treatments. They said that it is unusual for the low moods to start so early in treatment. I would have waited until a less stressful time in my life. At least I was stable before. I am experiencing horrible mood swings and lows where I just want to cry and hide. My sleep has become erratic, my anxiety is much worse, I am exhausted, and developing memory problems. I am having so much trouble at work due to this, and yesterday I almost fell asleep while driving for my TMS. They only told me the positives of this treatment when they were trying to sell it to me. Update: Months later, my condition has still not improved. I discontinued the TMS therapy after the first round that my insurance would pay for, because I was getting zero sympathy from the staff and they would not do remapping or change my treatment. I still see the nurse practitioner, not the doctor. The staff does not seem to listen or read records. They blame my worsened condition on stopping TMS, yet I did 14 treatments. Yet they say that I only did a few. It is right there in my records! I never even got a sorry without having to ask. Unfortunately, I cannot see another provider right now. I can not recommend Dr. Slaughter or her office.
